A family atmosphere. It's full of young backpackers who can share travel stories together. This youth hostel is relatively clean, and you can cook your own meals. Aside from being small (a common issue with Japanese inns), there are no other problems. The main highlight is the convenient transportation; you can walk to Kiyomizu Temple, Ninenzaka, Sannenzaka, Gion, and the shopping streets of Sanjo and Shijo, as well as Gionmachi. Most places are within walking distance. There’s a 24-hour supermarket where you can buy bento, and it's relatively inexpensive for a chain store in the Kansai region. The convenience of transportation is the biggest highlight of this hostel.
