"We were pleasantly surprised with our stay here. The hotel is located in the Old City and close to a number of very interesting temples. As others pointed out, the bathrooms could use an upgrade but the hotel is clean, the beds comfortable, a large flat screen television with many English speaking channels. The Wi-Fi worked excellent in our room and everywhere in hotel. And did I mention they have a great little pool for cooling off after a hot day hiking around town? The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The front desk helped us book a trip to Chiang Rai and everything worked out great. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. You will be hard pressed to find a better value for the money. I'd also recommend booking your hotel with the included breakfast. The breakfast has a good selection of both western and Asian items and you could even get omelets or eggs cooked to order. Coffee, tea, juice, toast and a good selection of fresh fruits were also available. Next trip to Chiang Mai I won't need to research a place to stay, I'll be staying here."

"I booked a single room with shared bathroom. My room is not in the Nature Boutique Hotel as the pic shows, but in the next building of it. The facilities in the room are only a single bed with a pillow and blanket, and air conditioner. My room and the shared bathroom are clean. The shared bathroom has shampoo and soap, but there is no dryer in it. The price is its one advantage, and the location is another one! It’s quiet short distance to the nearby restaurants, massage stores, food stands and morning market. Well worth its price."

"We booked the Roseate Hotel for 2 nights and upon arrival wanted to stay for our full 5 nights in Chiang Mai but they were booked a couple other nights. This hotel was our best experience and value for money by far. We got a room upgrade simply because they had it available. The only thing it didn't include which most other hotels did was breakfast. The staff were very friendly upon arrival, and we left our bags (without any issues) at the hotel for 2 days while we went trekking in the northern hills. The rooms were spacious, the hotel was very well maintained with clean rooms, the rooms had functioning air conditioning, and the rooms had safety boxes. It was beneficial being on the perimeter of the old city as all drivers had no issue accessing our hotel, and everything within the city limits is in walking distance. There were plenty of delicious restaurants nearby. The only area this hotel was a little ways from was the night bizarre on the east end of the city. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would recommend this place to anyone looking to spend ~$40 CND/ night. "

"First up I don't get why the Top North is rated on places like Agoda lowly. I don't get it. OK, so it's a little bit on the high side on the cheap side of Chiang Mai. But here's only what I can guess reading the reviews: people do the Top North expecting a resort style deal and are naturally disappointed. This is Chiang Mail Thailand, you're paying $19-$23 dollars (US and AUD) a night and yet you expect a $100 a night service??? The reality is that the Top North will never be 5 stars, 4 stars, 3 starts although we're getting close. You are given a separate shower, balcony, decent TV channel spread, comfortable bed... they are things that are not always offered in Thailand. There's a pool you can swim in with bar near by.. it's nice. Is the place perfect: no, but is any place?? The roof in my bathroom needed work, and the fact I had to take my luaggage up two flights sucked.... But that's it. Again, it's not an amazing resort (really rare at this price range), but for the money it's great value. When I next head back to Chiang Mai I'll book there month on month (note they have a good rate for that.) "

"I stayed at the De Lanna a few times. What I found in the lining of the De Lanna is that first apperance isn't always what you think. The staff at the De Lanna might appear unwilling to help you as a customer. The staff is actually very kind and always willing to help. You just have to have a good time with them and the come out of their shy shells with a big smile. Vo Thanh Binh (Front Desk Coordinator)is a good man that works hard and enjoys life and hearing about yours, Somporn (Driver) one of the nicest person I've met in my 14 years traveling throughout Thailand sit out front have a chat and he'll tell you all you need to know, go to the bar say hello to Kanokporn Auii (Waitress/Cashier) and you'll see the beauty of Thailand in her smile and wish Vilavan Saepong (Housekeeping) a good afternoon and you'll receive a warm hello and genuine feeling that she will take care of your room and have your best interest a heart. Just let the staff get to know you and you'll feel like family."

"Previous reviews of this hotel are fair I think. I booked through Agoda app, specifically checking I was paying for a room with air conditioning. However, (and I've noticed this before) the booking came through to the hotel from Booking.com, and was for a Fan room. Not happy with Agoda for that, and will be complaining to them. So, I had to pay extra. The old boy concierge whispered several times about his ability to set me up with a massage by beautiful women, as mentioned in a previous review. No probs there- I found it quite funny. The owner of the hotel is a kindly man that works very hard and long hours. He told me the hotel belonged to his parents. It's a massive hotel, and I can understand previous reviews thinking that one day it will be bought up by a multinational hotel chain. The hotel has a swimming pool, but I didn't see it (not bothered about swimming pools). The hotel is tired and in need of updating, but it's in a good location in the old town, and is a great base"

"This place was one of the best places I have stayed and would totally recommend to any travelers. Everything was within a 5 min walk from the main clubs to some really good food spots and even the main temple in old town. It has excellent wifi, a good hang out location on a balcony that overviews the main street. You can rarely hear the noise from the street and if you need to change money there is a exchange office right next door. I originally booked 1 night and extend my stay the entire 8 days I was in Chiang Mai. Plus the stuff are very friendly and helpful as they will help carry your luggage to your room. The best part is they even sell beer in the lobby downstairs. I had multiple friends i met come in to hangout and they said they would of book there if they knew how nice it was. If i could give it a higher rating I would. Thank you Iris Hostel."
