We were taken care of on the last day of our couple's trip to Iriomote Island. They kept our luggage before check-in, and we were able to use the parking space right in front. During the day, we enjoyed snorkeling at Hoshi no Suna Beach. Since there was a restaurant on site, we didn’t have to worry about finding dinner and could relax and have fun. The next morning, we couldn’t take it easy because of early morning activities, but we were able to see a beautiful sunset from our room, which healed the fatigue from our daytime adventures.
The host provided a very good room in response to request. The staff was very friendly. The room is very clean. Recommend facilities improvement.
I was nervous about staying at a "pension" after a long time, but overall it was good, mainly because of the beautiful sea. However, just for accommodation, the price (around 20,000 yen for two people without meals) feels high. The bedding and towels were clean, and I was able to sleep well without worry, but since the place is friendly with insects, those who are not fond of them should be cautious. I saw ants while going to the bathroom, and a spider about 4 centimeters came out when I opened the curtains in the morning. Since it was the rainy season, there seemed to be a massive emergence of termites from dusk until around 8 PM, making for a tense stay from about 9 PM after dinner until I woke up the next morning. I woke up early in the morning to snorkel at the star sand beach right in front of me. I was amazed to see many fish around high tide. The morning sun pouring from the sea was the best.

“The location and scenery are top-notch!!”
At first glance, the accommodation looks pretty shabby in photos, but it's quite spacious for a place in Japan, and the landscaping is pretty nice. The location is literally perfect, and the beauty of Star Sand Beach was truly moving. By the way, it looks much more beautiful during low tide, and it’s the best place to observe tropical fish up close. The water is shallow and warm, making it the ideal beach for those who can't swim with children. They say you can call nearby restaurants for pick-up and drop-off, but we used the restaurant next to our accommodation. Unfortunately, the food didn’t suit our taste at all. The service and cleanliness were quite average, but there was no bottled water in the fridge, and communication with the outside world ceased at 7 PM. The vending machine for water doesn't accept 1,000 yen bills, so you definitely need coins. We were really embarrassed about not being able to get water. We also desperately needed ice haha. Anyway, despite these issues, I would consider visiting again. I want to play at Star Sand Beach again, and the location of the accommodation is perfect. They also dropped us off on time for our boat. In conclusion, there are some things to be aware of, but I recommend it!
