Magical experience”

I was in a 6-person room that almost always had only 4 of us (except for the last night when somehow someone was added at 3am). The 3 others were extremely respectful, quiet and kind. Bathrooms and common areas always clean. What I loved most about this place was the friendliness of the people staying in the hostel. In the big common area, while there were a few sitting by themselves on their laptops or phones, most were actually socializing with others. Cooking together, sharing a drink together, playing board games, checking out the town. I met the most amazing people passing through there. One wonderful person named Martin was my favorite. He took me for tours every day of the town and helped me to feel at home. They should pay him for his services (or at least offer him free housing) since he does this kindness for everyone new to the hostel. Maybe they can use him to replace the strange one who they just hired maybe a month ago that scares the guests.

Big, elegant building, in a key location.”

I guess for a hostel it's fine, but staying there reminded me why I like hotel rooms. I'm sure for Dublin/Europe it was a fair price, but I couldn't help pining for my huge room and private bath I had in Thailand last moth, for exactly half this price! Lots of snoring, farting, putzing around at late hours... If I can afford it I'm avoiding hostels!

Pretty good for backpackers or a short trip”

Obviously, the place isn't the most luxurious but you have everything you need. I was in a mixed 6 bedroom and had no problems whatsoever. The hostel is on a very loud street which can be problematic if you are a light sleeper. The kitchen has everything you need to make food. And the bathrooms are pretty clean although you can't adjust the water temp in the sink (cold) or shower (hot).

Cheapest accomodation I could find in Dublin during weekdays. The roommates were not really talkative but very considerate, not making noise or turning on lights in the middle of the night. Staff itself kept talking and explaining at a minimum. The included breakfast was ok.
