“Great experience”
The hotel was amazing, both in terms of its facilities and service. The service was among the best I have ever experienced, even rivalling many five star international hotel chains I have stayed at in the past. The staff were thoughtful and pleasant. Everyone was genuinely kind, from the porters and housekeeping team to the front desk and restaurant staff. One particular staff member I would like to commend is Mei. She was incredibly friendly and helpful throughout my stay, even giving me her phone number in case I needed assistance during the trip, such as translation or help with planning. She also upgraded me free of charge on the second night to a much larger room. Mei was like an angel. She made sure I was comfortable, regularly checked in with me to ensure I slept well, and that there were no issues with my itinerary. She even messaged me after I returned to Singapore to make sure I had arrived home safely. The hotel also offered a lovely welcome with drinks and snacks, along with a small souvenir (tea and ginger plums) for me to take home. On a side note, the hotel buffet breakfast was decent. They even had a cook preparing eggs to your preferred style, and the taste was great. There were also a few made to order options for iced or hot tea and coffee, and the waiting staff were excellent. However, the only downside was the tailor recommended by the hotel. The quality and service were poor. My advice is not to rely solely on recommendations or Google reviews (this tailor had good reviews), as the final product was disappointing. The shirts were too loose and poorly made. Worse still, they were only handed over on my last day, so I did not have time to get them altered. A tip I would suggest is to always collect tailored items at least a day before departure so adjustments can be made if needed. Also, avoid making full payment upfront. Pay a deposit first. The tailor’s name starts with a D. I have provided this feedback to the hotel, and they assured me they will no longer recommend that tailor. I believe them, as the hotel clearly prioritises good service. One minor note, although not the hotel’s fault, is that you can sometimes hear other guests speaking loudly in the corridors. Overall, this was an exceptional experience and I cannot recommend the hotel highly enough.
