Nice local hotel in good location”

For a short stay in Amsterdam we chose the Quentin England hotel for it location close to Vondel park and not far from the city centre. Location was great with good restaurants and cafes in walking distance, plus the park and trams to city (though we just walked everywhere). Friendly and helpful staff throughout our stay. Facilities were pretty much as expected - smallish room with en suite, basic (but nice) breakfast included, walk up stairs to rooms (no lift). Overalla pleasant stay and would consider returning when next in Amsterdam.

Perfect for the no frills traveller”

Location

I thought the Quentin England Hotel was just what I expected it to be, it was after all a budget room! The room was small, but it was all that I neeeded, somewhere to rest my head after a busy and exhausing day sightseeing. The location really is fabulous, right next to the Vondelpark and just up the road from both the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh too, and (if you are physically fit) only a half hour (approx) walk into the centre of Amsterdam.

Cheap and nice”

Friendly staff, cheap room, good location

Quentin England is a good place. Staff was very friendly and polite. The hotel is cheap. Room was clean but very small. However, it was quite enough to sleep and to enjoy the trip. Unfortunately there was no fridge in the room.

Most affordable hotel for a quick overnight”

location, price

A good basic hotel. It was the cheapest option we found for a quick overnight in Amsterdam. Nothing fancy, but the room was clean, and the staff was friendly. Steep stairs and the bathroom was a bit crowded (shower very near the toilet, etc.) so not for people with mobility issues. A quick walk to the lively Liedsplein area (sp?), with good bars and transportation access. City bus to the airport takes a little over a half hour, costs only about four euros, and leaves every 15 minutes (Bus #197) from Liedsplein.

Clean, Located near to public transport, Nice surrounding area

Pleasant Hotel which is located 3 mins walk to tram station. 5 mins journey by tram to amsterdam central. the hotel surrounded by few other hotels. Clean room and toilet. However, room was so small to fit in for 2 people.should consider two adults when allocate to the shared budget room. Otherwise just place for a single person for rooms at the top level. There was no lift to carry your heavy luggage to upper levels.

A bit disappointed ”

We were a bit disappointed with this hotel, we paid a lot to stay here and it wasnt good value for money.. The room was absolutely tiny! The bathroom was also tiny but fine. The shower was annoying as the water would go from scorching hot to freezing cold constantly. There is no elevator and stairs are very shallow so quite hard to carry luggage up and down. Staff were really nice and helpful though!

quentin england hotel

one of the worst hotel ever stayed in and with high price. we paid and only to get a low budget room. the room is super small, and no window!!! the location is ok, convenient but not walking distance from city center or train station. when we returned to hotel at night, the light in the room stopped working and they could not fix it or move us to another room! we ended up having to move to another quentin hotel nearby. when we finally settled, it's already after 10pm. terrible hotel not recommending to anyone.

Disappointment”

Location,location and location

While the staff was polite and helpful, the hotel could improve with some porter service and overall cleanliness. After we had checked in, we had to carry our heavy luggages up to our room ourselves . Although it was on the 1st floor, we had to lug it up the staircase, since there was no lift and the steps were narrow. I sprained my shoulder muscles lugging my suitcase up! When we brought it up to the staff, we were told that we should have asked for help instead. We are seasoned travellers , and porter service is the norm offered by the hotels. The room was really very small with hardly walking space! The housekeeping was horrid. The glasses which we had used were left unwashed during our entire stay. The toilet bowl was also not washed during the last two days of our stay Overall we will not be returning to the same hotel nor will we be recommending any friends, as it was a disappointment
