Charming hotel, close to Ta Phae and night market”
The Mandala house is a charming little hotel, situated in central Chiang Mai, close to Ta Phae Gate and the night bazaar. You can walk to the old town or rent a bike at a nearby rental and explore the city in 1-2 days. A laundry and some food stalls are in the neighbourhood. The Mandala has free wi-fi and lockers in the hall. The staff is very helpful and friendly. We extended our stay to 5 nights (changed from aircon to fan but could remain in the same room). The breakfast is very good, with a choice of 5 menus.

An excellent stay for budget travellers!”
Four of us, two guys and two girls, had opted to stay here for three nights while we were in Chiang Mai on holiday. We had booked a triple room with an extra cot beforehand. The hotel is 10 minutes from the airport by cab, and we paid 200 baht for the trip, which came to about 50 baht a head. We were a little apprehensive about the place cause of some of the reviews we had read, but when we got there we were pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful looking hotel. The staff at the front desk were courteous and helpful, and upgrade us from that single room for four, to two double rooms at no extra cost, without us even requesting it! The rooms are really spacious, the beds comfortable and clean, and the air con is brilliant. Bathrooms are large, with clean toilets and really nice showers. The room amenities include towels and toiletries which are changed for fresh ones daily by housekeeping. The one drawback to the hotel is the large numbers of mosquitoes around, so carrying mosquito repellent is an absolute must. However, this seems to be more a feature of Chiang Mai in general rather than the hotel in particular. We didnt try out the pool, but it seemed a tad small. Mandala House is located just five minutes away from the night bazaar and the old city, really easy to walk about from there. There are places to rent bikes from, just close to the hotel as well. The hotel seems to cater more to chinese tourists, but the staff were really pleasant and accommodative of all of our needs throughout our three days there. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to travellers going to Chiang Mai, especially on a budget trip.

Fantastic little place”
What a great find in Chiang Mai! Mandala House is tucked away down a small soi bordering three of the major streets in old town - so it's just a short walk to the Night Bazzar, Sunday Night Market, and all the stores & restaurants you could want. Cute little place with a serene outdoor patio for breakfast. Friendly staff. One of those places that feels like home. And just the type of accomodation that is perfect for Chiang Mai. The room was well-appointed with a well-lit desk area (and free wi-fi). Nice and bright with opening windows. And while the shower was the typical wall mounted box heater type, the water pressure was good and the shower area large enough you didn't feel cramped. Can't think of a single negative comment about the place - I'll be staying there again of future trips.

Nice little place with a great location”
We booked a Superior room, well, we tried to book two, but something weird happened with the booking and we only got one, by the time we got a reply from the help people, there were only Suites available, at twice the price. So we thought that we may as well splurge and enjoy the extra comfort! We were rather disappointed however, to find that the "Suite" was very nearly exactly the same room as the Superior! It may have been 1 or 2 foot wider, and had a small desk with a mirror mounted in front of it... which we wouldn't want to use anyway. There is a small safe you can use in the Suite, but other than that, it's identical to the Superior room! So value for money on the "Suite" is very low compared to the Superior. This review is for the Superior, so I class it as 5 star value. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay at the Mandala House. It is comfortable and the location is great. Everything is close enough to walk to, and the included breakfast is quite nice.

Nice hotel and good value”
I enjoyed my stay at Mandala House. The staff were excellent and very friendly. I happened to arrive a little earlier than the check in time and they didn't have my room ready. They offered me a different room, but I chose to wait until my room was ready. The room was comfortable and nicely decorated. For the money, this is a very good value. The location is very close to Loi Kroh, the nightlife area in Chiang Mai. It is less than a 5 minute walk to get to many bars and clubs. The hotel is located on a quiet soi with very little traffic and a nice place to walk around and explore.

Satisfactory accommodations; excellent staff”
As low-cost accommodations go, Mandala House is excellent. If we return to Chiang Mai, we will definitely stay here again. The disadvantage of location on a narrow soi in the midst of a densely developed area of town is actually an advantage: this location is far more quiet than a major-street location would be. And Mandala House is only a short walk from the Night Bazaar -- which everyone should see at least once.

Excellent”
Mandala House is a nice little hotel in one of the back alleys very close to the night bazar. I took the cheapest room with no view, it was clean but the bedsheets and pillowcases were too worn out and didn't smell fresh. There were mosquitos in the room, but I guess that's something unavoidable in Chiang Mai. I think more expensive rooms with balcony are great, but that also comes with the price. The staff speaks English and Chinese and are very friendly and helpful. There is a small pool with nice resting area and pleasant environment. I would come back to this hotel, but definitely considering one of the better rooms they have to offer.

Great place!helpful staff and good location!”
loved the place. booked a superior room which was ok,nothing special. but due to the construction ongoing we ended up being upgraded do a suite which was great!loved it!!!!!bed and shower was amazingly good. the staff at the lobby where very helpful helping me to book tours. i booked a cooking class and also hired a taxi driver for the whole day through the contact they gave me. have many choices of breakfast. coffee, tea, ovomaltine, juice, croissant, toast, eggs, bacon, jam, butter, ham, are part of some of the set menu for breakfast, depends on what you choose. i would easily stay here again with no second thoughts but i would book the suite instead if i had the money. but if i had to stay within the price range of the superior room, i would maybe consider other options. but i would give preference to this hotel since i did not have any kind of problem, used their aiport transfer and it was their on time, very good. they really made my stay stress free in every way. check out also very very easy. they also allowed me to check in early at 9 am when we arrived which was a great thing for us. they were already waiting for us. thank you mandala house!

Clean and friendly hotel, close to city centre”
Stayed here for 6 nights during our stay in Chiang Mai. Only a 5 minute walk to the city centre and the big bazaar. Staff were friendly, breakfast was good and housekeeping came every day. Chiang Mai has a plethora of guest houses, hostels and hotels but we opted for this hotel on agoda for the price and reviews. Booking directly with the hotel was more expensive and we would have perhaps looked around to get a better deal else where but this hotel does provide value for money. I really can't think of anything bad to say about this hotel and would recommend it.

Great location, friendly staff and comfortable”
this is an older guesthouse that has remodelled itself into a slightly more upscale guesthouse, it appears. it's not the cheapest in the price range in chiang mai, but in terms of location, it's ideal. it's less than a five minute walk to tha pae gate, but since it's located down where soi 3 and 4 inetersect, it's totally quiet. probably the best breakfast i've had in my trip as well. very well done. the rooms have a feel of a guesthouse that's done up, but far from a boutique hotel style that seems to be popular nowadays. the beds could also be a bit better. all in all, i would definitely stay here again. make sure you get a room in the main building however, the rooms in the older annex don't look to be as nice.

Lovely and clean guest house with good service”
And the room are pretty clean, the service was excellent!!!! We are very please to recommend this great guest house to everybody who want to travel to chiang mai with budget. And the location was great, just near the thapae gate which can walk to the sunday walking street. Compare to moomuag rd, the guest house here not so crowded with people if you like more peaceful place. We really have good time in chiang mai because of Mandala House. I would like to thanks the helpful staffs there too.

Great small hotel in Chiang Mai”
Mandala is a small hotel situated in the back streets just off Loi Kroh, near the city walls in Chiang Mai. The room was large with a good sized bathroom, comfortable bed, and small balcony. The staff were always friendly and helpful. Breakfast was reasonable considering the price you are paying. I would recommend this hotel to couples and solo travellers.

Enjoyable Stay”
Mandala House provided the perfect respite after full days exploring Chiang Mai. The pool was perfect to cool off as temperatures reached 40 degrees c. Triple rooms are clean, comfortable and spacious. Very good value for money. .**Do not let the following deter you from staying at Mandala, as it is constructive criticism for the staff only.** 5 out of 6 of staff we encountered were friendly and hospitable, however one gentleman at reception was exceptionally the opposite. After a 3n stay, we were late to check out by almost 10 minutes, for which we acknowledged as our responsibility and apologised for the inconvenience caused. The said “gentleman” responded clearly very agitated, raising his voice and becoming argumentative. He eventually managed to diffuse his anger. Of course we were at fault, but the manner of his behaviour for handling the situation was off-key for an establishment.

Great value boutique hotel in great location”
Visiting twice a year, this is one of a few go-to hotels for me when in Chiang Mai. Nice size clean room and bathroom with easy access to restaurants, bars, massage, Thapae Gate area. Reception and house staff generally very helpful, with exception of one in reception who didn't understand any English but worked it out. Must try breakfast; 120 baht for full cooked set menu, eggs, sausage, ham, toast and jam, fruit, fruit juice, and choice of tea or coffee. I'm surprised that this isn't advertised in any way in the hotel and subsequently is under-used by guests. I found out by chance but it was very good and better other hotels of same type in Chiang Mai. Will be back again for sure. Very good value for under 500 baht/ night in off-season.

BEST EXPERIENCE! ”
The Mandala House was very inexpensive, but the quality was great! Our room was clean, the wifi worked wonderfully, and our AC worker magically! I always felt as though we were really safe there. The staff helped us book all our excursions and the drivers would pick us up right from the Mandala House. It is located just a block or two away from a busy street. So you have peace and quiet, and can easily get very cheap and delicious food, plus excellent massages! I high recommend this place!!

Clean, comfortable, quiet location”
After 4 or 5 trips to Chiangmai I have to say that the Mandala house is the best budget option I've found! Clean and set in a quiet area about 10 minutes walk from the night bazaar or old town, it's a nice place to relax for a couple. Single backpackers looking for party atmosphere and meeting new friends should look elsewhere however. Mandala House is better geared for the needing a quiet and relaxing environment. Oh and they provide free wireless - bonus!

Nice stay”
I do like Mandala House. I have stayed here the past few trips I had in Chiang Mai during Loy Krathong. Hope they can do some renovations as some rooms are quite old but I would return to this hotel in the future.

Exceptional location”
Mandala House has a very good location: nearby Night Bazaar, Nawarat bridge , Tha Pae Gate & some other temples which has the distance just about 2km radius for you can walk easily. They also have a swimming pool on the opposite site of the house. I stayed in room on the 3rd floor and facilities are acceptable too but the hot water wasn't working. Staff are almost friendly except the male receptionist who works on a shift before the night shift (may his shift from 14:00 - 22:00 I think). On the date I checked in, he was very nice, helpful and supportive but in the night before I checked out, he wasn't. My friends has a small issue (with another hostel) and they didn't know how to handle. I asked him to see if there is any similar problem or if he know how the situation will be but his attitude when I talked was unacceptable. I know that the issue didn't relate to him & Mandala House but the way he received my information as he didn't care about what I was talking.

A trip is very perfect, but also next to oh!”
It was a perfect trip! First, choose this hotel's location is not simply good, daily breakfast are now doing, very beautiful, there are Chinese and Western, the most satisfying is that there will be Chinese in Ah Chung, Ah Chung gave a lot of selfless help including to the elephant camp we will be accompanied by the date of the trip than the other hotels are much cheaper (because I get also from China asked the price they quoted group elephant Camp, the result more expensive than we oh), but also with our eat authentic rice and mango dessert, Chiang Mai forgotten when leaving the luggage in the taxi, Ah Chung very patiently waiting for us taxi drivers, we successfully found no baggage delay while the next trip. I like Chiang Mai, also expected to come again!
