Actually we did not get to stay at this hotel due to country on LOCKDOWN / MCO on the proposed date we supposed to check in. However, actually, I choose to book a room here after received good comments by a family member who has been staying here before. He has highly recommended to stay here. I'm looking forward to experience the stay here in future.

Room was dusty at the head board area. There was also a used cotton buds on it. Sheets had strands of hair on it. Glass door to the shower room was missing. Hence, when you shower. You wet the whole bathroom. Pipe hose was leaking. Housekeeping came and wipe the dust and fixed the hose. Housekeeping staff was pleasant. Same room was cheaper by rm30 if you book with them directly.

Some of the lights are faulty, no towels and lack of toiletries provided when checked in. The toilet is dirty and moulded. The toilet flush is bad.

Fire Hazard Alert - Locked in the room for 4 hours”
By far the worst experience I have. I was stuck in the room for more than four hours as the lock was dysfunctional and I had a flight to catch. The boss did not seem to care or have the sense of urgency to get the door fixed. It would have been worse if a fire breaks out. Don't even get me started on the attitude of the staff, faulty safe deposit box and cleanliness of the hotel. Even after the incident, the lack of professionalism and reply from the boss made the entire experience a nightmare. There are safer and better options out there. Utterly awful experience.

KK Suites Hotel @ Gaya Street is a good hotel, it was sufficient for our needs. Pros: Great location. Bars and restaurants all around, a 15-minute walk to Jesselton Point if you want to go island hopping, Hyatt hotel is a 3-minute walk away. On Sundays, the Gaya Street market is just outside the door. Excellent service. The employees were kind, professional and service-oriented. They speak English well and are always smiling. They respond promptly to requests. The AC in our room worked well, we had to turn up the thermostat because we felt it was too cold. Friends on another floor had a different and less positive AC experience. Free bottled water daily, and daily room cleaning and changing of linens and towels. Hot water in the shower was good. The free breakfast at the Bella restaurant located at the nearby Jesselton Hotel was good and filling. You are offered several breakfast choices. Cons: The room was tiny. There's hardly any room to maneuver at all. Cable TV had a limited channel selection. No free toothbrush and soap. But these aren't deal breakers, just minor things that I noticed.

One of the best budget hotel that i ever stayed”
I just love this budget hotel. With budget price, it surely exceeded my expectation. I stayed for 2 nights and booked single bed room and will book again if I had the chance to visit KK or recommend to friends who will do. When I entered the room, I was quite surprise with the cleanliness and tidiness. Though the floor was not covered with carpet, but that is the only one that is missing, The bed was comfy, the shower was great, the water heater worked and flat screen TV with local Malaysian channels were sufficient for any budget travelers. Luckily I got the room with street and sunrise view, and It was awesome. The location is superb. The main spots attraction in the city center is by walking distance. My most favorite is waterfront area with fish market nearby. Do enjoy seafood culinary adventure with very friendly price in the market. The hotel is also near to padang merdeka area which minivan taxis going to Mount Kinabalu national park is stopping. I also met a guy who came from other city and did stay at this hotel for 3 months before settling down. And to quote him, this is one of the best budget hotel around. Keep it up KK suites!
