"We were pleasantly surprised with our stay here. The hotel is located in the Old City and close to a number of very interesting temples. As others pointed out, the bathrooms could use an upgrade but the hotel is clean, the beds comfortable, a large flat screen television with many English speaking channels. The Wi-Fi worked excellent in our room and everywhere in hotel. And did I mention they have a great little pool for cooling off after a hot day hiking around town? The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The front desk helped us book a trip to Chiang Rai and everything worked out great. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. You will be hard pressed to find a better value for the money. I'd also recommend booking your hotel with the included breakfast. The breakfast has a good selection of both western and Asian items and you could even get omelets or eggs cooked to order. Coffee, tea, juice, toast and a good selection of fresh fruits were also available. Next trip to Chiang Mai I won't need to research a place to stay, I'll be staying here."

"I booked a single room with shared bathroom. My room is not in the Nature Boutique Hotel as the pic shows, but in the next building of it. The facilities in the room are only a single bed with a pillow and blanket, and air conditioner. My room and the shared bathroom are clean. The shared bathroom has shampoo and soap, but there is no dryer in it. The price is its one advantage, and the location is another one! It’s quiet short distance to the nearby restaurants, massage stores, food stands and morning market. Well worth its price."

"We booked the Roseate Hotel for 2 nights and upon arrival wanted to stay for our full 5 nights in Chiang Mai but they were booked a couple other nights. This hotel was our best experience and value for money by far. We got a room upgrade simply because they had it available. The only thing it didn't include which most other hotels did was breakfast. The staff were very friendly upon arrival, and we left our bags (without any issues) at the hotel for 2 days while we went trekking in the northern hills. The rooms were spacious, the hotel was very well maintained with clean rooms, the rooms had functioning air conditioning, and the rooms had safety boxes. It was beneficial being on the perimeter of the old city as all drivers had no issue accessing our hotel, and everything within the city limits is in walking distance. There were plenty of delicious restaurants nearby. The only area this hotel was a little ways from was the night bizarre on the east end of the city. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would recommend this place to anyone looking to spend ~$40 CND/ night. "

"Gord Nuea is conveniently located right in the middle of Old City, and is just a stone throw away from the famous Sunday Night Market and Wat Chedi Luang. As a small boutique hotel, there aren’t much facilities to speak of, but the owners Mr Nong and his wife, Nom, more than make up for it with their attention to details and very warm hospitality. They arranged for a day tour for me to Doi Inthanon and I was pleasantly surprised that they packed sandwiches for me in view that I had to depart very early in the morning. Mr Nong also prepared a very good latte for me as a special treat! Overall, I would say that you could possibly get a cheaper hotel stay elsewhere, but if you’re looking for exclusivity and quietness away from the bustle of the Old City, Gord Nuea is my choice and I don’t regret it one bit! Thank you, Mr Nong and Nom for your service and warmth!"

"Normally, you don't expect much from a hostel, this one definitely gave you some surprise. The breakfast is simple but decent, you can get 3 kinds of bread, one dish to share with everyone, usually chicken with veggies, tomato and salad, as well as eggs, which is perfectly boiled, I'm not a fun for boiled egg, but here they are delicious! The room are super clean, and with all the things you gonna need (for girls, can't say for the boys tho), hairdryer, Q-tip and towel (with a deposit). Location is superb, too! It took 10 mins walk to Wat Phra Singh and Wat Chiang Man respectively. We didn't book anything from the hostel, but the staff are very nice, always smile and greet their customers. I did try to book a shooting activity from the hostel, but apparently the pamphlet I found inside the hostel is not "permitted" by the hostel. Very confusing... All in all, it was a great stay."

"Luckily i was here with my partner otherwise i would’ve had a different thought in this hostel. We absolutely loved the cooking class (Saturday was pad Thai night) in the front courtyard. It was delicious and so much fun to cook! The following morning they offered free yoga also in the courtyard (Mat provided). It was a great class & im so appreciative of the perks. In addition, breakfast was great & accommodating! For the negatives: People keep to themselves & i felt awkward talking, even in the common areas. After attempting to chit chat with fellow travelers, i got the weird vibes that people just wanted to be left alone. We got back to the hostel around 10:15pm & my entire room was asleep! The entire hostel pretty much goes to sleep at 10 & you’re left sitting in the common area reading a book. But i realized why everyone goes to sleep early... i was woken up (i was in room B) by the bass of the jazz music they blast in the common area.. AT 7am. No it’s not one of those you can sleep through, it’s booming through the walls. The beds are comfortable & i slept very well but you have to be kidding me. I woke up agitated & instead of staying another night, we decided to leave. Great for the free cooking & yoga class. Poorly rated for the lack of socializing & consideration."

"Our stay was great. The tour booking team was beyond helpful in guiding us to the best things for our available time in Chiang Mai. We had laundry service done while there. The breakfast is good and there are several choices. The location is great as it is just inside the moat but lots of shops, Wats, and pubs are walking distance away. Nice pool area. Our room was decent. The a/c wasn't always cooling the room but did help move the air around so it was still comfortable. The bathroom was a little dark and the shower was a large step up (felt a bit enclosed when in it) but otherwise wonderful!!"
