Impressive lobby, a must-see, vintage, nice for sure. Hotel has kept its original interior from when it was built, I believe in the 70s. Exterior not so nice, needs a paint job and windows need cleaning. Rooms with nice foreign-sized bath tubs and incredible interior dating back to when the hotel was first built. Very impressive and beautiful! Breakfast was good but not excellent (just my personal opinion). Attention to detail a bit lacking from restaurant staff, not enough coffee spoons, they’d run out every morning by 9:30 am . Just 1 coffee machine, resulting in a little wait during breakfast. Nice pool and a massive shower/sauna/locker room nearby. Never seen anything that big. Location of hotel was excellent. A5-min walk from the lovely Terminal 21 department store. It was inexpensive to stay there. Recommended! The negative: the hotel allows for a mafia taxi to park just opposite the entrance of the main parking garage. Obviously the guy will not switch on the meter and may scam you. Avoid at all cost. Hail a taxi outside on the main road, there are literally hundreds zooming past the hotel. Just ensure you have your destination written on a piece of paper in Thai by the reception because 99% of Thai taxi drivers cannot speak English. The reception might even call security to hail a taxi from the main taxi. But please, do NOT get in that parked taxi opposite the main entrance/hotel parking (the taxi driver will often walk up to hotel guests exiting the lobby to try to lure them into his taxi) on the hotel’s grounds. Mafia for sure. Avoid!
