Aquitaine hotels & accommodations

Pros: excellent location, beautiful view from our hotel window, good sound insulation towards the street, good check-in/check-out process, good bed Cons: uncomfortable pillows, tight space, and tiny shower with fluctuating water temperatures Conclusion: this is a great hotel if you'll be spending most of your day out exploring Bordeaux. The hotel location is really e...

Quiet area about 10 minutes rom the town of St Emilion.. Gorgeous property set amongst the vineyards, and next to one you can have free wine tasting. The spa at the château has a hammam. sauna, & pool although it closes promptly at 7 pm. Don't, I repeat don't miss.the outstanding dinner there! The meal, wine, ambiance, & attentive service combined to make it the b...

Fabulous hotel for our short overnight stay in Bordeaux. We booked this hotel as it was very close to the centre of the city and had access to a nearby carpark. The hotel is an oasis of calm with a great outside courtyard in which to sit with a drink and relax. Our room was luxurious with a spa, huge bathroom (with complimentary Hermes toiletries) and tea/coffee mak...

We stayed at this hotel only one days. The hotel's location is good because it can reach by tram (400 meters from the tram station), about 10 minutes from the city center. The reception is friendly and helpful. The room's condition was very clean and very good. The room's facilities was very good because there was a small but complete kitchen inside. We didn't know the...

good value and good location we stayed three times on this visit. First time we had no internet in the room, but next two nights there was no problem. Second night toilet would not flush and we got another room with no fuss. Altogether we did not mind this hotel and would recommend it based on excellent value for money, lots of places to eat near by and short drive to...

this was a great hotel on a quiet residential street on the outskirts of the town centre of Bordeaux, but easy walking distance to all the sights and restaurants. We only had one night there and it was very comfortable, with friendly staff, a nice terrace on which to have drinks served, and luxurious room amenities. We stayed in the secret room with its own courtyard t...

Great location, very polite staff (Dimitri is very helpful and funny). The room was fantastic. The hotel is less than 10 minutes walk from the main shopping street (rue Ste. Catherine) and from the river bank. This is a very discreet boutique style hotel, so it is a little difficult to find it in the street. There is only a small sign to indicate you have arrived. Don...

The room was very close to the downtown core. it was clean and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. However, there were some issues. There are only two outlets in the entire room and those were across the room under the desk. So I had to get under the desk to plug anything in. There is no outlet near the bed. As I have sleep apnea, I had to snake the cord ...

We were en route from Granada to Roscoff and needed a hotel near the motorway to save time on our journey. The hotel was easy to find; the staff quick; even though it is located by the ring round, the hotel is in what appears to be a nice neighbourhood; the car park is locked at night; and there is a sushi takeaway a few minutes walk from the hotel.

hello, i highly recommend this hotel: - great location (main shops right on doorstep) - modern and clean rooms - excellent service - good hotel amenities (steam room, small gym) that is rare for bordeaux hotels - good transport (regular bus from airport stops nearby and bus to train station next to hotel) - value for money i would like to make a special not...

In the heart of the historical center, on a quiet pedestrian side street. Just because a street is pedestrian, doesn't guarantee you a quiet sleep...this is a college town with lots of students who stay out late and congregate at corners, bars, plazas, pedestrian streets, etc. Note: the closest Uber can drop you is 2 short blocks away but a bit confusing in which dire...

It is situated between Bordeaux (20 minutes by car) and the west bank of the river, where the best wine regions are located, like Margot and Pauillac, which is perfect! The rooms are very spacious and clean and the building is a well preserved Chateaux, just in front of the river. Breakfast is basic with only a few options but is more than ok and everything was tasty. ...

Excellent standards, worth the 3.20 euros return to access on buses, as a long walk to and from the airport. The only downside is the lack of suitable vegetarian options in campanile sister hotel. Did not even meet a simple request for some form of protein with a buffet, even after I made the booking and it was agreed a boiled egg would be provided. Told only for th...

We had a great stay here. You will need a car as the surrounding areas are not close to much public transport. Service was great. Region was superb and i recommend visiting the partner restaurant in the nearby village of bages. Hotel had great facilities and they spoke perfect english. I recommend this hotel.

Great location! Was expecting a larger cabin as I have stayed there before, but cabin was small and cramped as we were 3 friends. No amenities at all, no toilet paper, no sheets, no towels - all these are at an extra cost as is wifi. Gates locked at night, so you have to park out in a car park on the street if you come in late. And you have to do an inventory when you...

Good clean hotel. Room was good. It lacks a few facilities such as a machine for obtaining water/drinks & snacks. No proper lounge although you can sit in the dining room. Personally would not rate this as a 3star - only 1.5 to 2. No bar or restaurant. However adequate for an overnight stay when travelling.

the hotel is located in the town centre. a lot of restaurants and shops in the hotel area. it only takes me 10 minutes walk to the grand theatre and the office de tourisme. the room decorated quite lovely and classic. it is also spacious enough with separate toilet and shower. free wifi service is available.

The welcoming message which includes access codes for the gate, the coffre and the room key should also be sent in English. They send the message only in French and I do not speak French at all. I could get in with the help of another hotel guest. If it was a little bit later I might not have found someone to help me

Le Grand Hotel is a quite nice hotel. Standard of what you can expect from the Best Western chain. A bit far from the train station. You still can walk there, though. Easy to find. On the main street. There is a supermarket nearby. Room and bathroom are quite big. Old style decoration, but clean. TV and fridge in room. Computer with internet near reception. Staffs are ...

I booked this hotel specifically as it offered parking. On arrival was told by a very rude hotel receptionist that the car park was full, and to park in the street. During our stay, I never saw one car enter or leave the car park. If you can't offer something don't advertise it, if I'd have known about the car park situation I would have booked elsewhere.i did manage t...
Cheap places to stay in Aquitaine

We booked here for our first night before we started the Camino and it was the perfect place to start from. It was a little bit out of town but it was nice to have that little bit of a head start and sleep in. The family that runs it are absolutely amazing and lovely. We had the best stay! I would love to come back and just stay for a few days because it was so friendl...

Its a hostel, nothing fancy but perfectly clean and extreemly welcoming and comfortable. Perfect for solo-travelers who like meeting people - especially around the dinner table. I was there in the middle of the winter but I imagine the terace would be lovely in spring / summer / autumn.

The hotel is basic, as expected, but comfortable enough. The big problem is that their internet is very bad, I could not get a connection. The hotel advertises a free wifi but it does not work so next time I shall have to look for another hotel.

Unhelpful, not trustworthy, customer service bad , hotel location not nice, taken my money without meeting special request when complaint been told no refund can be issued. The way i have been dealt with i will get better service in McDonalds. Avoid if you dont want disappointment.

The receptionist said could get a pillow later, as open 24hours when we went back before 10 pm . It was closed a young man who worked there wad very helpful after 10mins and two phone call got me another rubbish pillow. He was very good also the door did not close probably looked liked been crowbarred open at the bottom.

This was our third stay here, and the cheapest. We have previously booked directly with Allsuites. As before, we used it in preparation for an early morning flight next day. The apartment is really spacious and the microwave, fridge and 2 ring burner are ideal. We are still amazed that there are no restaurants open on a Friday night in this area, if you want a really ...

Very good hotel & really pleasant staff. For a budget range hotel this well exceeded my expectations as I had stayed the previous night in Premiere Classe at DREUX & the two hotels are definitely chalk & cheese - I would AVOID the one at DREUX but I will repeat book in September at Pau for my return journey.

For the price you pay you can not go wrong ; hot shower /bath , good mattress , free wifi , kettle with coffee and tv . what else can you ask for? you can also check out at midday . the bathroom is a bit tired but the mainroom is minimalist and modern so yes I definitely recommend this hotel.

The property was actually really good. However We specifically requested a late arrival between 1130 pm and midnight because we were driving. Upon arrival there was nobody at the front desk and you needed a code to enter. (Which we were not aware of). Our keys with our name were visibly sitting on the reception area but we had no way to access it. I’m almost eight mont...

It was very tired with peeling paint and a bit dirty Our room was very very tiny with no room to pass each other moving around. Without doubt the best thing was the lovely attitude of the lady receptionist. We arrived in the evening on a very wet night having tavelled for 10 hours and with our dog only to find the wrong date was booked and we had no reservation !! She ...

The only problem experienced was that the expected hotel car park did not exist. There was a public car park opposite the hotel, but it was full when we arrived. We had to wait for more than an hour for a space to appear to allow us to park for the night. Also, it was a "pay and display" car park, which would have caused problems if we had not wanted to set off early -...

Easy to reach by bus #1 from the train station. Inviting sitting areas inside and out. Food was not amazing but reasonable. Staff were actually fun. My only suggestion would be to add the information about the bus from the Bordeaux train station and how close to the hotel it stops on the website. I'll use this hotel on my next visit.

We booked two rooms and stayed here for 2 nights during our vacation in Dordogne. It's an ideal base to explore Perigueux and surrounding sites. I paticularly liked their updated bathrooms. It was more spacious than I expected with huge marble looking tiles. The staff at the reception and breakfast area were really kind and friendly. The updated look of the lobby was...

I've stayed in several hotels in Biarritz, and this is by far myfavorite. And it is unbeatbale value for money. We were there off-season, so be warned things may be different in the peak of summer... I had a room facing the ocean, silent except for the sound of the waves. The new owners have redone the decoration, not my taste, but it is new. The carpet in the hal...

I cannot complain about anything of the hotel. We were welcomed by very friendly staff and loved the room. But at the check-out, we were charged 15euro/night for parking at the backyard in the hotel 's premises. It was unexpected, as there was absolutely no infomation given to us about the parking fee and not even a parking ticket at the parking. Otherwise, it was a ...

I wish I could have stayed longer. The hotel is right on the banks of the river with a swimming pool over looking it. I walked around both Grand Bayonne and Petit Bayonne, both quarters still backed by medieval walls. The houses lining the river are examples of Basque architecture, with half-timbering and shutters in the national colours of red and green. There is a su...

It goes without saying that this is a beautiful chateau, and the standing is good. However, I felt that it was not personal enough. The rooms were very much like any hotel room. Which is ashame for such a nice hotel. Also, breakfast was good but nothing fancy (definitely not worth the price).

Great location. Just a few minutes away from N1 airport bus stop. Few minutes walk from city centre. Very quite location. Spacious room. Big bathroom & very comfy bed. Nicely furnished & decorated. Very clean. Excellent value for money. We had a very comfortable stay and were very satisfied with the hotel room & location. We would have liked it even more if breakfast...

The hotel is ideally situated for a visit to the attractive city of Pau. We parked the car in the hotel car park, and did not use it until we departed. Our room was spacious and well equipped, and members of staff were both courteous and helpful..

Rooms are a bit tired and small even by Frence standards. But this hotel offers tea and coffee facilities in the room as well as a continental breakfast which is unusual in France. The location of the hotel is the best part. Carparking is quite close in the nearby shopping centre.

To mention one point of the issues on top: the Residhome Arcachon Plazza Hotel offered a breakfast buffet (worthy of the name) This was a big improvement compared to our previous hotel near Perigueux, where the € 14.00 breakfast buffet just offered some different bread and baked goods, some cold meet and coffee and tea.

The Mecure in Libourne is in a good location - easily accessible / walking distance to the main square. The staff were very helpful when it came to booking taxis. The room was relatively small, and the curtains didn't really cover the window adequately so it was incredibly bright by 5am. The bathrooms are slightly dated, separate WC to the shower. It is a standard hot...

The location is what is the most special and important for this kind of town and type of trip, especially with the direct access to the main beach, Not even a road to cross! excellent attentive and can do attitude staff. My flight was waylaid for 10 hours and I arrived after 2230. although I assisted by notifying the staff of my delayed arrival, the kitchen stayed open to allow me a sampling of the degustation menu. the rooms were fantastic and comfortable. best climate controlled rooms in France I've experienced. the staff had excell...

Lovely quaint chateau. Lovely owners and staff! Beautifully refurbished and so clean and near. Colour coordinated too! MUST NOT MISS. The only downside was that the wine tasting was very limited. We only had 2 red wine they offered and although they had white and rose, maybe it was winter...they didn't offer that for wine tasting as I believe there were few people....
