Good service”

This is the first time stay in Novtel Ambassador Doksan Hotel. Before booking the hotel I never heard about the hotel. The hotel very convenient for me inculding eating, shopping and traffic.You can eat western food or Korean traditional food around the hotel, shopping in Home plus in front of Novotel hotel. The only thing inconvenience is the hotel far from my customer's office.

Upscale hotel with great service”

I stayed at the Novotel Doksan for my last night in Seoul. The main draw for me was the airport bus pick up point. The staff was so well organized and were ready and prepared for my departure exactly when they said they would be. The rooms were spacious and clean and the hotel even offered free wifi and a complimentary breakfast in the morning, All in all, my short stay was made very pleasant.

Very clean modern premises ”

The Ambassador Doksan is a smart hotel on the Western edge of Seoul. It does provide good value for money and the opportunity to cover work in Incheon as well as Seoul. However beware that you are a fair distance from the centre and bad traffic could see the journey to the centre or East side of Seoul taking over an hour.

An excellent Ambience with a cozy service”

The first impression was excellent and it did last till end of our stay as far as neatness and fresh look is concerned. what I feel was missing in terms if service was, the basic english understanding,although most of the crew were well understanding , few of them were not able to go beyond a partcular point of explanation. The drinking water (1 small Mineral Water) per day as free is too less and I feel at least this should have been adequate. Similarly in many hotels, there is a trend of offering a small tray with some nice fresh cookies or with a basket of fruits. That was missing and the servcie though was impressive looked too monotonous. despite of all the above ( please take that as area of improvement), over all stay still can be rated as very comfortable and satisfying. Out of our bussy schedule we could go for live "Orchestra " and it was really nice to hear some nice mix of western classicals and pop there. Given a choice, I would certainly like to stay at Hotel Novotel Amassador but in Kangnum only due to one reason that is , the surrounding of Kangnum , I personally found much better.All the more reason as , near Kangnum area we found some Indian food joints that's missing near Doksan area.

Hotel for business”

Novotel Ambassador Doksan Hotel in Seoul was a good value business hotel. The room was of satisfactory size and had everything on hand to continue working after a nice dinner and a few beers in the decent sized bar. Staff were helpful, friendly and spoke English well. I will stay there again!

Overnight stay in December”

I stayed in the Novotel Doksan one Sunday night and left the next day after my business meeting. The rooms were small, but clean, as was the bathroom. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. I ate a meal of Korean BBQ in the Korean restaurant downstairs in the evening and it was fine, although it seemed to be vastly understaffed at the time. Likewise for the pub which was attached to the hotel. There was a scarcity of staff there. The fitness center was good, with lots of treadmills and stationary bicycles for cardio workouts. You have to be used to Korean saunas to navigate to the sauna.

Great stay”

It was easy to get to. The airport limousine bus stops right in front of the hotel. Check in was swift and pleasant, and my room was spacious and clean. The breakfast buffet has a good variety to choose from, and they change the menu daily. The only problem was this hotel is quite far from the city center. I took taxi rides to get to places, and took a train back to the hotel one night. It was a long ride as the hotel is outside of Seoul. This would have been a perfect stay if the location is a little central. I would definitely come back if I'll be doing stuff near the hotel. Great value for the money!

Excellent hotel as always.”

Consistently good. Strong water pressure for the showers. Excellent shower, shower, shower. I cannot help it. A good shower is important for a hotel. Great breakfast with plenty of choices. Good internet speed as usual again in Seoul. Area around the hotel has not much choices in terms of restaurants but it was OK. Many convenience stores around the area. Best of all - airport limousine stops near this hotel.

Decent optional but nothing exceptional”

The Novotel Doksan is a decent choice depending on where you want to be in the city. You have two options for the subway both were within easy walking distance for me, however I did not have small children in tow. To line 1 it was only ten minutes and to line 2 which gets you to the places you probably want to go about 20 minutes. Bear in mind you can catch an inexpensive city bus outside the door to line 2. I got a free upgrade to the executive floor which was nice and while the room was nicely done it is not the biggest hotel room I have stayed in. Beware the mini-bar very very overpriced and like so many others have said there is a major supermarket across the road. I used the pool a couple of times and found it ok. The staff were fine spoke decent English and were helpful without being overly so. There was some noise from the road even on the 12th floor which I was on but I think that would only really bother the very lightest of sleepers.

Worth it if for business travellers”

Most of our meetings were in Doksan and Suwon and it was relatively easy to get to the KTX. Taxi stand is right outside the hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful with the train schedules. For after-business activities, there is a free shuttle bus service from the hotel to the market areas like Itaewon. Taxi to the same place will cost you around W40,000 so that's a big leg up. Overall a nice hotel with clean rooms. Do remember to take your toothbrush, toothpaste and shaving kit along because they're not free.

Nice hotel, but far away from main parts of Seoul”

due to delays in my flight schedule, i was a whole day late in checking into the hotel. but the staff (which spoke english fluently) resolved this problem with a smile. they also moved me into the execuite suite, which was a really nice room. it had a small kitchen, cool fog window for the bathroom and and an awesome multimedia entertainment setup to hook stuff up to the tv. the breakfast food here is by far the best breakfast food from a hotel that i've had. been to over 20 hotels in the past year.

Good service - Far”

Big room, good space, classic service for Novotel. Convenient bus to / from airport only 10,000 Won close by. Needed to be in Doksan for business, but is very far from rest / center of town.

had a great time. was there over a holiday, so some things - like the downstairs bar with entertainment - were closed while i was there. pros were a really nice room, good food, friendly staff, nice pool and gym (loved that!), homeplus and movie theater just across the street. cons - some confusion over what i had reserved vs. what i had wanted to reserve (i wanted the executive floor with breakfast and happy hour included). i explained this to the people at check it, and this issue was resolved to my satisfaction. the executive lounge was a bit different that what i am used to - full of children. i was told it the evening snacks started at 6, but when i got there at 5:55 the place was already totally full and all of the food was gone. i think this is becuase it was a holiday. i mentioned this to the staff and was promptly taken to the dinner buffet at no additional charge. took the shuttle to and from itaewon which was awesome. hotel called me twice to make sure i new where to meet the shuttle and to make sure that i had found it. i was really impressed by this as i probably would have missed the shuttle if they weren't looking out for me. loved the swimming pool and hot tub!! location does not lend itself to tourism, but the shuttle helps that. great hotel to just go and relax at.

Was there for business trip ,it is quite a nice hotel , clean very friendly staff, breakfast was nice. opposite have a supermarket can buy food or cosmetic as souvenior . next next street from the room have 1 street full of small restarant and 10mins taxi distance to reach nearest outlet shopping mall.

Good standard hotel, in a remote part of town”

The main asset of the hotel is pretty much to be the only international hotel, with international services and food, in this part of Seoul. It's convenient as long as you have business to do in the South West of Seoul. However, if your business brings you further north, such as Kangnam area, or even the North bank of the Han river, then forget about it because it's basically 2 hrs of travel by car every day to get to your destination, and back to the hotel

Great hotel features”

What I liked most about this hotel is that it had a complete gym, with all machines for every muscle and a line of treadmills, complete set of weights, a scale, height gauge, and a do-it-yourself blood pressure checker. There was also an olympic sized swimming pool, and believe it or not a mini sized golf range. The sauna was fantastic too as it had all three requisite pools, hot, warm, and cold with the correct temperature for each, along with a sauna and steambath. Couldn't ask for more for a health conscious customer.

Professional service business hotel”

The rooms are all spacious and are perfectly clean and fresh as if completely newly renovated. Bathrooms are nice and beds very comfortable with fluffy pillows and duvets. Fast internet in each room and wireless also available. If you are lucky or a regular customer you might get an upgrade even when booking through Agoda, but in any case all rooms are great. Breakfast buffet is very good and extensive. In the evenings there is a la care and also a buffet and the food is good at both. Downstairs there is additional restaurants including a good Korean barbecue place that 'works like a buffet' in that you pick up what you want to barbecue. For later on they have live performances in the bar in the lobby and even later a live band in the downstairs bar. This is something I have not come across in Korea except in the 5-star places near Itaewon such as the Hyatt etc. Overall, there is everything you need here (including a gym and a pool, but I have not tried these), and I thoroughly recommend this place for business travel.

Great hotel and helpful service from the staff! ”

We really enjoyed our stay here, the staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean and comfortable. We were offered an upgrade free of charge on arrival. The location of the hotel is great and we were offered a free shuttle service to where we wanted to go which was very convenient. The only thing that I would say is that the surrounding area of the hotel does not have much to offer apart from a supermarket across the road the restaurants are expensive and not overly welcoming to foreigners.
