Hong Kong Central hotels & places to stay

This hotel is located centrally in, well, Central district of Hong Kong Island. It's some 10 minutes walk from the MTR station and in the heart of HK nightlife and dining area. There are connections to anywhere in the city by MTR, buses and you can get a taxi right in front of the hotel at any time of the day. Many boutique shops around it and no more than 10-15 minutes walk to the nearest mall. Many convenience stores, supermarkets, galleries are just around the corner. Airport express (MTR) is one stop away. To and from airport takes some 30 minutes from this hotel. Our room was very clean and had everything we needed. Room service was quick and very helpful when we needed something that wasn't already there (wine cooler, ice, glasses, extra pillow...). The internet was really fast and stable. The room is small-ish but that's standard in a city like HK and it was very cosy and didn't feel cramped. Front desk was particularly efficient and helpful every time we stopped there. Check in took less than a minute and check out two seconds, it doesn't get any better than that. They helped us to figure out the neighborhood and suggested a number of places to visit and do while there. We suggest you walk around Central and take MTR to anywhere else you need to go. If going to Ocean park you can take a bus not far from the hotel. All in all it's one of the best boutique hotels in Hong Kong - thumbs up!

I am suppose to book from this hotel during my first trip in Hong Kong but they got sold out really fast! Luckily this January of 2019, I was able to book 2 rooms. The staff that attended our check-in is really efficient and very friendly. The rooms we got are really spacious, very minimalist but that's how we like it and clean. The location is amazing, like 50 steps away from the train station. The price is relatively cheap knowing that this is Hong Kong and were in the central part. Hong Kong holds a special place in our hearts and I will definitely stay in this cozy homy hotel when I come back. Keep up the great service Homy Hotel Central!

What a lovely Hotel, we arrived at 9:30 by bus A11 fron airport- city Flyer - get tickets at airport $65 around £6.50 return and departs every 20-30 mins. Stop is well marked on bus so can't miss about 4th from airport. Bus stops at MACAU Ferry. Just cross Road by bridge to Market building and walk 400m. There is lift to help cross Road. Use Google maps to find hotel. Three feal at home is wonderful. Hotel let us check in at 9:30 and gave us a room on floor 37 overlooking bay and let us have breakfast. Never had this level of service. Hotel is modern rooms spotless view was incredible. Location of hotel is in more authentic bustling area that gives true Hong Kong experience. Could walk to all main areas Hong Kong central. Etc. Hotel next to teach and we found hot food market good and low cost with lots of locals eating there. Hotel convenient for everything. Nice patio area and free coffee. Bus return other side of road actually under the under pass 100m from whff use alot off. Magica

It’s a very nice serviced apartment with spacious room, good location in Central. There are many restaurants near the apartment, guests can also choose to order food delivery. It’s close to Soho area which is good to have drinks with friends at night. Easy to find supermarket, convenience stores nearby. Comparing with other hotels in Hong Kong, the room in this apartment is very spacious, got dining table, sofa and even kitchen inside which make you feel like you are staying at home. This apartment is definitely a good choice for both travelers and businessman.

Wonderful hotel. Perfect location to city get away, 2 minutes walk to main tram line. Local market and seven eleven just outside hotel. Only minutes away to Macau Ferry Terminal and few extra to hong kong central station. Wonderful staff performance, very helpful! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. We stayed there 9 nights and really enjoyd our stay. Definitely the best deal in hong hong. Hotel has nice designed rooms and lobby. You won't be disappointed, book your room now!

I’ve lived in Hong Kong for several years and am quite familiar with the area and local hotels. I was pleasantly surprised by the Lan Kwai Fong @ Kau U Fong Hotel. It is a new, small boutique hotel. The staff are friendly and accommodating. The location is not right in the heart of Lan Kwai Fong, but the walk to most restaurants and shops is only about five minutes (some roads are steep, but taxis are also readily available). The breakfast buffet had a full range of foods, although this was not included in the price of the hotel. Coffee shops are within walking distance. They have a small roof-top bar which is really cute and relaxing especially if the weather is nice. The room size and bathroom are a bit small, but quaint, comfortable and clean. Most hotels in Hong Kong are limited in space, so this is to be expected. I would definitely stay in this hotel again, should I ever need accommodations or have visitors in Hong Kong.

Unreal room on the 23rd floor. That he would be so luxury, we did not expect. All the high technology. Up to the self-opening curtains and the Dyson hairdryer, working according to unknown laws of physics. No less significant surprise was 1 room for the whole floor. Anyone who will be in Hong Kong would highly recommend Akvo Hotel. Service, reasonableness in the details, a amazing view of the part of Hong Kong. The center of the island part. Lots of lighting variations, good digital-sound, a cappuccino coffee machine. Windows to the floor and etc. Thank you so much for your hospitality and smiles.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Ibis Hong Kong Central & Sheung Wan Hotel. Staff are friendly & accommdating. We booked 5 rooms totally and hotel put us all on the same floor. This helps a lot as we go about coordinating our travel plans, on the places of interest to visit. I have to say by putting us all on the same floor, it was a good start to our wonderful holiday in Hong Kong. Hotel is very convenient to move about. Lastly the view of the harbour and the city (as we have 3 rooms with harbour view & 2 rooms with city view) is a sight to behold. Thank you to all the staff for taking care of us during our short 3 night stay but a wonderful holiday for all of us. We will definitely stay again at Ibis Hong Kong Central & Sheung Wan Hotel!

its a very nice hotel. rooms and facilities. enough wide as it possible in hong kong. fully equipped. with free water in bottles :) everyday cleaning, quick and insensibly. hotel looks new and all interior is fresh. location: very good, it a western district, close with central, 10-15 mins walking to the sheung wan mtr station or macau ferry terminal, 15 mins by tram for the central mtr station, hong kong airport express station, central ferry piers, ifc. all hong kong must see places will close to you.

We have been there for the second time already. Both times we felt the hotel as exemplary. From the lobby to the guest rooms everything is very nicely decorated and exudes luxury and comfort.The hotel is overall large. It has unobtrusiveness although it shows luxury. At the breakfast, lunch and dinner is a very large selection of dishes from east and west of the world available. Everything is fresh. In addition, the hotel still has in-house restaurants which present further more dishes on the highest culinary level. The entire staff works very well, even in situations of strain. Personal wishes are taken into account immediately. Taxis for the mobility of the guests are available immediately. Very good is the direct connection to the shopping mall Pacific Place, one of the best addresses for shopping in Hong Kong. The only disadvantage : There is no free Wifi in the hotel .This should be improved from the hotel in the future because already the most hotels in Hong Kong have free offer for Wifi. There is hardly any better place for a hotel stay in Hong Kong. A lot of the city attractions are nearby. Also the accounting process was carried out highly reliable from the hotel after we finished the stay.

Up the narrow winding streets of Hong Kong, sits the Mini Hotel. Starting from the airport station it can be a twisting maze of bridges, ramps, elevators and escalators just to find Ice House. Central Station is a better starting point, although you have three main routes you can take. Left is a steep, long hill, not very good for wide suitcases. The middle will take you to a scenic staircase seen in many Hong Kong movies, with three sets of stairs. The last is near Pedder street and takes you up a narrow ascent with no rest-stops on the way--just straight up for 50-steps. The service is friendly and accommodating. (Note: When I arrived, I had to put down a $400 HKD deposit.) Then you go up to your room, which is kind of small, especially with such a large bed. Honestly, my friend said everything in small in Hong Kong, but when he saw me room, he admitted it was pretty small. You have room to put some baggage on the floor, and walking space to the adjoining bathroom--which is only separated from the bedroom via a glass wall. There are bathroom lights, ceiling lights, and an overhead reading light. I didn't even notice the underbed light until later--there is also a safe under there. Large suitcases will not fit under the bed. The bathroom, depending on your room, will find the sink next to the toilet or in the shower. (Note: Close the glass doors behind you. My first shower, I left the doors open after I showered, and the humidity covered the room--frosting the mirrors, and leaving the bed slightly damp feeling.) Be aware the sliding glass door when you shower is not sealed, so water will trickle out, especially if you take vibrant showers. The walls are not exceptionally thick, as I could hear people talk and do 'other things' late at night, clearly through the wall and into the bathroom.

This is my first time staying in the Sheung Wan area. And I totally love it. It's gritty, it's authentic, it's vibrant. And in the midst of that organised chaos is the Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong Soho. It is quite literally in the epicentre of the hustle and bustle of the area. It is strategically located to be near the pulse of Hong Kong - SoHo, Lan Kwai Fong, the Central, IFC Mall, the Hong Kong & Macau Ferry Terminal as well as the famous Hollywood Road (Antiques Street) and Upper Lascar Row (Cat Street). Convenience is key here. The Sheung Wan MTR station is a mere 5-minute walk away. It's the perfect way to experience the sight, sound, and smell of the neighbourhood. The complimentary free shuttle for Airport Express passengers stops next to the building. A wide array of food is a hungry growl away - dim sum, crepes, noodles, gourmet coffee at hipster cafes, sandwiches, and if totally absolutely necessary, McDonald's. And if you need to stock up, there's also a 7-Eleven diagonally across, and a supermarket farther up the road. Whilst the Holiday Inn Express Hong Kong Soho isn't the most fancy hotel, it is arguably one of the most well-thought through hotel I have stayed in. Blackout screens automatically roll down at night, space is maximised (to the extend the bathroom door also doubles up as the shower screen, so it might be a tad tricky for strangers if both have to use the bathroom at the same time), stable wifi connection, decent channel selection on the flat screen TV, as well as complimentary shower gel in the dispenser in the bathroom. Like most business hotels, there is self-serve common room that you can head to for ice, cups, and internet access via the desktop computers. There are a few restaurants as well should you decide not to head out. Check-in was swift, staff were friendly and helpful. It's definitely value for money. But the highlight has to be its location and the neighbourhood.

Service is superb. Kudos to the front desk, housekeeping, waiters and concierge! One of the best I have come across. Would have taken the time to personally thank each of them if was not in a rush. Room size is big compared to most hotels in Hong Kong. I booked the 2 double-bedded room cos there were 3 of us. The room was clean and the housekeeping team constantly kept it clean. The hotel is connected (through an underpass) to the Admiralty train station, which is just a stop away from the Central station. It is also walking distance to a tram station. Overall, loved the hotel and will certainly come back again if i have the chance. Pricing is a bit steep though but for the service we got , it's worth it

My wife and I lived in Hong Kong twice, for a total of four years. For most of that time we lived at mid-level on the Victoria side, and we loved the view we had, day and night. There are many more luxurious and famous hotels in Hong Kong, but at Bishop Lei we can have an excellent hotel, at a very reasonable price. We like the small but functional suites which have a bedroom with floor-to-ceiling windows. In the daytime we can look down on the Governor’s house and Central, with lots of greenery too. At night we have a fabulous view! The staff is efficient there is a good outdoor swimming pool, and the location, at the top of the Hong Kong escalator is perfect. In the morning we can take the escalator down, and in the evening or afternoon take it up. There are many good restaurants in the lively Lan Kwai Fong area along the escalator path, so it is easy to go out for dinner without having to go very far. The hotel also has a regular shuttle service to downtown and airport express.

How should I begin to write? This is not my first time staying here. I'm very picky person and has stayed in many five stars hotels in Hong Kong but none others could match this one. That's why I keep coming back. This trip to hotel I forgot my Mobile phone on the taxi. Soon after I checked in I realized I've lost it! The concierge kept calling my cellphone and finally reached the driver after 4 hours of attempt on calling the driver. They managed to get my phone back the next day! Everything in this hotel is spotless, the cleanliness, the check in and out process, they even walk you to the car and greet you upon departure. Oh and the room that I was upgraded was very spacious. All this make me feel like coming back home every time. I visit Hong Kong. What more can I say?

Was catching up with work during my long stay in Hong Kong at 2 MacDonnell. While it is sure a bit off the city center, we WALKED to the Central and Admiralty MTRs instead of taking the shuttle or taxis. Taxi fares are inexpensive, ~$40 HKD (~$5 USD) to Causeway Bay for 4 adults+baby. ~$60 HKD to Hong Kong Station with 3 huge suitcases, stroller, and 2 backpacks. There are a couple restaurants across the street and in the building next to Fusion supermarket. The property is right across the street from the Hong Kong Botanical Garden, and close by the Hong Kong Garden on the other side. There's a shortcut to walk down to the city center through the basketball court and children's playground. The Champion Center is ~8 minutes by foot, and has Starbucks and a nice food court. Staff is attentive and friendly. Engineering staff came within 10 minutes on a late Sunday night to help me hook up my laptop to the TV so I can use it as my 2nd monitor. However, there is some mildew in the bathroom and the maintenance people weren't very good with caulking. Otherwise, the Junior Suite with kitchenette was roomy and very comfortable for my 1-week stay!

This is rated the best hotel in Hong Kong and we saw why. Magnificent designer room (we had a harbour view 70) excellent service - sending us detail on good local restaurants before we arrived was wonderful. The hotel is pricey, but you definitely get what you pay for. The views from the room were superb and nice touches like free mini bar (for everything except wine and spirits) and excellent espresso machine. We did not want to leave.

We stayed at 99 Bonham from 9 Jun - 12 Jun 2017. We like almost everything about the hotel. The staff was excellent. The location was excellent - about 5 mins away from Sheung Wan MTR and tram station. Easy walk to Lan Kwai Fong. The size of the hotel room was tremendous for Hong Kong Central area, with excellent fittings. Having a mobile 3G hotspot that you can bring along with you and all the free food and drinks at the mini-bar really make our day. I would strongly recommend this to any couple wanting to stay at Hong Kong side, near to all the action at SoHo and LKF.

Don't be fooled when you see "YWCA." This is an actual hotel, located in the midlevels in Hong Kong. It is pretty conveniently located, about a 15 minute walk to Central down the hill. Warning: the hotel is ON a hill, so it takes a bit of time to walk up, but does not require any extraordinary effort. From Central you can get anywhere on the island. If you are coming in from the airport, you can just take the Airport Express train to Hong Kong station, and catch a cab up the hill. Shouldn't be more than $35 Hong Kong dollars for the cab, depending on how much luggage you have (each one costs $5 extra). The free buffet breakfast (which was included on our fee) was a great selection of dim sum and other dishes. I thought the western fare tasted a bit better, and they have great coffee. Only downsides are the climb up the hill every night. Also, the AC was amazingly cold in the common areas (lobby, elevator areas). Lastly, it would be nice to have free wireless or internet in the rooms, but the great clean rooms and location more than made up for it.

The Jervois and it's sister properties at One96 and 99 Bonham are my favourite places to stay in Hong Kong - and the Jervois is my favourite of the favourites. The rooms are all actually suites with a separate living room and the amount of usable space you have is high. The design is outstanding - modern and stylish. Also love the location in Sheung Wan, which is much more fun than the more business-y areas of Central and Wan Chai. Great restaurants and cafes are nearby. You realise you don't need many of the things that a full service hotel offers (like room service) and would much rather have the location and space and privacy of the Jervois than the tiny tasteless room you'd get at even a high-end chain hotel. If you're hungry at Jervois, just order Deliveroo from Chachawan and in 20 minutes you'll have some of the best Thai food you'll ever eat! Couldn't recommend this hotel highly enough. It is incredible value for money.

I am so impressive since the first day I arrived. The service is beyond my expectation.The staffs are very helpful, full serviced minded and friendly. The room is clean and quiet.The facilities in the room are all you need. The location of the hotel is perfect since just very short distance walk to Sheung Wan Station and not that crowding so we can take the full rest for my business trip. . It was also my birthday during the stay. The staff and management team was so caring and surprised me with a cake in the refrigerator. It is one of the most impressive stay I have ever experienced from many many trips I have taken. I would definitely recommend my friends and colleagues to choose this place whenever they travel to Hong Kong especially those would have the businesses or want to stay on Hong Kong Island.

My trip was 1 more stay to Hong Kong because of the typhoon, which delayed my flight. I reserved City View but upgraded to Harbor View, and the staff were very kind and didn't say anything unnecessary. The sauna was small but clean, and the amenity quality was great. The amenity inside the room was a Bottega Veneta product. The Harvard view room was really the best. It is expensive room rate but minibar is not free, so I felt sorry. The indoor pool was rather small. Although the room view was good, I wonder if I will visit next time because the room rate is too high. But it was one of the best hotels I've ever used.

Went to Hong Kong just to use my about-to-expire mile rewards for a weekend and chose to stay at The Mercer overnight. Although I'm aware that check in time won't be until 2PM, I arrived at the hotel just to park my luggage while I go around. The staff gladly accommodated my presence and upgraded me to an executive room as early as 11am. The unit is very stylish and charming yet very comfortable and so clean - perhaps one of the highlights of my unplanned trip to Hong Kong. Staff at the lobby are very pleasant - check in and check out were hassle free. I've booked the place through Agoda. For the price, you get a very good deal - a lovely place to stay with a free mobile phone you can use and bring with you and free use of the mini bar. Amenities are great, only thing not working was the weighing scale at the bathroom (it doesn't have batteries) but it's not a big deal for my overnight stay. Breakfast is quite limited. But you're in Hong Kong - you can just eat enough dimsum to fill you up before you go out and experience the food around the city. The place is really near the Sheung Wan station so it's not that difficult to go around. I will definitely book here again in the future.
