This was my favorite hotel of the last couple years! I loved the marine-industrial theme vibe. The amenities were great, and the showerhead was heavenly. My dehumidifier made life so good. Everything was sparkling clean and the staff were so helpful and nice. The location was really good - close to Taipei Main Station and Ximen Station, and close to Ximending but not right on top of all the action so I could still sleep well.
My partner and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel Papa Whale during our trip to Taiwan. From the start, the service was thoughtful—they allowed us to store our luggage before check-in, which gave us time to explore the area without worry. The location is very convenient—just a few kilometers from Ximending and Ximen MRT Station, making it easy to get around. It was also close to the Hello Kitty-themed 7-Eleven. Our room was spacious enough for two, very clean, and the bathroom was modern and nicely designed. Daily housekeeping kept everything spotless, and we appreciated having a safety box and a hair blower in the room. One thing we did miss was a bidet, which would have been a nice addition. Breakfast was definitely a highlight. It’s included in the stay, and we were pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of delicious food—perfect for starting the day. The free candies at reception were a cute touch we both enjoyed. Overall, we found Hotel Papa Whale to be a great choice —comfortable, convenient, and full of little details that made our stay feel special. The lobby was very aesthetic. We'd happily stay here again!

Overall satisfied experience at Hotel PaPa Whale. We stayed for 5 nights and availed of their breakfast (buffet style where they served decent and delectable meals). Room is cleaned daily, provides bottled drinking water, instant coffee, and replaces towels and disposable sleepers. It was a pleasant surprise to come back in the evening with a fresh scent, clean and tidy room. Liquid bath and body soap are provided. Guests need to bring own bar soap for hand washing as well as own tooth brush and tooth paste. I liked the separate toilet and bath. Floor and hand towels were also changed daily. We stayed next to the laundry area (same location of the water dispenser) but was not bothered by any noise. We heard guests talking when passing by the corridors but it wasn't disturbing at all. Check-in and check-out is self-service but there were always front desk staff who were most helpful, pleasant and accommodating to provide assistance. We've requested for another night of extended stay in the same room, with an additional fee, and it was settled fairly quickly. We've also arranged for an airport service on return, at a cheaper rate compared to the rate I paid 5 years ago with a different hotel provider. In terms of the location, it's about 7-10 minutes walk to Ximen MRT station and close to the Ximending Walk. Wow, lots of food stalls, coffee and bubble tea shops and convenience stores nearby. The room rate is reasonable for a triple sharing room. The hotel vibe has the blends of modern nostalgia with their vintage decorations bringing memories of the past. This is highly recommended. We'd sure love to stay here next time we are back in Taipei. Thank you fr the superb service.
