          “Excellent, with caveats”

Spacious private room in a cozy little house with a wonderful hot spring bath at a hard to beat price point. Quite excellent! However, do be aware of a few caveats that may be dealbreakers for some people. Probably the biggest possible issue is the heater, which requires occasional ventilation and which turns itself off every few hours. May render the room a little on the cold side especially in winter - but that's where the unlimited use hot spring bath comes in handy! Next, it gets very quiet in the neighborhood come nightfall. Most businesses will be closed, but there is a convenience store you can get to a short walk away that sells food boxes that they can warm up for you. I actually really enjoyed the ones I bought - just make sure you get yours before 7pm.

          “I was able to relax.”

It was written that check-in was from 3 PM to 4 PM, so I hurried to arrive within that time, but the woman at the reception said she was unable to make corrections and was troubled by it. It seems the final check-in is at 11 PM. The bath I was looking forward to was too hot, and I couldn't stay in for long, but the cloudy water made my skin smooth. The entrance had a sign indicating "Available" or "In Use," so I didn't have to share the bath with others; it felt like a private bath. The bathtub was quite deep. There was solid soap and shampoo available. The room can only be locked from the inside, so I had no choice but to leave valuables with the staff. There’s no way to boil water, so the only option is the kettle they bring during check-in. I think they would boil it for you if you ask. I am very satisfied to have been able to stay at this price during the New Year’s holiday. I could relax. Thank you very much.

“The host was very friendly and the location was also convenient.”

The homeowner is a grandmother, very kind and warm-hearted. We left at eight o'clock and specially received breakfast at the door at seven thirty. A very good accommodation choice! It's not far from Gora Station either.

          “Relaxed”

Thank you for welcoming us so kindly. - Location → It was about a 15-20 minute walk from Gora Station. It was a bit tough going uphill because of the slope. - Hot springs → The water was hot and made my body feel warm! - Cleanliness → Since it is deep in the mountains, there were ants and mosquitoes. It may not be suitable for those who dislike insects. The facilities felt a bit old, so it may not be for those who prefer things to be shiny and new. - Atmosphere → It was a spacious Japanese-style room where I could relax. It had the image of a well-loved house. The location was very quiet. - Meals → It was a lodging without meals, but in the morning, they placed boiled eggs and a tea set outside my room. - Facilities → There was a TV, mirror, Wi-Fi, hairdryer, yukata, and bath towel. In the bath, there were rinse-in shampoo and solid soap available.

“Stay at home away from home”

Amazing place to stay for a very affordable price in Gora, Hakone. Very close to key stations and cable car stations run by the kindest hosts. Definitely recommend Kinreisou to anyone looking to stay in Hakone!
