This place is exactly what you’d want if you’re after a clean, calm, and convenient stay in Kyoto’s Shoji area. The Mitsui Garden Hotel isn’t trying to be flashy; it’s just solid. It’s got a zen vibe, it’s spotless, and it’s in a great location. They’ve got a public bathhouse on the first floor, which is super handy if you’re traveling with family and you need an extra spot for folks to get ready. It’s basically a nice bonus feature if someone’s hogging the shower in the room. We had a family room that fit three beds comfortably, and it worked out great for our group. Plus, you’re just a short walk from plenty of shops, restaurants, and cafés. Whether you need a quick bite, your morning coffee, or a spot to do a bit of remote work, you’re covered. Bottom line: it’s a clean, well-located, and convenient hotel that does exactly what it promises. No nonsense.

“Mitsui stay”
We had a great stay at Mitsui Garden Hotel, the location is great for easy access to the main tourist spots, the room was clean and a decent size, the bathroom is basic and small, it reminded me of a plane toilet but with a shower/bath too so it felt slightly out of sync with the rest of the hotel but it was clean and served it’s purpose. The breakfast was really good - the French toast and eggs were a highlight. Staff were all lovely and helpful. It’s missing a spot to get evening drinks/tea/coffee but otherwise everything was good and we’d stay again for convenience.

Hotel has a great location as it is a couple minutes walk from a train and bus station, plus there's a Family Mart in the corner and a good café nearby (Goodman Roasters). Hotel room is clean and very spacious by Japanese standards. Price is pretty good for quality of the hotel. Didn't get to try, but there's a big public path too. Would definitely stay here again.
