My Honest Review about this hotel after 6 nights”
I recently stayed at Pelangi Hotel Resort for 6 nights and here’s my honest review: The Positives: The location is excellent—it's near the marketplace and Cenang Beach, which is very convenient. The amenities are impressive, offering plenty of activities such as a kids club, a mini zoo, and other family-friendly options. The food was great, with two dining options. I preferred the Spice Market restaurant, which offered a wider variety of dishes compared to the Western Grill. The Downsides: I was assigned a room on the second floor, which proved to be quite inconvenient. With an 8-month-old baby and a stroller, walking up and down repeatedly was exhausting. I did request a room change, but unfortunately, the request was declined, making it difficult to manage both the Ironman event and family needs simultaneously. Despite plenty of people yet to check in, they prioritise incoming guest than existing. The resort is quite far from the parking area, requiring a buggy for transport. During peak hours, the wait for the buggy can exceed 20 minutes. One bad experience I had was waiting for 20 minutes, only to have to go back to the room and call for assistance again. At nearly RM 1,000 per night, the price feels steep, especially considering the more affordable 5-star options available in Thailand. I found it hard to justify the high price for the value received. The room itself was just average. Although it had been recently renovated, the mattress was uncomfortable. It seemed old and unsupportive, which resulted in back pain that affected my sleep before, during, and after my Ironman race. The mattress had soft spots that didn't bounce back, offering poor support and contributing to sleepless nights. Overall: While the location and amenities are good, the price point is hard to justify, especially when compared to similar options in neighboring countries. The resort would be a decent option for those participating in events like Ironman, as having a place to relax post-race is crucial, but for the price, I expected more comfort and better service. Additionally, it's unfortunate that the hotel couldn't accommodate my request for a more family-friendly room arrangement, which added stress during an already busy event.

Recharged and Happy”
20 mins into check-in, i received a call from front office checking in on my well-being - whether I was satisfied with my room and environment. The management was truly kind to offer a complimentary upgrade to ensure the best comfort for my solo travel. While I declined as I enjoyed the pool-view, they did their best to accommodate my concern for safety and convenience with a ground floor room (kudos to Janat and the front desk team). All the buggy abangs/brothers have been super friendly and kind with answering any questions - which restaurant has better selection, where could I visit in Langkawi - thank you to the team for keeping me entertained and informed! First time in Langkawi & first solo trip cannot get any better than this, Pelangi has set such a high bar for my future solo travels haha. In the meantime, will definitely be back to enjoy some wonderful time with Pelangi very soon

Love this place . They surprised us with an upgrade to family suite .. perfect opportunity as I was there with 3 young kids below 7yrs. Our unit was just in front of the pool and our family members were able to stay close ( we took 3 units ) and kids had lovely time to play together Breakfast was superb with good spread of choices . You can opt to eat in 2 of the bf sites interchangeable as long as it’s before 11am. Kids club - wonderful as kids below 10 will love the spacious , AIRCOND environment with quality toys. Outdoor have some animals to view BUT the ball wasn’t pumped up hence can’t play football. Housekeeping - ms Sharifah was a wonderful person who not only kept the room tidy, she was paying attention to the needs of the family by offering additional bottled waters to keep the kids hydrated ( first 3 days were super hot ). She was kids friendly as my eldest kept bugging her ( sorry) The person behind the line for housekeeping Was rather rude when I checked on the request status and she bluntly said we had made request earlier of the day. But she said someone is on the way ( Mr Sumaie- if I got the name correct) he came and he wasn’t giving us a pleasant look as if it was wrong to call out for water. If there are charges for additional water, kindy train your staffs to politely inform us rather than show displeasure when requests are made Mind you the time taken from request to delivery took almost 30mins Sadly the shaver provided isn’t sharp ( I didn’t shave for 3 days ) hence I struggled to have a clean face despite the 2 shavers provided .. endured pain despite applying shaving foam. Weighing scale woudl be a plus point coz it would encourage us to watch our diet ( just my opinion ) Lastly the beach which is away from lobby is way better as the sand is coarse towards the main strip. Sea water is great as you can easily walk in without fear of sudden dip. Kids friendly too. Kids stayed on the beach 9-1pm ( sun burnt) & proceed to the pelangi pool till 6pm Kindly be informed that you will require at least 20min in advance shoudl u require the help of a buggy service. Location - it’s at Cenang beach and you can walk out comfortably - turn right and enjoy the walk ( if you have kids who are active ) or else just order a grab and you are conveniently dropped off ( no need to hire car and find parking ) I would consider this place for my next holiday and do hope we could enjoy the same upgrade again. Wonderful staff, lovely place for families but could use an upgrade”
We just spent 4D3N with our two year old at Pelangi hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Their friendly and helpful staff in particular deserve special mention: everyone was courteous and went out of their way to make the experience perfect. One buggy driver even insisted on picking my hubby up directly from the parking lot because my son was so amped about the ride and couldnt wait to get on. Everyone from check in to the cleaning crew and the restaurant wait staff were like this. The room was also lovely; clean, comfy and beautiful. The facilities did feel pretty dated and definitely need a bit of a refresh... especially the pool area, with some of the kids play features not working properly. That said, its hard to complain because how many hotels offer such an elaborate kids pool area with the water slides and water guns, etc? We also thought it got a bit too dark around the pool area and a tad too warm at the lobby and Pelangi Grill restaurant. I would suggest that the hotel does something to adapt to the crazy change in climate these days... it will certainly go a long way. For families with kiddos, the Kiki Farm is certainly a nice touch - the animals were friendly and gentle, and the kids will enjoy feeding them. One concern we did have was the one of the goats seemed to have a broken leg and a duck had a broken wing... not sure what happened there. The Kiki Kids club is also nice, though perhaps more appropriate for younger kids. We didn't try the activities as my son is too young so I can't say anything about that. The food was generally okay depending on what you order though I wouldn't rave about it. Breakfast is decent. Overall a lovely experience and definitely worth the money spent. Will definitely come back the next time we land in Langkawi!
