"i wasn't expecting lodge 61 to be as good as i'd read. i've become a bit skeptical of hotels in bkk recently. and this one i booked less than a night. but it turned out to be amazing. well, amazing if you're a single traveler who doesn't need much more than a super clean room, incredibly fast and reliable wifi in the room, a safe location and a good shower. if you book here, just a few things to know. 1. ask for a room facing away from the bts. while it might be noisy in the day if construction is going on, when you face sukhumvit, you get traffic noise 24/7, and the bts can be quite loud as well when going by. the first part of my stay faced the bts and i had to sleep with earplugs. now i'm on the back end and it's quiet as could be. also, if you buy the wifi service, it's cheap if you buy 3 days for 100 baht. also, on about 4 of the floors there is a laundry machine for 30 baht a load. you can buy detergent at the am/pm just outside of the hotel. finally, in both stays i had to reset the wall-hanging shower heating thing. if you push the reset button, then push up the thing from below the device (ie, directly below the button, inside the machine) it should work ok. this is the best hot water device of this kind i've seen so far in thailand. anyway, i highly recommend the hotel."

"This hotel has everything you need and the best I ever experienced yet. The hotel has its own common room including a shared kitchen merely outside your room with kitchen essentials, such as: a coffee machine which allows you to help yourself free hot drinks with having to go out to the convenience shop, a microwave, fridge with free water bottles and a large dining table and a TV. The common room also has a balcony to enjoy the view. From staying at this hotel has allowed me experience what a enjoyable customer I got to be. Not only the staffs were always happy to help to carry my luggages to my room but they also went the extra mile in taken my intoxicated friend to her room and called the next morning to check up on her. If I visit Bangkok, I will definitely will be staying again and recommend anyone else who is reading to book at this hotel! I will not forget the staffs caring and professional service and the hotel itself!"

"this hotel is fantastically located in what is maybe bangkok's best neighborhood - the trendy thonglor area, with the best nightlife — with quaint bars like "iron fairies", "fat gutz" or "wtf", the many clubs around ekkemai where the well-heeled thais meet — much of the best dining and excellent transportation with nearby thong lo bts skytrain station. the hotel is very well kept and service is friendly, there are some drawbacks, though: — the rooms are very small, much smaller than in similarly priced hotels in other areas of bangkok. — the gym only includes cardio-training machines (treadmill and bicycles) and no options for weight-training at all: no free free weights, neither barbells nor dumbells, no bench, no lat-pulldown or butterfly type machines. this caveat should have been mentioned, it really isn't a gym at all. the café area around the pool is particularly nice, breakfeast is good and the à la carte menu of thai and western dishes served all day round is well priced and tasty. "I have never heard of Jasmine 59 until the day I booked this hotel. My wife and I wanted to rest in Bangkok before we head back to our home in Kanchanaburi so we booked a room to stay at the last minute. I was very satisfied with the hotel because it was really new and clean. The room was very spacious and literally, everything was new. However, the location isn't a five star because you have to walk quite far to grab a taxi or go to Thonglor Soi 11-15 area to eat. Getting there wasn't a problem because we drove but we had to take a taxi to go out for dinner because we knew we were going to have alcohol. Anyway I recommend this place if the location isn't a problem for you."

"We loved our stay here. We live just outside of Bangkok and stayed here for a couple nights in the city. Was a great location, about a 5 minute walk from the BTS. Loved being in Thonglor area and close taxi or walking distance to Ekkamai restaurants and coffee shops. Breakfast was not included, however it is just across the street from a Starbucks and next door to a bar/restaurant that is open 24 hours. It is a cool place to eat and not so expensive. We had breakfast there one morning and it was filling and cheap. The rooms are a bit small but very clean. They beds are very comfortable! And the shower has the best essential oil shampoo and body wash! The only drawback is the hallways can be really noisy, the acoustics are bad. People were quiet but the halls are made of cement so even people passing by was a bit loud. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here if you want an inexpensive, boutique style hotel. It is also just a short walk away from may massage places (Health Land) and Mikkeller Brewery. "

"The Ongkara is the perfect place to stay in Bangkok. It is very new and sparkling clean, well situated in Sukhumvit and in walking distance to nice places to eat. It was very quiet at night. But the best thing is the staff & the manager: they are amazing! There was a mix-up with a taxi booking and the manager, Prince, actually drove me to my meeting-point for free to make sure I would make my guided tour! That was service above and beyond any expectations! Thank you so much for that! Will definitely book with them again! "
