" If you are taking public transportation, it is a recommended to stay here. I drove there with a car, it was difficult to get my luggages to the hotel as there is no parking in front of lobby. Furthermore, the appointed car park is 2, 3 streets far from hotel. I faced traffic jam problem just to move my car from hotel to the car park (multi level under ground car park) after dropping off my luggages. the 5 minutes drive (suppose to be) became 30 minutes before another 10 minutes walk back from car park. Hotel will pays for 10 hours and the rest of your parking time will be paid by me which was fine with me. That was the bad points. The staff were OKAY, if you do not expect for a 5 star hotel performance you know what I mean. The best thing is there is a waterfront open space which you can see the beautiful night view and the life of the locals who coming out to this waterfront with friends and family. "

"Evergreen Laurel Hotel Keelung is the best hotel in Taiwan. The room only cost $70 per night which is great value for money for a 5 star hotel. The décor of the hotel was extremely posh and grand, and the hotel room was beautiful and homely. The hotel service was fantastic. Every day my room was cleaned and filled with biscuits, fruit, coffee, tea, water bottles, shampoo, lotion, soap, toothpaste, toothbrush, towels and so on FREE of charge. Room service was prompt and attentive, with hotel staff delivering newspapers every morning, and all ad-hoc requests like adaptors & plugs were seen to. There was free Wifi in the hotel room and amenities like the swimming pool, gym, sauna were available for usage FREE of charge every hour of the day. "A lovely clean room (but no window). Taiwan is a very humid place and some hotels smell musty. Not Keebe! Keebe was extraordinarily clean. One of the best hotels we've stayed at in Taiwan. The location is central to shops and restaurants as well as Keelung Harbor. The night market is simply around the corner....how's that for convenience? "

"The E-Coast Star Hotel allowed us to check in early and kept our bags for a time after we checked out. The staff was extremely pleasant and helpful and they spoke English very well. The beds are Western-style (read: not rock hard and quite comfortable), the shower was awesome, and the overall design was new and modern. We stayed in a room with a mini-fridge, huge flat screen TV, spa-like shower, and comfy king-size bed. The hotel provided everything you might have left behind - razor, comb, slippers, toothbrush, ...even a hair clip! The breakfast was waaaay better than expected for the price. There was an espresso machine, eggs, sausage, cabbage, salad greens, juice, milk, breads and jam. We left well-rested and full both days we stayed here. The hotel is situation between the famous (eh ;/ ) night market and the Keelung Station. Easy access to many attractions...must check out the hiking trails in Pingxi if you're up for a bit of an adventure;) The night market didn't live up to expectations, but we got our fill of cheap eats. Great experience - highly recommended hotel!"

"Located right opposite the Miao Kou Night Market, there are plenty of food and other shops right at doorsteps. However, not noisy for my room (at 4th level, they called it level 5 cos Chinese dislike the number 4). Staff during checkup is a young lady who provided me with all I need to know about public bus services to various attractions like Shifen and Heping Island. All buses within walking distance from hotel and the same MRT card can be used for MRT, buses and even trains. Room has its own hot/cold water dispenser and freeflow of 3-in-1 coffee is available at the check-in counter, they provide free condoms too (with a cute design cover). Wifi was strong except a breakdown of connectivity for a few hours during one of the nights (about 1am to 6am), not sure the reason. Spotted a small cockroach in the room, otherwise very clean and well-maintained. The room is very small though and there is no lift available, hence if you have huge bulky luggage, you may wish to book a higher tier room. I travel alone so it's just fine for me. Value for money for simple traveller like me. By the way, it's a 20-min walk from the hotel to Railway Station (if you know the route well, you can avoid all overhead bridges and underground passes, critical if you have huge luggage!)"

"We stayed in 探索私旅 Explorer hotel in Dec 2018 on the 9th floor . I booked a Quad room but was shock to find such a huge and nice design 2 level room when we entered. 1 huge dining table and a kitchen sink but no cooking. The toilet come with a huge bath tub and bath shower separately! I grade 6 stars design for toilet n facing a huge window. Up a few steps of the stair is tatami style room with 2 single mattress and 1 double mattress. Mattress is comfort not too hard or too soft. The room and toilet is very clean. The staff are helpful. Just 5 mins walk to the night market, surrounded with shopping and foods. Very good location if you just stay a night or 2 in Taichung. I will not hesitate to return again. We are very happy to stay in this hotel. Can collect coffee and tea bag at the lobby is FOC!"
