Pros 1. It takes about 10 minutes to walk to Bangla Road and about 15 minutes to walk to the beach. Even though it's in the center of Patong, it's not too noisy. 2. The swimming pool is spacious and clean. When I went, there were hardly any people, so my family and I were the only ones using it. There's also a pool bar where you can order cocktails and beer. 3. The rooms are clean and spacious. There's a terrace where you can dry your swimwear. (There's also a clothesline inside the room.) 4. The restaurant in the hotel is not too expensive and the food is delicious. I ordered soup along with other dishes, and the soup was made with care, not instant powder soup. Even the soup was so delicious..! The breakfast, which seems to be prepared by the restaurant, is also diverse and tasty. 5. The staff members are really friendly. They may not speak fluent English, but they try to help with anything. I left my iPad on the plane and asked for help in a difficult situation, and they contacted the airline and drove to the airport to find it for me. I was really touched. The only downside is that the lighting is quite dim. It's fine during the day when sunlight comes in, but it's a bit inconvenient after sunset. I didn't do much research and booked this hotel because Patong is said to be the most lively in Phuket, but Bangla Road is much more lively than I expected, with a lot of nightlife... (I won't say more) If you're bringing children, I recommend not going to Bangla Road at night. Still, it was a very satisfying hotel that left me with good memories in Thailand. I would like to visit again in the future.

Have been to R Mar a few times now. A good value for money resort that is very clean and exhibits quality right from comfortable bedding to toilet paper and tissues. Everything in the room worked as intended and the television had about 100 various channels in high definition, unlike many of the other cheap arse hotels in Patong. The resort has a separate play room dedicated for small children, a spa, a separate room with a gym, and both pools were the cleanest I have seen in Thailand. A real credit to the staff. This is a resort where you can easily relax all day without leaving, except to go to the beach which is very nearby. More of a family or couples resort than a guest friendly resort. Good to see that the resort has cracked down on the arrogant morons who leave their junk on the pool lounges and then leave the area for hours at the inconvenience to other patrons. My tip is to book well in advance during peak season, as the resort genuinely books out regularly.

Comfort, space, peace and quiet in the madness of this wonderful city. The ‘resort’ offers a hassle-free stay, with a firm bed, clean bedding and towels, a fridge (restocked daily with complimentary water and 3 small bottles of soft drinks. The balcony is wonderful, though ours did not have any view. Ask for a pool room, if possible! The breakfast buffet is perfect and will cater to every taste. The pool is clean and big enough to swim lengths or simply soak away the day and revel in the sunshine. Towels and a bar service are available around the pool. The fitness area boasts an adequate gym. We did not try the spa, but it did look classy. The location here could not be better. Close to the Bangla walking street, many restaurants, massage parlors, convenience stores etc. This hotel compliments this fantastic Thai destination! There was even a surprise slice of cake in our room fridge for my birthday!!! It’s the smallest things that mean the most and R-Mar got EVERYTHING right! Thank you!!!!

The R Mar is lovely located close to all the tourist attractions , beach and Bangla rd. best of all it is in a quiet location. The pool is beautiful and big. I enjoyed the In-house Cozy Spa (wow). The breakfast variety is lovely and we got a free mini bar which is replenished daily. The rooms are spacious and clean .The kids and I loved it for our first stay in Phuket.

I booked 5 rooms for 12 pax for a family vacation. Everything was perfect. Rooms were exceptionally seriously clean. The resort was peaceful yet just steps away from whatever you need. You can practically walk anywhere. Rooms were very spacious and more than enough space for storage and luggages. Breakfast was sufficient and reasonably good/average. There were halal (non pork) & vegetarian options. Staff were always smiling and approachable. Only issue we had was that I booked the deluxe rooms with bathtub. I wasnt aware until we checkin that the shower was also in the tub. Was rather dangerous as the tub itself had a tstaggered design. Its also taller than normal tubs. You have to step on a short stool to climb in and out to shower. My brother almost lost his balance and younger kids had a hard time with it. I had to hold on tight to the grip bars and make sure I don't fall, hit my head and die trying to climb in/out of the tub. The bathroom is darker than normal and my sink was chocked the whole stay. Booked massages for 9 pax. Heavenly. They offer 3 bottles of Fanta coke, etc for each day of stay FOC. Was told its a 3 star hotel, though personally I'd say it totally deserves a 4 star hotel rating. Will highly recommend.
