“It wasn't as good as the reviews.”
I had high expectations because there were so many positive reviews about the kindness here. Although I continuously encountered the owner during my stay, it felt uncomfortable that she didn't greet me once. I arrived around 1 PM, thinking I would have to wait for the 2 PM check-in, but I was a bit taken aback when they immediately mentioned an early check-in fee of 200 Baht, especially since most places allow you to check in if the rooms are empty. When I returned in the evening after leaving my luggage, I saw that only our bags were sitting in the lobby, which was amusing. Other hotels usually take your bags up to the room. It was mentioned that a welcome drink was provided when I booked, but I didn’t receive any. It also stated that tea would be provided, but there was none in the room or the shared kitchen, only instant coffee. It wasn’t too important, so I just bought some, but it was disappointing that nothing they claimed would be provided was actually available. I read in reviews that there were simple snacks or fruits offered, but during my stay, there was only water available, and I only saw fruit on the last day before checking out. Since it's provided as a courtesy, I’m not complaining about its absence, but the other hotels I stayed at before and after were so friendly and pleasant... The shower filter here was the dirtiest among the places I stayed, and there were many ants in both the kitchen and the room. I was cautious not to eat snacks in the room for fear of attracting ants, but they were crawling on the bed sheets, which was bothersome. In any case, inconsistent service isn’t a good thing. Given its good location in the Old City and affordable price, I would recommend it if you can tolerate those aspects.
