Did you find this review summary helpful?
On the first night of my stay, I was having a hard time sleeping because I had a breakdown from my dogs passing. I was able to sleep eventually, only to be awaken around 3AM by a woman from another bed who seems to live there full-time and also is part of the cleaning staff. She was flipping my body, speaking in Chinese I think, which I don't understand. I didn't know what was happening, but I was scared. The next night, she showed a message she translated, stating that I snored so loud, which I understood, given that I had a clogged nose from crying. She made me sleep a certain direction (sideways), which I had no issue doing. This time, my nose was no longer clogged. But when I turned with face facing up to breathe properly, she hovered over my bed, forcing me to sleep sideways again even when I was no longer snoring, shouting at me in Chinese. I was panicking deep inside, not knowing what to do. My chest was heavy, and I just couldn't wait for my stay to end so I don't have to deal with her anymore.
I stayed at BEAT. Arts Hostel @ Chinatown from March 28 to 29 and had a satisfying experience. This hostel is strategically located in the heart of Chinatown, close to various tourist attractions such as Sri Mariamman Temple and Buddha Tooth Relic Temple, as well as surrounded by food centers like Maxwell Food Centre, Hong Lim Market, and Chinatown Complex. The hostel's interior is decorated with artwork from local and international artists, creating a unique and appealing atmosphere. There are various room options available, including mixed dorms and female-only dorms, all equipped with air conditioning, free Wi-Fi, personal lockers, and other amenities. During my stay, I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, although some reviews mentioned that the rooms could feel stuffy after a few days without cleaning. It is worth noting that the stairs leading to the rooms are quite steep, which may pose a challenge for guests with large luggage. Overall, BEAT. Arts Hostel @ Chinatown offers comfortable accommodations with a strategic location and affordable prices, making it a great choice for travelers looking to explore Chinatown and the surrounding areas.

The hostel itself is comfortable and one of the cheapest options in Singapore, it is worth the cost. However, the other guests at this hostel were the most rude I have ever encountered at the 80+ hostels I have traveled through. Taking calls all night long, chatting, laughing, turning lights on at all hours, and anything else throughout all night. While this isn't necessarily the hostels fault, it would be nice if they were more intentional of telling guests that there are quiet hours during the night, as most guests seem to lack any basic respect for others.
Hey ! Thank you for your kind words. Great to hear that you enjoyed your stay at BEAT Hostel. See you in a BEAT.

“Clean & Cozy Place ”
I stayed at this hostel during F1 week, and I can honestly say my room was amazingly clean and comfortable. Despite all the negative reviews I read on Google and other platforms, I didn’t experience any of those issues during my stay. The staff cleaned the hostel daily from the main area, dining space, to the bathroom. Although the bathroom was a bit narrow, it didn’t bother me at all. I was also really glad to find that one of the WCs even had a bidet! My room was super cold, the AC worked perfectly, so no worries about sweating at all. Another huge plus is the location: it’s just a 5–7 minute walk to two MRT stations, and getting back to the airport is super convenient, just one transfer and you’re there. Overall, I’d definitely recommend this hostel to any solo traveler looking to explore Singapore easily & conveniently.
