Hotels near Si-Mum-Muang Central Market

I went to see Celine Dion concert at Impact Arena Bangkok and Ibis hotel is very near to it. You cab take a walk-way fly over from Ibis level 2 direct to Impact Arena. My hotel room was very clean and theit staff is all warm and smiling to their guest. Its like 15 minutes from Don Muang Airport but very far from the center of the town. It helps you beat the long traffic post concert if stay at town.

airasia into don muang airport.. taxi straight to novotel at impact. visiting impact for my bangkok motorshow work visit novotel is best choice right next to impact show halls.. the bathroom has 3 section glass partition wash basin. standing shower area. w/c bathroom has bathgel shampoo on a small holder next to wash basin. along with bar soap. closet has 2 robes, 2 slippers, umbrella. weighiing scale. in room safe. the mini bar and fridge items are chargeable i.e. liquors, can drinks, snacks, special packing mineral water etc. the free items are the coffee and tea sachets with sugar/creamer packs and 2 bottle plain water.. internet is wifi and rj45 lan. some extra sockets for electric plug in the wall .. has lcd tv bed is large and comfortable for me. dressing table/notebook/study table. 1 long sofa with coffee side table. near to walk across the walk bridge in day or night to impact show halls next door.. food is easy to find at the food area of impact building. after 3 nights there.. i have to say goodbye to bangkok motorshow and fly home to malaysia. all around has been a comfortable stay at novotel.

This hotel is not far from Don Muang International Airport, Government State Complex, Impact Muangthongthani Convention Center. It locales just opposite Central Plaza and Department store. It's really worth staying here in any objective. Gym and swimming pool are very proper and really help relaxing. View from the room in North facet is almost panoramic and really relaxing. I recommend Best Western Plus Vanda Grand hotel and will be back here in any reason for sure.

For those using Don Muang Airport for international or within-Thailand travel, Amari Don Muang Airport Bangkok Hotel is perhaps the most convenient location to rest at. The best thing about this hotel is that it is not near the crowded central Bangkok. But even if you decide to travel to inner Bangkok, taxi meter is not expensive. Don Muang area is very nice to be at. You can travel to Nonthaburi and Pathumthani very easily. If you're here for a shopping spree, The Mall at Nonthaburi, Central Rattanathibet, even Zeer Rangsit and Rangsit Futurepark are all alternatives and far from the beaten path. Food and drinks are available at the hotel, but I'd recommend you learn some basic Thai for conversation, which will help a great deal cos local food providers are just across the road from the hotel, with sane local prices. I picked up a black tea for 160B at the hotel lobby lounge. Across the road? 20B. So do consider learning basic colloquial Thai. Include it as your total travel experience. Learn the language, the culture... and I'm sure you'll be visiting Thailand again, and again... even though your flight is 12hrs far away. The hotel itself has a nice pool which is far from public view, perhaps only visible from the air. This is not a new hotel, but some renovations must have been done at some point in time so it's not terribly old. The rooms are generously big and spacious so no issues if you (and your mate) are giants. Room facilities are all modern and up-to-date. Flat screen tv, hot shower, toiletries... all at your finger's touch. Hotel facilities are also more than adequate. Lobby bar, restaurants, and even a bridge to get you direct from the hotel to/fro Don Muang Airport. Trust me, this bridge (airconditioned) will be very useful to use during the hot seasons, so that you won't have to reckon the heat and the sunlight. Staff at this hotel are all helpful and friendly. The Asia Airport Don Muang Hotel is a rather large property near the Don Muang airport in Bangkok. I booked this hotel using Agoda.com. It looks like it was built in the late 80’s or early 90’s although the rooms have been refurbished for sure. It is convenient to that north end of town near Rangsit, which is why I chose it. The hotel and the room were clean and met my wife’s and my needs perfectly for a hotel in that area to visit family. Room service is 24 hours and is very reasonably priced. The food was quite good and the portions good as well. Perfect for when arriving late in Bangkok. This is not a resort, but it is a clean, affordable hotel with a really nice staff. If that’s what you’re looking for – or you are looking for a hotel as you transit the Don Muang airport – this is a solid choice. Also good if you need accommodations in the Rangsit area. Reasonably priced, I have booked a stay there for when my wife and I come through Bangkok later this month.

After reading some of the reviews on this site and elsewhere, I expected the room to be somewhat dated and tattered. That was not the case at all. We had a beautiful, large and very comfortable room on the 11th floor of the hotel. We arrived late afternoon from BKK airport and had a morning flight out of Don Muang the following day, so didn't have much time to enjoy all the hotel has to offer. But we nice make a splash in the huge and beautiful rooftop swimming pool (5th flooor), had a delicious buffet dinner of fresh shell fish, sushi, freshly prepared thai food made to order, soups, salads, fruits and more! A The breakfast buffet so-so foot massage in the spa had to be booked and was enjoyed before bed time. The room is well equipped and furnished with comfortable bed and pillows. After a great nights rest, we were ready for the great variety on offer at the breakfast buffet and then the free shuttle to Don Muang airport.

we return to rama gardens every year (6 times and counting) to enjoy the peaceful grounds before and after our busy days in bangkok and beyond. we have been extremely pleased with the quality of dinners in the main restaurant where we also take the morning buffet breakfast. the rooms are extremely comfortable and well-maintained. the staff is friendly and helpful to a fault. we took advantage of the free shuttle buses to go to the weekend market and to and from the central plaza area (2 different shuttle buses). the closeness to the don muang (domestic) airport is a big plus, too.

The Journey Hotel is one of the best minimalist hotels I have stayed in. This hotel has a business hotel feel to it and is very close to Don Muaeng Airport. It is perfect if you want to catch an early flight from Don Muaeng. The rooms are very very spacious! The price is very affordable and the staff there go out of their way to help you despite their lack of English conversation skills. You should keep in mind that this hotel is close to Don Muaeng. Which implies that it is far from the central Bangkok and all the attractions. It'll be a good 1 hr taxi ride in one direction considering there is no traffic congestion. The hotel doesn't have its own restaurant but there some nice local and European food options at a stone's throw. This is a perfect stopover hotel and I would definitely book it again if I have an early morning flight from Don Muaeng.

We booked a night here, as we were catching an early morning flight from Don Muang Airport. The surrounding area is not at all "touristy", but we enjoyed a couple of beers and a delightful local meal at a small nearby restaurant. The hotel was very clean and the bed comfortable. The staff were delightful and because the shuttle bus was oversubscribed in the morning, one drove us to the airport in his own car. Great people!

Louis Tavern was comfortable room at a fair price. My wife, teen age son, and I were on vacation and wanted to stay in the Don Muang area. The rooms and the hotel are recently renovated and quite nice. Although the hotel had a very nice restaurant, there are a variety of small, inexpensive restaurants just a short walk away, which fit our preferences. We did get the breakfast option and there was a nice variety each morning. Certainly, Louis Tavern is a good option for a traveler in the Don Muang area of Bangkok.

the hotel is in good size grounds set back from main road but not noisy at all. It's not a modern boutique hotel but an older style though the rooms are larger and very clean. There is a large car park in front which unfortunately was full due to a meeting there but there was parking at the rear, if there is a meeting the place is busy, you can't sit in reception and breakfast is busy BUT the staff were very helpful and speak acceptable English, We were upgraded for free to a deluxe room with a fruit platter, gowns, slippers, bath tub, minibar, safe, sofa and chairs and we weren't disturbed from neighbours or the hallway as they have covered the tiles with carpet. We actually had a good night sleep, the bed was very comfortable with 4 pillows and there were black out curtains.The buffet breakfast was pretty good with quite a large choice of foods . There is also a coffee shop and alternative restaurant there. The lift has signs for fitness, massage , sauna and pool, none of which are at the hotel any more. They have been closed since March 2015 and are being relocated to a new area and not expected to be completed for another 2 years ! Internet wasn't the fastest but it was free and worked. Next to the hotel is a small night market selling local foods and a short walk, as well as a 7-11 convenience store and across the road (use the footpath) is a mall called the Avenue which has a mix of foods, Pizza, Korean, Japanese and Sizzler ( steaks, burgers, salad bar).. We were there as we had to visit the Government offices a short 500m walk away so it was very convenient for us. Overall it's a great hotel in a great position but don't be surprised if there is a meeting on, this won't ruin your stay but it's not a quiet hotel.

The hotel is ideal for congress and business meetings. The hotel is clean and tidy, with a staff trying to do the best in serving your needs best possible. The rooms are in very good condition and kept clean and nice. Also an important thing is that the hotel is located near to Don Muang airport which is only 10 min drive away. The stay was very positive, and I can only say that I would book this again if needed.

I took this hotel due to my early morning flight the nextday. Its located far from any tourist destination. 7eleven is about 500m away. Tesco 1km away. Its facing Shell petrol station. Theres nothing much here. Most taxi dont know where it is located. Need to call the hotel for location. Plus is its about 25mins to Don Muang international Airport. Trip cost bth88 only. If you taking the taxi from airport to the hotel they overcharge us bth600! Breakfast spread was sufficient. Room was clean on the 5th floor. Very well design. Lobby is inviting.

This hotel is best for staying if u have a connecting flight from DMK or BKK There is a fashion island mall close by which is good for branded shopping stuff if you have some time. Otherwise typical markets and tourist attractions are far from this hotel. This is not a tourist area at all. I didn't find any restaurants with menus in english. Otherwise in Bangkok tourist areas, all restaurants have bi lingual menus.

I would definitely stay there if travelling via Don Muang again. Not cheap but so many bad reviews about places near Don Muang that we chose this one. Small room is only complaint but lots of power points for recharging or other stuff. A request for a 6am Taxi was handled well and phone contact in the morning to advise on his expected arrival time. Everything we needed for the night before a trip. Left too early to be able to comment on the included breakfast we had to miss out on.

The hotel is clean and tidy and very near to Don Mung airport, It is perfect as a 1 night stay as a place to stay before travelling from DMK. The best feature for me, was the car park there. It is covered, very large and locked - very secure. It costs 100 baht a night, first night free as you have booked a room there. The room is OK for one night, clean and functional and costs around 700 baht. The hotel is very hard to find even though it is very close to DMK. There is a free shuttle sevice to DMK, but it only runs at 6am and 7am. Taxi from the hotel to DMK is around 100 baht. I stayed there 1 night and parked for 9 days and the cost for parking was 800 baht. I was very pleased to stay here overnight as we had a very early morning flight to Korea and it meant we did not have to miss a nights sleep with all the extra travelling to DMK, Very relaxing and stress free (well reduced anyway!).

Ebina Hotel is really really near don muang airport that's why a few airport cab drivers seemed hesitate to drive us, so we didn't want to bargain when the taxi counter staff charged us 200baht. From hotel to airport, the very nice lady cab driver used meter and the fare was about 100 baht only. Hotel to Chatuchak market is not too far but the journey back is further due to one-way road and cab driver have to drive pass the hotel on the other side of the road towards airport then u-turn after IT Mall. After passing by two 7-11, ask the driver to turn left into the lane , you will see the tall hotel on the left. The hotel surrounding might look remote at first, but after exploring, in fact it's quite happening. There is a big spa & massage place next door(staff quite friendly), and a restaurant (in residential house setting) which serves very very yummie thailand food, many local customers, we ate there every night-big bone soup, papaya salad, bbq fish, etc. all are really aroi, price reasonable and staff are friendly, miss the food... There is a market right next to the hotel too which opens in the morning till around 1pm, yummie food & lots of stuff to buy. There are also several convenient stores outside the hotel. Staff of Ebina Hotel are very friendly & helpful, especially Ms Chanchao & Kat-sorry if I spell your name wrongly :). Concierge always willing to walk all the way outside the hotel to call for cab for us. The room we stayed is very spacious, comfortable and clean. We like the breakfast too, many variety, fruits, salad, noodle, etc. Will stay in this hotel again.

Hotel is fantastic. The only downside is the location to city centre. I would not recommend going to or from the hotel to the city centre during peak hour traffic, it will take up to two hours (usually 20-30 mins without traffic) so just book something closer to the city if you plan to do most of your sightseeing there. A taxi to and from the city centre (depending on time of day and taxi driver) will cost you 300-500 baht. There are lots of good coffee and food places a short walking distance from the hotel. Good location to DMK international airport (7 mins) Chatuchak market & JJ Green night market. Safe travels.

Pros: 1) close to Don Muang airport, 2) a very good restaurant only a few steps away, called Hidden Backyard, 3) shopping mall about 500m, called Tesco Lotus. Cons: If you plan to stay in Bangkok for a few days, this hotel is quite far away from the city centre. You would better book something more central and not be stuck in traffic and spend money on taxis, if you want to see the city. Overall, I would really recommend this hotel, if your stay is connected with a travel from Don Muang Airport.

This hotel is very new and clean. The room is very good and big. The bed is very comfortable and nice. I love it here. Will come back again. The staff is really really nice. She helped me with everything. They even provided free dessert when I came back from work. Breakfast is very good. They change menu every single day. Especially dessert, it is very varieties. The hotel also has a free bike in case you do not have a car to go out. You will love it here.

Chaeng Wattana traffic is legendary. I often work in the area and like to stay overnight to beat the traffic. You won't find a place with similar rates near Impact Muang Thong Thani that has parking, so I chose this hotel as it is close to 'the back way.' Room was super clean and comfy, neighborhood quiet (if you chase the soi dogs away) and staff friendly and helpful.

The reviews were right, very clean hotel, everything looks like new, you can see that the owners care about detail, made a cozy place. Large rooms, large fridge, good wi fi, good aircon, everything works well. You can walk there from the airport if you have light luggage, the hotel can give you instructions. The hotel people are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended if you flight through Dong Muang airport. The area around the hotel is mainly typical Thai, there is a local market nearby, but you can take a taxi to Future Park Mall, just 12 minutes, less than 90 baht and you'll be at a very large mall with plenty of good places to eat and Central, Robinson & Big C department stores and supermarket.

We stayed there with kids and major factor to book it was that it is close to airport and it has swimming pool. The pool was on the roof and our kids loved it. Hotel restaurant is good and inexpensive. There are plenty of local family restaurants nearby as well as shops and market places so the hotel has perfect location. I recommend to go outside and try local service as this is very cheap and very local. It is not a tourist area so you can try Thai.

this is the first time I stay at this hotel but I found it great stay very quite small hotel I think only 40 rooms best ones are ground floor as soon as you open patio doors the swimming pool right there to jump in the swimming pool clean. the breakfast is ok more like a continental breakfast but they did start putting one hot meal out each day the food places around hotel not look good but the taste is to die for and great no tummy problems. the staff very helpful only speak little English but they understand and great price I booked through agoda.com better than deal direct with hotel. and only 15 min drive to airport in taxi about 100 thb = £2.00 great price

I booked a triple room for 2 nights and it was a good stay. + The hotel is located in a nice location which is easy to reach shopping and food area. + The staffs were friendly and helpful. + The room was old but it was clean enough. - The facilities (television, fridge) in the room were old - They was no drain stopper for bathtub so I could not take a bath and had to take a shower in the bathtub( which was quite uncomfortable) - The pillows were uncomfortable.

This is an amazing hotel. Its position on the river, its architecture, the clapboard interior of the rooms, the nineteenth century furniture all reminded me of nothing so much as an old Confederate Plantation House or a new Mississippi River Casino. It is a beautiful hotel, and we loved our brief stay there. If it were downriver, near the Sheraton and Shangri-la, we'd opt for it every time we are in Bangkok. But it is nowhere near the center of touristic Bangkok. We booked it because it seemed to be near Don Muang airport where we had flown in and from which we were flying out again next day. The hotel wanted 1000 baht for transport from the airport: that should have been my first clue that the hotel wasn't really close to Don Muang. (An airport limo to Silom costs the same!) The car we booked at the airport cost 850, but took fifty minutes to find the hotel. It's way to the west and way too far to visit the downtown itself. Thus, I can see how other reviews call this hotel a perfect getaway from Bangkok. It gets one far away indeed. But as a transit hotel or as a hotel from which to tour Bangkok, it might as well be on the Mississippi. BTW, a metered taxi got us from the hotel to Don Muang in forty minutes for 140 baht!!! The hotel's Thai restaurant is housed in a beautiful ante-bellum hall and a vast adjoining pier along the riverside. The fresh sea bass was magnificent. In-room internet was weak.
