Old World Charm with Impeccable Service”
If you want to soak up the colonial ambience of Siem Reap the Raffles Grand Hotel is the place for you. The hotel is surrounded by gardens and away from the hustle and bustle of town. However the 10 - 15 minute walk along the river bank adjacent to the hotel is a pleasant way to get to Pub Street for a night out. The hotel bars and restaurants have catered to the likes of Jacqueline Kennedy, Charlie Chaplin and Somerset Maugham. The wooden floors, high ceilings, fans and period decor harken back to the colonial days in Cambodia. You can enjoy cocktails in the lower ground Elephant bar, looking out over the pool from the Conservatory or sitting beside the pool at the Apsara terrace. The pool is 35 metres in length and surrounded by flowering frangipani trees and fragrant flower beds. We even saw one of the hotel's chefs picking herbs and flowers for dinner. It is definitely a spot to recharge from the exertion of touring temples. Unfortunately ambience comes with a price and dining at the hotel can eat away at your budget. It is definitely worth booking a room rate that includes breakfast and taking advantage of the sumptuous buffet with bubbly included. For other meals you are probably better off going into town and enjoying the cheaper local and international fare available there. The Apsara dance evening is expensive and the dancers and food lacked quality. Given advance warning we would have skipped this event at the hotel and looked for a cheaper option elsewhere. We thoroughly enjoyed the hotel because we wanted to immerse ourselves in the history of Cambodia and the Raffles Grand Hotel offers another way to experience Cambodia's past. The staff were attentive to our every need. The service was flawless. The rooms were comfortable. With some schedule planning to avoid mealtimes at the hotel, it is possible to have the perfect stay for enjoying Siem Reap and the Angkor temple complex.

One of the great hotel experiences.”
The Raffles Hotels are renowned the world over for their service and comfort, quiet elegance, and the Grand Hotel d'Angkor in Siem Reap lives up to that reputation with ease. Siem Reap is a special place - more special than most because of the temple ruins and the liveliness of the town itself. I sensed from the Raffles' staff a sense of pride in their work, the hotel, and especially in their country, which has seen such distress in the past. It is a subtle thing, but a lovely quality and perhaps it is this which stays in my mind as much as anything.

Felt Like Royalty at Raffles Grand d'Angkor”
I couldn't have been more pleased with my 3-night stay at the Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor. I felt like a member of the familly from the moment I walked through front door. The staff was gracious and attentive without being the slightest bit patronizing. The Concierge services were outstanding, arranging two days of touring of the historical sites around Siem Reap, with only minimal advance notice. Our favorite hotel during a three week tour of Southeast Asia.

Amazing experiences and service”
Excellent stay at the Raffles Grand D'Angkor. The hotel and staff made the experience and time in Siem Reap and Angkor a memorable one. The hotel rooms are excellent with nice balconies and views of the pool area. The hotel restaurants are 5 star, especially the breakfasts! Great place with outstanding service.

Old World Charm”
Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor provided such a cooling respite from the insane April heat (peak of 40 degrees during our 4 day stay)- from the refreshing cold towels, to the wonderful welcome juice drink, to the comfortable lounge chairs with a sweeping view of the massive hotel pool and grounds, and the spacious rooms with their own private balconies, this grand old lady charmed us to no end. The staff greeted us warmly each time they saw us, calling us by our names (we would take mini breaks from our temple tours to shower and freshen up at the hotel and each time they would inquire how our trip went, ask if we need anything) and making us feel like we were returning home each time. The breakfast buffet was phenomenal - an amazing, top quality spread that has something for everyone; the best eggs benedict made upon request, a super pancake/waffle/eggs station, the crispiest bacon we've ever had anywhere, plenty of delicious bakery items, fresh juices, a modest but very good selection of "spa cuisine" items, cold cuts, Asian noodles and porridge, cheeses, fresh fruits and cereals... and oh, champagne! Elephant bar was a cozy spot in the basement of the hotel, with a pool table off to one side. It is far from trendy, but the friendly and accommodating bar staff made up for it. It became our meeting place before we went out for our evening meals as the cocktails were expertly prepared. Concierge service was very good, service throughout the hotel was excellent, and every need was anticipated and met even before we knew we wanted it. We were spoiled! Airport pick-up was prompt, and the cold water bottles were most welcome. The hotel shops had amazing products on sale, and if you don't like haggling in the old market, pick up your souvenir items from the gift shop (the pepper cookies were delicious and the silver, scarves and spices were all wonderfully received presents). Lotus Arts de Vivre sold jewelry and high-end handcrafted products.

Wonderful Place”
A colonial style hotel with modern conveniences and excellent service. The staff was professional, courteous, discreet and friendly. They helped organise transport, tours and guides and it all ran with military precision! We had a great time and we would recommend the hotel to anyone looking for an oasis in Siem Reap. Thank you to everyone at Raffles Grand Hotel for making our stay memorable.

Beautiful hotel lovingly restored”
We loved staying at this hotel during our 5-day stay in Siem Reap. The hotel is conveniently located with regard to the Angkor Archeological Park, next door to the museum, and a short tuk-tuk drive to the center of town. The hotel itself is beautifully restored and the service is top-notch: Within 2 days everyone, including the hotel assistants who operate the elevator and waiters, know your name. The front desk and management bent over backwards to make sure our trip was memorable. I made a last minute reservation for my daughter in the new wing because I was unable to get a second Landmark Room. Upon our arrival, management informed us that they had upgraded my daughter's room from the new wing to a Landmark Room adjacent to the room reserved previously for my sister and myself because they didn't want to split up a family. Guests are greeted at the front door by an employee holding a silver tray stacked with ice-cold washcloths (I didn't know what the term "hot" meant until spending the morning touring temples). The hotel has a nice gift shop + various independent shops in an attached shopping arcade. We would definitely stay here again.

Raffles Siem Reap”
We went from Raffles Beijing to Raffles Siem Reap. It is really so hard to beat the ambience of Raffles older style hotels. It can't be replicated. The Cambodian Staff were just amazing - so genuinely friendly and eager to please - best smiles in the world. The pool area and spa are also very lovely.

Simply Stunning ”
What can I say? Our stay at Raffles was perfect in every way, going beyond the call of duty to make our trip a memorable and delightful occasion. Raffles has charm transporting you to another time and place in history. Service was impeccable, food delicious, facilities five star. A great place to relax away from the heat of the town but close enough to explore Siem Reap and the majestic Angkor Temples.

Magnificent hotel”
Staff were extremely helpful & everything was 5 star all the way. We only had one night & arrived early morning (0830) & they organised a car (BMW) with driver from the hotel & an official tour guide ready to take us half an hour after arriving & they had our room ready even though official check in time is not until 1400. We were able to see Angkor Wat and two other temples comfortably within the one day. It was fantastic. Car with driver USD$131 & tour guide USD$50 all added to the hotel bill. There are cheaper ways to see Siem Reap but with the time limit we had, this was perfect & very affordable.

There is nothing wrong with this hotel......”
Location is quite ok. Bar area is very nice and pleasant staff serving guests . Housekeeping did a wonderful job. All that said, this is a Raffles property and this comes with certain expectations. This old Grand Dame needs something. Staff were friendly but that something extra you expect from a Raffles staff member was missing. The Driver on the other hand was what one would expect from Raffles. Attentive, polite always with a smile anticipating the needs of his guests. The new limousines are in keeping with what one would expect from a Raffles property. Sadly, the old limousines and I am not speaking vintage here should have been retired years ago. With all due respect, I will not be choosing Raffles as my hotel upon my return to Siem Reap.

Dear Gene, Warm greetings from Raffles Grand Hotel d’Angkor. Thank you very much for sharing your feedback on your last stay experience. It has been our pleasure having you stay with us. We are very glad to know that you like our central location and the bar. We also hope that despite the inconvenience, your overall holiday experience in the Kingdom of Wonder had been wonderful. Wonderful hotel with a colonial flavour”
As soon as we arrived we were made to feel very welcome . The hotel has great style and elegance. The food was excellent with lots of variety. The hotel is in a very convenient location close to te centre of Siem Reap but feel very quiet with lots of beautiful trees and shrubs. I am very happy to recommend this hotel to even the most exacting of visitors!

Excellent customer service”
We stayed at the Raffles on our trip to Siam Reap in February. It's a great property, old world charm, nice rooms. We had an issue with the air-conditioning in our room, it didn't work all night and the staff in the night were not able to fix it. However, they moved us to another room in the middle of the night. The General Manager of the hotel met us the next day and refunded us one night's charge. Excellent service and super service recovery as well. I would recommend this hotel any day.

Great colonial hotel”
From the first moment you arrive the staff are friendly and helpful - although their English language skills are sometimes limited, it is worth persevering. The rooms were wonderful but we did have mouse or rat droppings in our room on the last night and noone seemed able to explain or offer an apology. The breakfasts and the pool are stunning and after a long day at the temples, the hotel was a welcome oasis of peace and relaxation. We were the youngest guests by some margin, so if you are after wild nights out, do not choose the Raffles Grand hotel.

Great Experience”
This must be the best place to stay in Siem Reap. Hotel is superb, staff wonderful and location perfect. Our guide and car service was brilliant - cold towels, water etc.. real attention to detail (and staff in the restaurant used our name!)

The Grand Old Dame of Siem Reap”
Raffles Grand Hotel sets the bar for service. From the butlers to waiters and concierge everyone went out of their way to make sure I had a wonderful stay. The accommodations were comfortable and well maintained and the food was great. They were always bringing out a few surprise drinks to sample too. When I explained that I wanted to hire models for a photo shoot, the manager even made that happen.

Good but not the experience it was meant to be”
Good hotel but I felt lacking a bit of the old colonial charm we were looking for. Architecturally the hotel is quite basic, even though the interiors of the rooms and restaurant areas are tastefully done. The hotel passages we felt had a strong resemblance to a hospital rather than a luxury hotel. The staff was very good and when we hinted that it is not ideal when shown to a twin bed state room they quickly found us another room with a kings size bed. Our friends did even better by nabbing an upgrade to a suite. Since we were there during off season we were allowed a late checkout without extra charge. However, when enquiring about the possibility for an airport transfer we were quoted $60 for the privileged of going in a well-used raffles branded van compared to taking a local taxi for $7. For a once off experience this hotel was ok but certainly not living up to our expectations of being that authentic. If you are looking for an authentic experience I would rather suggest staying in the original Raffles hotel in Singapore.

It was a fantastic experience”
We were mesmerized by the architecture of the hotel, the details, the service and the staff. We will come back to stay in the suite next time we travel to Siem Reap
