“I stayed for three weeks.”
I made a reservation for just a week thinking the low price might mean it would be dirty or uncomfortable to stay, but after experiencing it, I felt there isn't a better accommodation at this price in Old Town, so I ended up staying for the remaining two weeks as well. I'm posting this review for those who are considering staying here. The advantages include that it is very clean by Korean male standards. The staff cleans the hallways and pool every morning, and the blankets and sheets are washed and dried in a corner by the pool. The white sheets laid out by the pool might not evoke the scene of a luxury hotel, but when you actually see them, it’s quite a modest and nice sight. The room was also cleaned neatly every day, and they provided fresh towels each time. The pool is quite nice. It's not a flashy or pretty pool, but it's cleaned diligently and is good for swimming and playing. The depth is about 1.5 meters. There's a beer fridge next to the counter, selling small beers for 45 baht and large bottled beers for 70 baht. When lying on the sunbeds, it's hard not to think about beer, so I often relied on the beer fridge. Even if you don't swim, it's a nice space to relax in, and its modesty makes it comfortable. Digital nomads might prefer to work here instead of going to cafés. It feels less like a formal pool and more like a space where one or two guests are lounging around. It might be lacking for short-term travelers looking to spend their day, but it’s a very comfortable and cozy space for long-term guests. I spent most of my time here. The neighborhood is quiet. While it’s a bit of a distance from the main street, there is a path that passes through a temple on the way to the main street. You can enjoy walking and visiting the temple every morning. In front of the hotel, there are three brunch places, including the famous Sunrise. The other two offer Western-style brunch, while one offers Thai-style rolls. Many people tend to go to Sunrise, which is delicious but a bit pricey. The Thai rolls are a fifth of the price of Sunrise and provide a lighter breakfast option. Disadvantages: Sometimes ants would crawl on the bed. I switched rooms three times, and it happened in one of them. If ants appear, ask to change rooms. Personally, I didn’t mind much. The sound of people climbing the stairs can be surprisingly loud at all hours. If you are sensitive to noise, ask for a room away from the stairs. (The lack of an elevator could also be considered a downside.) While the surroundings are quiet, there isn’t much around. However, it’s not a significant issue. The nearest convenience store is a five-minute walk away, but I was fine because of the beer fridge at the front desk. Since it’s not a luxury hotel, don’t have high expectations, but it’s a good place for the price. Some older guests were not satisfied with the hotel, but my girlfriend and I, being young and on a budget, were simply satisfied.
