We had 2 rooms Very old and rundown hotel desperately in need of reno Lots of insects everywhere including our beds which made for difficult night Breakfast was good-fresh fish from hokkaido and roe Front desk tried as not a lot of English Close to the ferry pier which is why we stayed here…stayed only 1 night If you enjoy camping or fishing this may be ok for you but we don’t do either so not a hotel for us Kume island is gorgeous and very island community
The inn Matsunoya, known for its fresh tuna and chewy new texture, is also located near the ferry terminal. However, the room had not been cleaned at all and was covered in dust. Please clean properly! When was the last time you cleaned the corners of the room or under the refrigerator? The dust was also on the lighting, the sunken wall above the bed, around the bed, the black mold on the bathroom seal, the smell from the drain, and when I opened the balcony, it smelled really bad. What is that odor??? The white rice for breakfast was also smelly and inedible. Are you washing the inner pot of the rice cooker? Is the rice cooker too old? Is it old rice? I don't know, but it was just too smelly to eat. Although there were quite a few items for free, the grilled fish (hokke) seemed to be pre-cooked and dry. It's just convenient because it's close to the ferry terminal. The staff were nice, but please try harder with the cleaning. Also, I think it would be better to replace the mirror in the bathroom with a new one.
The staff's response is excellent. The port, dining establishments, and bus stops are very close by. However, since it is an established place, the facilities are old, which may lead to differing preferences. If you want to keep costs as low as possible, you might want to consider it.
I was many time in this hotel and coming every year there. Might be old, but everything is very good, nice personal, good food (a lot!) and very reasonable prices!

The location and the distance to dining options were very helpful. The staff's response was also friendly, and although the building was old and gave the impression of a traditional hotel, I was able to spend my time without any particular issues.
