"Hard to find a modestly priced hotel right on the river and this small hotel is a gem. Take the local Chao Phrya River ferry to the Phra Atithit Pier and walk a few meters to the hotel. Situated next to Khao San Road and a short walk to the National Museum and all the main temples. Taxis very available - but make sure they use the meter. Tuk-tuks will charge too much for the ride. Beware. Very clean hotel with lovely staff. Reception speaks very good English and are most willing to help. Breakfast is fresh and has many choices including fresh fruit, eggs to order, and either pancakes or french toast that is made while you eat. The restaurant has many choices using fresh ingredients at affordable prices. The restaurant is right on the river with ferries and dinner cruise ships providing a nightly show. "

"We started our Thailand trip at Chillax Resort in a premium room facing the street. It was beautiful. The hotel had arranged flowers and towel art for our anniversary. The tub is enormous! We liked the resort so much, we stayed again at the end of our trip. Chillax Heritage is in the best location in Bangkok. It is within easy walking distance to the river, where you can buy boat tickets to take you to most of the main temples and attractions in Bangkok. It is also within easy walking distance to Khaosan Road, where you can find delicious food and amazing cheap massages. The hotel is serene, clean, and quiet. We loved it! "

"Extended family trip of 11 people, total 5 rooms, stayed for 2 nights here at Riva Surya Hotel. It was our favourite accommodation out of our 13 day trip in Thailand. Would recommend to everyone (business & family). :) The hotel had it's grand-opening in September 2012, so everything was still very new and clean. The interior is modern, sophisticated and charming. We found the hotel had a very calm atmosphere, which was always nice to come back to after a really hot and grubby day out. Also it's quite new so many of the taxi drivers don't know of it. Location is great, with the Chao Phraya Boat dock literally behind the hotel (1 minute walk along pier), which takes you to all the tourist destinations in Bangkok (Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Wat Arun etc.) Meals are also decent here. Breakfast (included in room rate) was delicious and had a small yet good selection. We also order a-la-carte lunch to eat by the poolside one day - pizza, pasta, fish and chips etc. - the price was quite decent for a hotel restaurant and taste was good! The best feature of this hotel would have to be the pool with an amazing view of the Chao Phraya River. It's not a huge pool, but if I were in Bangkok again, I would even consider spending a day just relaxing by the poolside of this hotel. Quite serene. They have free wifi, and also a few apple computers for guests to use on the ground floor for free. We all agreed that the only downside to this hotel was the service. The male staff are extremely kind, professional and always tried to help us with a smile. The female staff, however, were extremely rude, unprofessional and rarely smiled. For example, even if we go to the reception desk and stand there patiently waiting (for literally 3-5 minutes), they don't even look up and just ignore you. Every time I approached them to ask a question (and I'm not a fussy guest) they would grimace in annoyance and tone of voice always annoyed. Overall a great hotel! "
