Kathu hotels & places to stay

Everything was nice about this resort apart from the fact it"s quite far from... evrything. You do get a free shuttle to go to Patong beach several times a day, but you need to spend at least 400B to get back + the staff cannot apparently call tuktuks, only expensive taxis to get you somewhere... This was the main drawback but don't let it overshadow the rest which was great: - the pool is huge, 'infinity' style, very nice - the restaurant is opened from morning to night and is very affordable and good! - the bar can prepare you cocktails, smoothies and mocktails for good prices - the highlight of the hotel i think is the SPA! We had the most amazing massages thanks to the staff, the nicest Thai lady we got to meet. And very affordable again! - breakfast was a buffet with a big variety of stuff. Whatever you like you'll be happy - the rooms were large and the bathroom nice -the staff is super friendly and mostly the manager who is a very professional lady knows everything about southern Thailand. She will help you get wherever you want and book your tickets for you. She is the best!

highly recommended, we arrived late at night, make sure to tell the taxi driver that the hotel is in kathu and not in rawai because he took us to the wrong hotel. evone the manager is super cute and helpful, and when she knew that we're in our honeymoon she upgraded us to a bigger room, no extra charge added. she also helped us find trips and places to visit. i would love to go back, you'll not find a better place in phuket.

The place is very clean and we felt right at home. it would be nice to have a Kettle to heat up water and maybe a small welcome kit containing toilet paper and soap. An extra blanket would have been nice since it does get cold in the evening with the A/C on. I also suggest fixing the wifi password on the key - its the wrong one and previous guests were kind enough to leave a piece of paper with the right wifi password.

I'm pretty tame about my reviews. That said, I stayed at Pause Kathu for 2 weeks and can say it is awesome. I stayed in the dorm room. The facilities were great. The staff, Yai and Joe, are both friendly and helpful and just great human beings to meet. These guys really take care of you. The clientele who move through this intimate hostel were always interesting and friendly as well. I will certainly head back to this place when I'm through Phuket again.

I have mixed feelings about this hotel. I start with the good stuff: The rooms and the hotel itself si completely new! In our room, there has been still some plastic cover over some plugs etc. because they were completely new. So the rooms themselves were nice and of course clean and modern. The staff was nice and the people at the restaurant also have been very friendly. The airport pick-up was for a reasonable price (800BTH). But unfortunately, the hotel is in the middle of nowhere! There is the golf course but thats it. There is also no shuttle or anything to the beach and you are very for away from eveything interesting in Phuket. The bathrooms were nice and modern but way to small for a 5 star hotel. also the breakfast was not satisfying as you have to choose between american and asian breakfast and you get 1 plate and 1 coffee and that's it. no buffett, no nothing. I booked the hotel because we were arriving pretty late in phuket and I wanted to have a cheap hotel but with good standard for that 1 night. Therefore, it fit my purposes and I liked it but I would not recommend the hotel to anyone who actually plans to stay longer than 1 night.

In general not bad condo but: 1. The kitchen is understaffed. There is no kitchen stove, not enough utensils, there is no tea, sugar, salt and other things that are uncomfortable to buy, since they are needed in small quantities, but sold only in large batches. 2. There is not service at all. No reception, no one met us when we arrived. The guard for a long time could not understand who we are and what we want from him. Then he called out a woman who telephoned somewhere, figuring out what to do with us. And only then we were settled into a room. After we did not see any personnel at all. Even guard dissapeared somewhere. Also nobody came to clean our room on the second day or to refill shampoo, shower gel and toilet paper. So if you are going to stay here be prepared to receive a room without services. 3. 'Lake view' is deception. You will not see any lake: the lake is hidden behind tall trees. And under these trees garbage was dumped. So it isn't lake view, it's 'tree + garbage' view

We (my son & I) chose this hotel for 1 night because it was really close to some attractions, mainly for us the Go-kart tracks (Patong Go-karts is the best imho), well it was a short 3-5 min walk from a number of attractions. The hotel is well away from the Patong throng, as I said we specifically chose it to suit a purpose. Another reason for selecting it was the pictures and reviews of the swimming pool ...... the reality is that I would not dip a toe into that pool .... the water was green and greasy looking and no shade available around it .... when I questioned the young man at reception (he was the only good receptionist I encountered), he advised me that the owners won't employ enough staff to look after the pool and couldn't tell me the last time it had been cleaned.... The young woman at reception seemed only to be interested in trying to get us to undertake overpriced taxi rides arranged by her and gave wrong advice a number of times .... We did not eat there so I can not comment .... but there is a reasonably large clean restaurant attached to reception. The rooms are excellent, very large and clean with tea/coffee making facilities. The best rooms are on the back side facing away from the street and look out onto a strip of tropical vegetation. The rooms facing the street have no privacy from neighbours when the curtains are open and are hotter and noisier than the backside rooms. If they lift there game and even charge a couple of $ more per night to make the most of the potential I'm sure it would make this a great alternative hotel for Phuket. The price at around $34AUD is pretty good for this area.... but please maintain the pool and provide some shade.

I visited hotel 3-d time. As always it gives you mere cosy room conditions. I wouldn't say that this hotel has two stars (I would say that this is not hotel at all - motel may by). However wakeboarding, brilliant atmosphere, primal nature in the evening and sport sport sport - this is what we are looking for when we come here. If you consern about ocean and beaches you can rent a motobike right here and go wherever you wish.

Khun Kwan is an amazing host. We arranged to meet at Latika mansion and she had me settled in within minutes. She even offered to arrange a motorbike rental for me at a very affordable rate. Friendly, motherly and the best landlady I've ever had :) Latika mansion is midway between the madness of Patong and laid back Phuket Town and a few minutes ride away from Central Festival Department Store. The local foods & fruits shops 2 mins walk away from Latika mansion provides a feast of food every night.

First off, the place given in Agoda is not true. The taxi that drove us there have to call and round the area until it was found. Upon arrival, the villa is big and looks nice but it could be better if the cleanliness level to be improve as the sofa pillows some are smelly and with lizard poops. However, upon complaints to the owner, they immediately rectify the issue kudos to them. Since the place is out of nowhere, they also help us to take-away foods and drinks conveniently for us. The cafe operated by the owner is also cheap and good. The pool is good enough for 8 of us. We had dinner just a stone throw away near the villa and it was superb, probably the best food i had in phuket as i stayed in patong before i came here. Overall im satisfied but it could be better

I go for my first time in Thaïlande and I stay in several hôtel. So the best place I chose it's "step23 by tropasia". The appartement is very spacious, cosy and very clean. The king size bed is very confortable like a international 5stars hôtel... The place is very peace and just at 3mîn from the center of patong. And The best is the amazing view with the sunset Time, what else. The staff and the owner was take are of my all my holidays: you can rent motobike, book all the day trip with very good price...
