Had a great time at Lalaria Ninh Van Bay. From the warm welcome at the lounge to the experience of getting on the boat and entering the resort, and all the way to checking out, every experience made me miss Lalaria. My butler was Miss Ni, who was beautiful and full of charm. Thanks to her, I had a happy and comfortable time. I was able to enjoy the yoga and facial workshops with just a basic understanding of English. I miss the refreshing breeze I felt while doing yoga at the yoga point. Fishing with kayaks and jet skis was also fun, and if you know the tricks, you can catch some big fish. The breakfast and dinner were a bit disappointing compared to the fusion resort, but the taste was good. One evening, I had a private dinner in the villa, and it was a good choice because the wind was too strong to eat on the beach. It would have been too difficult to eat on the beach (the wind was really strong). It was even better to enjoy the champagne I brought without a corkage fee. Oh, geckos and frogs come into the room. The geckos run away on their own, but you have to tell the butler to send the frogs away. But even that was enjoyable. Thanks again to Miss Ni for making another happy time.

I stayed for two days. The beachfront two-room had a sea view and a private swimming pool that was long and deep. There was also an outdoor bathtub and two king-size beds, which made me very satisfied. It was very quiet except for the sound of birds and music, which made me feel comfortable being surrounded by nature. There were many activities to enjoy such as kayaking, snorkeling, and trekking. The food was all beautiful and carefully prepared, and the night view was also very beautiful. There were many crabs on the beach, and the butler named Lam~~ and all the staff were kind, so I was able to enjoy my rest. We stayed for 7 nights in a Hilltop Rockpool villa. Such a wonderful experience, breathtaking views, clean and comfortable accommodation, great food. Suffocatingly hot, even in the rooms! ”
Overall, I would not come back to L’ayla for some basic reasons. When you go to a luxury resort, what this resorts claims to be, you want to have maximum comfort. But on my first day here, I could not wait to leave! By the 30th hour, I was counting down the hour when I can leave this place. And if it weren’t for the sunk cost of the high price of the nightly rate, I would have indeed left earlier. Why? I was extremely uncomfortable with the suffocating heat of the bedroom. We first got to the hilltop unit, which was ungodly hot: we arrived at 2 pm and had waited for several hours and the bedroom was still hot when the air con was set at the lowest temperature of 16 degrees. Then when I complained, the duty manager, Anh, and the butler, An, moved us to the lagoon room: at first, it felt fine, we walked into the room and it was “cooler,” by 5 pm. The only good news was that we slept “just ok” at night. But during the day, from 11 am to 5 pm, when the heat is scorching hot in this part of the world, we could not do anything in the bedroom, because the air con was not cool enough for the afternoon heat. And we could not do anything else at the resort: the pool water was too warm to swim in and the living spaces in the villa was unbearably hot to hangout. Why was it so hot in the bedroom with the air con set at the lowest temperature? The room was designed by some idiots who used the lowest quality doors and windows (single pane windows), but mainly they left too many big gaps (at least 1 to 1.5 inches around!) between the doors so that hot air was flowing into the room and cold air was flowing out. I noted this to the employees, but at least three employees tried to convince me that it was because of the hot temperature outside. That was very insulting because I am not an idiot: I have traveled to 97 countries and have stayed in more than 400 luxury resorts in the past 30 years in Africa, Latin America, and all-over Southeast Asia, and have never experienced this level of discomfort at a luxury hotel. Our afternoons were completely wasted trying to stay sane from the heat. I took a cold shower every 30 minutes. Beyond this: the very sad pathetic gym did not have a fridge to store cold water so the water in there was almost at boiling temperature; there was no seating furniture in the bedrooms, and yet you couldn’t hang out in the living room because of the heat; the landscaping is a total mess, dirty and vegetation were obviously not pruned. All of this means the hotel is not really a five-star resort, but just a notch above camping. The only, and I mean only, saving grace of the hotel is that the butler, An, the duty manager, Anh, and one of our dining servers, Han, were lovely to work with. Yet, some dining service staff were inexperienced and soulless, really not up to standards with a luxury place. Overall, we were highly disappointed in our stay. The two stars is for the staff but zero star for the overall experience. Please read all the negative honest reviews before booking so that you can have low expectations. L’alya should feel ashamed and humiliated for miscalling themselves “luxury,” as they are far from it.

Honeymoon Stay”
This was different from what we have experienced before. The resort was very private and quiet, making it a perfect getaway spot for relaxed stay. The only thing we noticed was that the villa we stayed in, was dated and could benefit from quite a few upgrades and fixes. Other than that the staff, atmosphere, food, cocktails, etc. were amazing and we enjoyed every bit of our stay. Also, we were impressed by the organic garden and all the nature around us.
