During my recent stay at Lakeside Palace Hotel, I was impressed by the exceptional service and flexibility of the staff, big thanks to Nam. Upon my early arrival, the room were still fully booked so I waited for 3 hours at the lobby and I didn't mind since it was still cold outside. Since there were a few guests who checked out early, this new receptionist (Nam) kindly allowed me to check in ahead of schedule (of course with a fee) and even assisted me with my heavy luggage. On the day of my departure, Nam permitted me to leave my luggage at the hotel after check-out, allowing me to explore the city without any hindrance. Throughout my stay, Nam remained attentive and accommodating, ensuring that I had a comfortable experience.
This hotel is a mix. When we arrived we were met by a very unfriendly and unhelpful lady. Our airport transfer was about an hour late and my complaints fell on deaf ears. We were given our room 801 on the top floor. It was not very good at all, somewhat depressing and adjacent to the laundry (or some machinery) that made a racket all night. I asked for a change of rooms the following day and we were willingly given a new room. What a difference! It was very good and to be honest the type of room we should have been given in the first place. I just wonder why we had been put in such a miserable room when there were clearly others available, maybe a consequence of the unhelpful reception? She was the exception. The rest of the staff were excellent, especially Ming the owner. I would definitely return.... but chose my room carefully! All in all a good hotel.
When booking the room, I was worried because the reviews on Google Maps were not great. During check-in, the staff helped us check in early at 12:30 PM. The room was initially placed in the attic on the top floor; although the room was clean, the surroundings were messy and quite dusty. My family asked to change the room and the hotel agreed to the change. => Although the first impression wasn't too good, the hotel was still okay, so I think it's acceptable. Everything is fine within the price range, the room is clean, and the interior is a bit old but acceptable.
The hotel is very close to the lake, convenient for the elderly and young children to walk, but on weekends, cars are prohibited, so it is somewhat inconvenient to walk in from outside, and the loud music from the music programs in the walking street is also very tiring. The hotel is old, and the hot and cold water is unstable, very hot. The plus points are the enthusiastic staff, relatively spacious rooms with the old quarter, and reasonable prices.

The location of the room is very good. Even though it is not new, that's okay. The assistance from the staff is excellent, and they offered many recommendations. The welcome was nice. The room itself has a good view; you can see the river, and I like rooms with windows because I can see the outside and check if it's raining. The downside is that it is difficult to open and close the door, and it makes a loud noise when doing so.
