A great Hotel with great servide”
my wife and i stayed at raffles to celebrate her birthday on our way home from a european trip. it was our 4th stay since 1992 and i never cease to be impressed by the quality of the experience. there are certainly more opulent hotels in the world but surely there are none with better service and general ambience. the checkin, the butlers introduction to the rooms features and facilities, tea and coffee being delivered without charge at a touch of a call button, the attention to detail are features. raffles does a whole lot extremely well. the hotel had not been informed of my wife s birthday but i guess they observed the date is in her passport . i was called in the room to say that it was noted that we had a celebration coming up. we came back from the pool to find the room decorated with birthday greetings and balloons, and towels folded as frogs. our butler and an assistant turned up with a birthday cake and our celebrations were well under way. the rooms are huge with fresh fruit was provided daily. the room is serviced more than once each day and still has a genuine turn down service. at the pool cold bottled water , chilled towels and fruit skewers were delivered by the pool attendant /barman without request or charge and towels were arranged for guests on the sun beds. the pianist in the writers bar is just brilliant. leslie, the historian who has been at raffles for 40 years, met us at breakfast in the tiffin room, and arranged to take us on a tour of the hotel. we had a chance to recall things about singapore and the hotel from the 70's when we first visited the hotel to have a singapore sling in the old long bar. raffles does everything you expect from a 5 star hotel and much more. it is a reasonably expensive experience and perhaps some of the services provided are not essential but they are nevertheless enjoyable. i don't think i have ever stayed any where which is better value for money. you really get what you pay for.

A Truly World Class Hotel "Best Ever"”
from the moment we arrived we were greeted by our butler and shown to our room on the first floor. the room was "breathtaking" and the size of an apartment, lavishly furnished with furniture from days gone by. the butler ordered us a no charge "singapore sling" which was delightful. the size of "raffles" hotel is massive and takes a little while to walk around and find the "long bar". the bar is very busy and hard to find a table "but wait" hotel guests have preferred seating. amongst the peanut shells on the floor we had our own table and loved every minute and soaked up the atmosphere. upon check out we were advised that we could return later in the day and freshen up (shower etc)which was great before we boarded our flight. taxis around singapore are cheap and raffles is close by to all the shopping one is capable of. cant wait to return to "raffles"

Raffles Hotel Singapore”
The experience of staying at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore was unforgettable. The ambience, quality of rooms & furnishings, and of course the service was excellent. The hotel staff were very helpful with the exception of a night staff on the front desk who seemed unwilling to resolve our question whether breakfast was included or not. However, the butler service made up for any shortcomings and was always prompt. The location of the hotel is very convenient for business as well as shopping & eating out and entertainment. Our stay was on the occassion of our wedding aniversary and we shall never forget the wonderful time we had at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore. The special rate with one night free was an opportunity we could not miss.

Raffles experience unique ”
Other hotels may provide luxury but Raffles gave my wife, my 80 year old mother and our two children of 9 and 12 memories that they will cherish for their lifetimes. The hotel and its staff offered us all something special. For the children a personal tour of the hotel by the splendid liveried hotel doorman Naranjan and stories of tigers in the billiard room and insights into some of the famous visitors he had met, pizza making in the Italian bar; and the personal attention of the butler Ayako. For the grown ups; the splendid surroundings; the wonderful suites; the attentive staff who greet you by name; a sense of calm and tranquility with gardens to wander in and relax in the heart of Singapore all capped off by music and cocktails until midnight in the longbar. Not just a stay but an experience to savour. Worth every penny. Add to that a certain pleasure in staying at a hotel that most visitors to Singapore will visit but not fully experience. Enjoying a Singapore Sling in the long bar only really scratches the surface of this great institution.

Excellent service and beautiful property!”
we had a great experience at raffles. the moment we stepped into the hotel, we were welcomed by their staffs with great hospitality. the architecture and room decor were just so beautiful! staying at raffles made us feel as if we were in 1800's. 'long bar' was another must visit place in the property!even though raffles hotel itself is a famous sighseeing spot, all the suites are located in the designated area where hotel guests need to have a key to acces. therefore, tourists won't be walking around your suites. it was very quiet, relaxing and pleasant stay. we enjoyed every single moment we spent at raffles. we would love to stay there again when we visit singapore.

The Grand Dame of the East”
i had a wonderful 4 nights stay at the raffles hotel. the location was perfect, within walking distance of everything. the service was personal and courteous, including personalised butler service, where no wish remains unnoticed. the ambience of the hotel is calm, elegant and cosy. you feel welcome, as you were in your own home. privacy is of utmost importance and unless you need anything, no one will bother you in the slightest way. staff is extremely friendly and helpful. my suite was right underneath the pool, where one could hear a bit of water filter noise coming through the ceiling, but no drama really. the only thing missing in the suites were tea and coffee maker facilities. asking why there are none, i was told that the hotel prefers to make tea and coffee as a presentation and serve in your room or verandah, instead of making it yourself, well fair enough, but how about if i get up at 3am and feel like a tea? do i need to wait for the butler to come and serve it 20mins later and what if i want more tea after...i really prefer to have free coffee and tea maker facilities in-room as in almost every hotel on the planet and have the option to have it served when needed. otherwise really nothing major to complain about. lcd tv's would be nice in the cabinets, instead of the 80's style tubes, wireless internet jumps in and out, not convenient for conference calls, wired internet in rooms would be much better. all-in-all i had a very pleasant stay and i will be back for sure. thank you raffles staff for making this christmas visit a life-long memory.

Possibly the best hotel in the world”
Although Raffles has consistently won awards for hospitality and service for decades, it is no doubt one of the world's best hotels. Ideally situated in central Singapore, with very close access to the various shopping malls & museums and other 'colonial' historic sites. Initial impressions were very favourable, from the pleasant door staff, reception staff who not only checked me in, but showed me to the suite and checked that I was totally satisfied with the rooms. Large bedroom, dining room, dressing room and bath/shower/toilet room on a first floor balcony overlooking the tropically planted courtyard gardens. Rooms were imaculate, serviced several times a day, fruit bowl replenished whenever it ran low (not charged for), slippers, dressing gowns all supplied. Breakfasts were a multiple choice included in the price, I never used any of the other restaurants so can't comment, bars were pleasant and attentative staff. But can it really justify the prices!

Outstanding in every way”
This is the best historic hotel I have stayed in! Service was outstanding: from the elaborately dressed doorman with perfect personality for the job, to the staff in the long Bar who had detailed history knowledge. The design and decor of the historic hotel and rooms is astounding and the accompanying atmosphere makes one feel like royalty. Rooms are equally impressive. 24hr Butler service useful. Well stocked bar fridge. Turn-down service great. The TV is a bit old (the big box type), but, who is there for the TV?! Toiletries and room amenities of high quality. Dining Food was reasonable (but I wouldn't consider breakfast 'excellent'). I'm not a fan of buffets and both dinner (Indian) and breakfast were buffet..but the chef and waiters came to the table regularly, bringing an assortment of delicacies so that was enjoyable. There are also many other restaurants scattered around the establishment but I did not try them. I did go to the infamous Long Bar though, and guests get to go upstairs to a more special area and also had privileged access to a brand new cocktail menu (April 2014)based on historic Raffles cocktails - I tried 4, and each was a mastermind of flavours. Hotel security great. Gardens nice given the contained city location. Had a spa treatment which was good. Pool area nice and peaceful. Price is high for rooms and food / drinks, but it is good value for money considering what you get. Once my bank balance recovers I will stay again - can't wait!

Great old-fashioned hotel”
The staff at Raffles hotel take good care of people when they arrive , check in and out was very smooth . They told us that we will get a welcome drinks ( Singapore sling of course ) , but nobody showed up with the drink and also no bottles with water in the room … that was the only minus no major problems ,,, the rest of the stay was just perfect . The room and the hotel is very old-fashioned and it is almost like staying in a museum , very interesting just walking around in the hotel . When we check out , our flight was late in the evening and they let us use the swimming pool rest of the afternoon which was a great help for us . Breakfast is fantastic !!!!

One of the best hotel in the world, period.”
I booked just a night for our wedding anniversary and spending it there at The Raffles really made it very special for us. The Raffles is a place of heritage and you feel the history everywhere you look, as if Ernest Hemingway had just checked out. Despite this, everything makes you feel warm and homely and much is to the credit of the service, which is simply exquisite. The wide choice of excellent bars, restaurants and activities around also means you could spend a whole week there without feeling a hint of boredom. The Raffles is a fantastic place and offers a unique experience that I would recommend for everyone to at least try for one night. If it wasn't for the hefty price tag, I would gladly make that place my home away from home in Singapore.

Simply the best”
We staid in the Raffles Singapore during our honeymoon trip. It's a truly iconic place. Surely the history of the building is quite impressive, but rest assured also benchmarked against 2013 standards you definitely won't be disappointed. We upgraded to a garden suite, which is spacious and luxurious. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Top end hotels in this particular price range justifiably create big expectations. In our case these were met in full, and even exceed. Warmly recommend a stay in the Raffles!

Historic hotel and service to match.”
if you are looking for classic service and historic location, raffle singapore must be on your list. this was my first stay at singpore and booked best value room so our room was facing rather busy street. if the noise is problem for you i would recommend to you stay in a room with courtyard or suite. as raffle's is one of the oldest hotel in singapore, the colonial architecture is wonderful. resident are well separated from the tourist, courtyard gardens are beautiful, i can see myself staying here for long duration. it is truly home away from home. location is more convenient than hip marina bay, great mixture of tourism and relaxation.

Queenly, exceptional service, public areas busy”
raffles is truly a queen of a hotel. our room was nice, but we had to turn the aircon off and open the doors to warm it up enough to enjoy. lovely ammenities, fruit plate, and tea/coffee service. our butler was exceedingly helpful managing our massage appointment and sunday buffet reservations. all went well. we enjoyed the public areas, but wished for less of a crowd to really enjoy them. it is very nice that one must be a guest with keys required to enter lifts and room areas. the raffles gift shop was extensive and a joy to peruse and use. the sunday brunch was stellar, we just wished it didn't end at 3 p.m. as our time there was short due to a massage conflict. all in all, we enjoyed our first raffles singapore visit and would consider another stay.

Most prestigious hotel in Singapore”
Raffles hotel is a Must-Stay hotel in Singapore. The hotel itself is a historic site. The whole atmosphere of the hotel is very comfortable and elegant. The staff are polite, helpful and well-trained. I cannot find any reason not to stay in this hotel when you come to Singapore. Having Singapore Sling in the bar and walking in the private garden was a very good experience in my travel.

Georgeous Hotel, and amazing service”
our taxi driver dropped us at the back of the hotel, we walked through the entire complex before we found reception - which is a little hard to identify if you don't go to the front of the hotel straight away. we had no trouble getting directions, and everyone was friendly and helpful. when we got to our room we felt transported in time to a more gracious era. the room was beautiful - no other way to describe it! the facilities were well maintained and very clean, staff explained clearly how to use everything. we had a singapore sling in the long bar - which was a great experience, the staff were friendly and chatty. we only had one night there - but would love a week to soak up the atmosphere!! we loved it and would highly recommend the whole raffles experience to anyone.

one of the kind”
Reputation of Raffles is well known as one of the best hotels in the world and need not to be described. As one the the landmarks in Singapore it is a "must" to visit and drink Singapore Sling. And - even better - if you can stay there, you will have remarkable memories. Large ( 58m) rooms with all facilities you might wish. My noly complain was that breakfast ( very varied and tasty) was in buffet form only and for persons like me, not eating much, was asked to pay for extremely large buffer ( no sinle item orders allowed). Otherwise perfect place to stay

Fantastic and Fabulous”
We stayed one night as a luxury gift to ourselves. Raffles truly lived up to expectation and beyond. From the moment of arrival we were greeted by the consierge who ushered us into the hotel. We were spoken to with the greatest of respect/care and politeness and treated like royalty! It is a beautiful hotel - the room standard was superb and we were treated to the services of a butler and an evening butler. The breakfast again was out of this world and we were waited on at every possible turn. The choice was excellent. We took lunch in the Tiffin Room - North Indian Buffet - which really is a 'must try'. Again we were treated with the greatest of care. Although we checked out at midday - we were flying that night and Raffles treated us as guests to the moment we left at 7.00 pm. We were allowed the use of various facilities and were given shower facilities before we travelled. This was a tremendous experience and one I would like to repeat often!

Exquisite !”
I enjoyed a three night stay at Raffles in the company of one my sons.. Living on different continents as we do I was looking for somewhere special to rendezvous and relax for a few days. Raffles certainly lived up to all of our expectations. However, aside from the fantastic ambience, great central location and wonderful in house dining options it is the hospitality of the staff that requires extra special commendation. From the general manger to a grounds person they are amongst the most most respectful and polite a staff that I have come across anywhere. All I can say is that from a personal point of view I would not consider staying anywhere else in Singapore.

Totally Perfect”
I was fortunate that I was staying five nights at this glorious hotel. Everything about it was first class and, having now had this experience, if I ever visit Singapore again I will not hesitate to stay at Raffles. The breakfast was second to none, the Sunday Brunch spectacular, dinner in the Writers Room was a gastronomic experience and of course you couldn't consider leaving before you have sampled the afternoon tea. Every single member of staff went out of their way to make the stay special, from the concierge and receptionists, to staff in all off the bars, to butlers, to cleaners. All first class. Go on......book it, you will love it.

Best hotel in Singapore”
Never been better. I fall in love with the hotel at 1st minute after I arrived Raffles. The building itself is charming. The first thing I was treated was a cup of Singapore Sling. Food was great. Room was clean and comfortable. In short, I love everything there. Definitely, I'll choose Raffles again if I visit Singapore.
