“The word "the best" is not enough.”

It was better than any hotel or accommodation I stayed at in Japan. First of all, the staff were so friendly that I didn't know how to react. Both the private bath and the large public bath were wonderful, and the outdoor bath had very hot and excellent water! I experienced kaiseki for the first time, and the food was incredibly delicious. They served each dish one by one at the dinner table and explained everything, which made it even more enjoyable. Dinner included dessert, while breakfast did not, but the matcha mochi that was served as dessert was exceptionally tasty! After dinner, when I went to wash up, my bedding was already laid out for me, and in the morning, after I washed up, breakfast was ready for me. Though there are no convenience stores or supermarkets nearby, there is a small convenience store-like shop close by, and there are vending machines within the ryokan, which is convenient. This is definitely a place I want to visit again!

    “Exceptional stay”

Meals are plentiful and the variety and taste is incredible. Very authentic Japanese food. Staff is very kind and helpful. Room and inn are very clean. You can walk to the inn from the Yumoto station but it is an uphill walk. There are 4 onsens. One for men only, one for women only, and a private one that you can reserve. The fourth onsen is outdoors and mixed gender but there is a women’s only hour from 8 to 9p. It was such a nice stay that we considered staying an extra day just to enjoy this experience longer.

    “Ryokan experience ”

I really wanted to experience ryokan so I booked a stay for one night. I wanted a more traditional feel ryokan so I choose this place. +First of all, I would like to apologise for asking a Muslim friendly menu. It is obviously not, but you can ask them to remove items you can't consume. But what I can eat is excellent, the sashimi especially is amazing, the fish melts in my mouth. The soup, tempura and other side dishes were so fresh, perfect for the cold weather. +I didn't ask for her name, but the server for my room was so nice and it made the stay even better. She explained everything in great detail and checked for my need, so I am very grateful. +The onsen is nice but I found myself using the indoor one alot more despite my goal is to use the outside one. Well, it is winter afterall. But it is legitimate onsen water with sulfur smell, so it is nice. +Every guest can have 30 minutes use of the private bath and it is probably the best part of this stay. The outdoor bath is good, but it is much more relaxing in the private bath. The 30 minutes is enough for me, I get dizzy more than that. +The service all around is great. But to bring up what other travellers said, the morning can feel a bit too strict. Check out is at 10 but guests are encouraged to go by 9. They already rolled the futon by 8, usually I would still roll in bed until it's time to leave. Well, I just think it's part of the experience. Since I am asian I had experience getting up very early in my grandparents house then had to make up the bed/futon, it's that kind of feeling. Recommended for traditional ryokan experience, abit rushed at the end. Transportation is plenty and you could continue right away the next morning with the bus stand is nearby. Thank you for the stay.

    “Such a lovely stay”

Really lovely stay, the room was big and clean, the food delicious and the onsen relaxing. Beware the staff are very strict with time. E.g can only check in by 3, must check out by 10 and are strict on meal timing. This was fine but i was very sick the morning i checked out and felt like we were being hurried along.

“I want to visit again next time!!!”

I took my parents on a trip, so I thoroughly checked the location, cleanliness, and breakfast and dinner, and they were really satisfied!! The hot spring water was clean and very warm, but the large bath was a bit embarrassing, haha. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious, and the rice was really, really tasty!!! It was convenient to get off the bus at the nearby stop, and all the staff were very friendly, so thank you!! We had such a comfortable time resting!!! I know my Japanese isn't fluent, so it must have been frustrating for you, but thank you for trying to communicate with me without showing any signs of discomfort!! I will come again next time 😘🥰😍
