Chungcheongnam hotels & places to stay

My wife and I loved our room at the Hotel Ellee Cheonan. Allow me to get the small negatives out of the way: It's a nice hotel (some may call it a love motel) situated among other hotels (everyone would call them love motels). Provocatively posed and dressed women abound on posters, so it's not good for families with children. Care should also be taken if using the jacuzzi's shower-hose (the jacuzzi nook is right in front of the computer area, at least in the room we stayed in). But Hotel Ellee Cheonan is much nicer. The attendant spoke fluent English and, because the rooms have different designs and the hotel must have had some vacancies when we arrived, she showed us the booklet of rooms and allowed us to choose which one we wanted. The room was spacious, clean, and, other than the aforementioned issue, I loved the bathroom (if I can even call it that: there was a shower, there was a large jacuzzi, and there was a toilet, each with their own little spaces). Many different lighting patterns to suit your tastes. Even though it's near some love motels, it's pretty close to the train station and other great city features like restaurants.

Overall is very good. Foreigner who cannot speak Korean must be aware that hotel staff unable to communicate in English. They do not even understand what the meaning of "Agoda" is at first and you may be dissappointed at first try. Please bring somebody who can speak Korean and understand English or you may end up waiting for someone (by chance) to sort out your registration procedure. Opposite of the road is also the same company hotel name sky hotel. So do not confuse with this motel as the design is same but different management. Room has jacuzzi that can accomodate 3 persons at one time. 48" lcd tv and 21" lcd computer. Sofa is available for premium room. Room is well decorated and clean. There are also free orange juice drink in fridge available for any type of room. Best thing, this hotel is the cheap and lots of ammenities. Seosan town is located near to famous Mallipo beach and Taean National Park.

We stayed here for 2 nights during Chuseok holiday. The Pension seemed fully booked and was alive with activity. The room was nicely set up and full of color and quiet despite the holiday crowd. The bed was firm and comfortable and the bathroom was nice, updated with great shower water pressure. And it had a fancy heated Korean toilet seat for cleaning "down under." The view over the water was amazing and our room faced the sun rise. To end out stay, we enjoyed a seafood BBQ offered by the pension. Our hosts started cooking and we finished BBQ'ing oysters, clams and shrimps. We enjoyed our stay!

My wife and I wanted to check out the Cheonan World Dance Festival 2013 and needed a place to stay for one night. We found the E Cheonan Hotel and stayed in a Deluxe Double Room. Overall I would say it compares favorably to similarly priced Korean tourist hotels. It's better than a love motel, but there are probably better options if you want to pay more. Both of us were satisfied with the comfort level, price, room size, and the staff. The bed was comfortable enough and they had a decent TV with plenty of channels. They also had two PCs in the room as well as free wifi which was a surprise and a big plus. We had to ask a couple questions at the front desk and they easily answered them all in English. The breakfast was a pretty typical for this kind of hotel, a simple mix of Western food and Korean food. It was just a few minutes by taxi from the train station, but out of the three taxi rides we took to the hotel, none of the drivers had ever heard of E Cheonan Hotel. They were all able to type the address in to their navigation system though so it wasn't a problem. We didn't see much of Cheonan itself except for the Dance Festival and the downtown area near the department store, but it seemed like a nice city. I'm not sure that we will ever go back to Choenan, but if we did we wouldn't hesitate to stay at this hotel again.

It is a very nice condo apartment that is near a beautiful beach, but it is not set up for foreigners. Nobody speak English at the hotel. It is a very nice place for Koreans who have car since the condo is about a mile from the nearest bus stop. It has a kitchenette which is very useful since there is no restaurant at the place. You can buy food at a small supermarket at the bus stop. I could read and speak a little bit of Korean so I did get by, but if you speak English only, do not go there.

The hotel is directly next to the train station. It is conveniently located to the downtown area. The room was large, comfortable and clean. The front desk person was very kind and helpful. We did not eat the breakfast, but we went to check it out. It was adequately stocked (cereal, toast, eggs, sausages, coffee, etc). Nothing amazing, but also did not look "bad". We would definitely stay here again.

Location: Gongju is a rather small city so it's easily accessible to anywhere. The hotel is located across the river from Gongsanseong Fortress and nearby King Muryeong tomb, about 5 minutes by car. The hotel was in a cluster of motels so I was not keen on the neighborhood cos it's quite dark. It was the most good looking building among the other neon lit motels, no cheesy exterior like other motels (if you have seen motels in Korea you will know what I mean). Spacious parking. You can see the hotel from across the river if you climb to the fortress. Get out at night and walk across the river to take beautiful view of the fortress lit up at night. Service: well lit and proper lobby, prompt check in. Less than 5 minutes. We were with a toddler so we requested a quieter room with no occupant downstairs if possible, to avoid our son making noise jumping around. This request was made and they were being very nice about it. Room: like other reviews, the room was spacious although I think the photos look like they were bigger, still it was bigger than most business hotels so it was great. Clean, bright halls like big hotels and looked new. Love the big cozy chair and a desktop computer is a plus. All amenities were there: hair dryer, water pot, razor, toothpaste, toothbrushes. I found the towels to be fewer than most hotels: three small towels and only one big one. If you need more, call the front office to ask for extra. The toilet is separated from the bathroom and is clean. Also take note: there was no door on the bathroom! They were one big bathtub and one shower but no door. So if you were traveling with business partner, make sure to get a single room instead. If there was a door to the bathroom it would be less cold after shower. One small complaint is that the was no towel hanger. We had to dry our towel on the door handle. Extra note: the stay was great, if we were to go to Gongju again we will definitely stay here again. Definitely worth our money.

I was traveled with my Mom during the Korean Holidays. The facilities seem quite old but it was clean and just enough to take a rest. The bedding was pretty clean but the only pillow was not comfortable. Hot spring was the reason to select the place. It was pretty awesome for both of us, thirties daughter and sixties mom. The water was just good enough although we prefer sulfur spring. We had the spa every day. Considering the price, I am satisfied and I will definitely visit the hotel again.

Hotel was nice. Room, restaurant were also nice. Price is not bad. Because there is not good hotels in Cheon An city. But...... Unfortunately, I spilt water into electric outlet on the bar. So I faced blackout entirely. All lights were off. Even lockrelease was also impossible. What's worse, the duty manager could not solve the situation. I shifted myself to another room only for sleeping leaving my luggage. Not good system!

This is by far the best hotel to stay at if heading to the mud festival in Boryeong. It within seconds of all the activities and the beach. I did say seconds. It offers a Sushi restaurant and a Brunch restaurant that serves a mix of western (American breakfast) and Asian dishes for a reasonable price. If that isnt to your like there are numerous restaurant's out the second entrance of the hotel that offer all you can eat menus. The room was spacious and clean along with ocean views from all the rooms. We could easy see and hear all the concerts that were happening do the two week festival. Excellent hotel.

Hotel is one of the better ones compared to surrounding hotels and their breakfast is decent. The plus point is the hotel is located near LotteMart (probably 5 mins walk) where you can do your groceries and have your meals in a less crowd. There are many restaurants and convenience stores nearby the hotel too. Room is extremely spacious and modern. Overall, would recommend it.

Outstanding hotel for price and location! The room looks just like the pictures. Just keep in my that there are no microwaves in the room (unless you book a family suite, which has a stove). The staff was friendly but language barrier was vast. If I didn’t pay attention I would have been charged extra (like additional $60) from the Agoda website price. Because the hotel is so close to the beach, you can actually hear the waves from the ocean and the people outside also. So if there are people playing instruments or kids playing, you will hear them (I was on the 6th floor). Other than that, the hotel was amazing.

This hotel is located just a few mins walk from the Onyang Oncheon train/subway station. The room is good - nice big TV with cable, good sized bathroom, wifi etc. The only issue I had with this hotel was that a lot of the guests were yelling in the middle of the night one night, and the hotel did not seem to intervene. However of the two nights, only one was disturbed in this way. The owners are very nice.

I’m from the US and I’ve stayed at plenty of hotels. I was also traveling South Korea from East to West coast all along the outer perimeter of the country and stayed at plenty hotels on this trip, including Sokcho Lotte Resort, and let me tell you Wooyeon Flora is just as nice and fancy. Wooyeon Flora hotel was nice, clean, comfortable and right on the beach. The staff was amicable and helpful with whatever questions I had or anything I needed. I do have to say for those that expect closets: my room had a queen size bed and single since I was traveling with my mom, it was a big room. The one thing it did not have a closet. To me it doesn’t matter because I never use closets but for those people that expect one maybe another room might have one but not mine.
