“The service cost-performance is good, but the bathroom is too small and there is no view.”
I stayed in a Hollywood room and even got a free upgrade. However, the view from the second floor was blocked by trees, and there was nothing to see. The service was okay, though; from 1 PM to 10 PM, there was free tea in the lounge, which wasn't great—just self-service coffee or tea bags. There were board games available as well. There was a very small ice bucket for beers (the fridge doesn’t have a freezer), and you have to get ice yourself from the front desk and then from the ice machine in the lounge. Most things were self-service, but it was good value for money. The hotel interior was luxurious and neat, and the room decorating wasn’t bad. The breakfast featured some distinctive items like jook (Korean rice porridge), grilled mackerel, lotus root salad, seaweed rice, smoked duck, rice noodles, and thinly sliced salmon, but the bread and dessert options were quite weak. However, considering the price, the breakfast was good. That said, some dishes were a bit bland for my taste. Oh, and the rice noodles are self-cooked. ^^ Self-service! The location is within a 20-30 minute walk to Seyun Bridge, and it’s nice for a stroll around the middle of the 7 Olle Trail. From Seyun Bridge, there are performances or talk concerts from July 25 to October, plus a very short fireworks show. It’s nice to check it out if you happen to be there. Regarding the room, it has a neat interior and is about 25m², so I didn’t expect much... The reason I chose this hotel over other larger ones was that it has a bathtub. However, the bathtub is very small (like those you might find in Japan), and the toilet is just 10cm in front of it. The bathtub feels like a genuine Japanese hotel. It seemed the entire space wouldn’t even be a full pyeong. Of course, the toilet had a good American Standard or Daelim brand bidet, but it was just ridiculously small... If you are hoping for a nice view from the room or dreaming of soaking in the bathtub for a sauna or relaxation, this isn't the place. For your information, I specifically chose the Hollywood room instead of a superior one, but Hollywood rooms are only on the second floor. If you want a view, you should be on the 3rd or 4th floor to see Hallasan. It seems that the distributed types are evenly spread across floors, so if you want to check the view, make sure to call ahead while making a reservation. In summary, it’s a 3-star hotel providing decent service (self-service, though) and facilities that have a luxurious interior, which is good for the price. The breakfast isn’t bad if you only consider the main items, but the room is too small. You can use the bathtub if you’re comfortable bending your legs right in front of the toilet. ^^
