Faro District hotels & accommodations

Never visited in July before despite visiting anything up to 4 times a year but wont be doing so again. Too noisy kids end even more noisy parents (mainly English). Bar prices are still a rip-off: Why pay 3.50e for 330ml of beer in a plastic cup when you can buy Sagres/ Super Bock, San Muguel etc in the nearly mnini-market for as little as 1.20e. Fanta orange 3.00e.

Hotel staff were always polite & professional, and also helped with booking excursions everywhere (which was also cheaper & easier than booking in town too). Hotel room was huge, but the bathroom while adequate wasn't great (very basic shower in a very basic bath). Location was fantastic, right on the beach overlooking the sea although not all rooms can see this. In to...

We enjoyed our stay, customer service was always very pleasant, staff appeared genuinely pleased to help. Room ready on arrival, prior to official check in. Check-in quick and efficient. Breakfast was the same, although hotel busy. Complimentary beds and sunshade on beach made a difference, we spent time every day by pool and on beach. We did upgrade our room and all ...

Breakfast was one of the best in our life. Good variation of hot and cold breakfast, fruit, gluten free pastries soy and almond milk were also available. We tried their buffet dinner once, that wasn't their best. Hotel looks nice and stylish, the view is just beautiful.

Hotel itself was very nice and worth exploring as it is quite large offering much to do. Great location although quite an expensive trek by taxi from faro airport. The women at reception are quite rude and unhelpful which was disappointing as they really need to be more approachable and friendly as I did notice this was an attitude they adopted with a number of other g...

We travelled to Praia Verde for the first time with our Labrador cross and we were greeted by two of the loveliest girls we have ever met at a reception desk. Susanna and Barbara were so wonderful with him and he loved the walks down to the beach through the hotel gardens. We will definitely go back because they just made the whole experience so pleasant for us and our...

Please make the extra cardio room available free to all guests. I think it was a kick in the teeth that you advertised this fitness room on the internet (an this was one of the reasons why I booked this hotel) but when we got to the hotel we found out that we had to pay to use the room. very disappointed.

My husband and I stayed at Epic Sana summer of 2017. We got an upgrade upon arrival and welcome drinks at any of the bars. We also felt very pampered by the staff as well as well fed during breakfast and dinner. It was the best experience in Algarve! We just booked our stay for summer of 2018!

Conrad Algarve is an impressive, beautiful resort with excellent onsite facilities and attentive, friendly service. Our family (parents and a 2.5 y.o.) went during the low season, which in a way was very nice as it was quiet and relaxing, but perhaps a bit lacking by way of ambience or being able to take advantage of the full range of facilities (outdoor pools, restaur...

I stayed here for 3 nights with my girlfriend in the first week of September month. The hotel covers a large area right by the sea, which is slightly off from the centre of Lagos but only a 15-20 min walk away. This provides guests a lot of space where the hotel offers great facilities (the outdoor swimming pool is huge!) including free parking, and the area of the bea...

Went in late Oct 2019 for a fortnight, on-site pool bar closed at that time, but pubs / cafes are a few minutes walk away. Nicely updated room, complete revamp, separate bedroom unit with two single beds, good storage, sofa bed in dining/Went in late Oct 2019 for a fortnight area , comfy to sit on , didn't try it for sleeping but it looked like good quality, fold out ...

We were positively surprised as we got totally new room with big balcony, and also nice new swimming pool/gym area, instead of the oldish pictures that we saw when booking. I guess we were lucky as this Village has multiple different villas/rooms, therefore it was good value for money. Would come again if I would know that I would get same room.

Nice relaxed atmosphere Resort in good location to walk everywhere, or 5 mins in an Uber. Nice swimming pools, indoor and outdoor. Gym was really well kitted out with new machines. Spa was excellent and very accomodating Suites were in process of being done up, but very good size and plenty of space. Bathrooms were huge, nicely finished with a great shower. While th...

The hotel is very nice, the pool area is nice as well but always very busy. The price of the water at the hotel is extremely overpriced so best to get it outside. Otherwise my partner had his birthday and the hotel surprised us with some sparkling wine and piece of cake which was extremely nice. The breakfast was very good. We really enjoyed our stay and would for sur...

No separate smoking area, couldn’t enjoy fully our stay because of that. Place is considered as a family hotel, at least 60% of guests are kids different ages. Disrespectful and selfish smokers who don’t even bother to think about other people around.

Stayed here for a few nights in October 2011. Location on the beach is very good, central & walking distance to everything but also in a quiet location. Rooms were nice & view was good although were told we couldnt get a double bed only they could make two singles as one. Breakfast was a little basic but still ok. Hotel lacked a decent pool for the hotel class but bei...

Our general experience of accommodation in Portugal was high service, fantastic customer focus of hotel staff and good, cozy, very clean and nice quality of all accommodation we used. We arrived to Pousada de Sagres on Christmas Eve and even received some Christmas treats from the hotel. There were welcome and Xmas cards and nice notes about the history of the place in...

Absolutely beautiful townhome in woodland on grounds of the resort. Extremely tranquil and very well equipped with everything you could want - it was like a home away from home. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Beautiful resort. The only thing which I have not come across before is that there was a charge to use the gym, indoor swimming pool and sauna. ...

Very family friendly hotel with helpful staff. Head for a senior suite on two levels if you can extend to this as it has 2 en suite bedrooms and a big lounge. Room also has great view over Marina and the beach. The hotel is beginning to show its age and the breakfast offering is very average and only gets worse the longer you stay. The food and drink outlets around th...

Beautiful facilities and great location. Front desk personnel very friendly and professional but restaurant limited staff not so. Also not able to control AC individually, temperature is set and controlled by the hotel so you are at their mercy and it can get very hot.

We loved everything about this hotel - except it's location. If you have a car you won't have an issue, but we didn't, so it was a 20+ min walk to the city centre. Otherwise, the room was great, the service was fantastic (they offered to pack us lunch for when we had to check out very early and miss breakfast), breakfast was a very large spread, and while we didn't get...
Cheap places to stay in Faro District

Inside old city, a distance from train & bus station. Owner not in premises and staff is working in the hostel next door to the reception. Have to buzz and wait for him as he is working in the hostel most of the time, even after reception opens after 10am. Takes a while to adapt to the room because there is no bedside light and power socket beside the bed.

If you're looking for friendly, good vibe hostel, this is a must STAY hostel. The best hostel experience I ever had. Room are equipped with wifi, radio in the room(can you imagine that, Aircon for summer and super cozy bed. The balcony and terrace is definitely a bonus for fellow Hostelbookers bonding and drinking. Every room, toilet and kitchen are clean daily. The lo...

Booked one, and ended up booking a second night. It was a great hostel, with great people running it. My roommate was an Aussie that had been there a few weeks. I rented a scooter around the corner and went on a day trip to the end of the old world. There are beaches everywhere, and hiking is a good option too. The place was clean, and the staff were super friendly. It...

Stay 3 nights there, staff super friendly, everything is clean and tidy , breakfast is nice and enough to start your morning ( coffee, toast, cereal milk, fruit ) . Super well located and is safe. Maybe it will be even nicer if they have a pc to use but apart from that I was super happy.

Impeccable efficient professional respectful customer service. Staff were friendly cordial very helpful. I would highly recommend to friends associates and colleagues as a comfortable clean wonderful place to stay in HI Hostel Faro- Pousada de Juventude

I choose Orange3 out of all the other hostels as it has a gender-specific room. I booked a "Bunk Bed in Female Dormitory Room" but when I was there, the counter staff said they only had mixed dorm rooms and don't know why I could have booked a "female dorm room". I showed them my booking that clearly stated it. I was a solo female traveller and felt safer with a female...

Stayed for 2 nights during a surf trip. Great location in short driving distance to lots of surf spots. Lovely helpful staff. The hostel has a great practical design and has everything you need as a surfer or hiker (both of which there are lots in the area). It has a great lounge and kitchen, though restaurants are across the road as well. The location in Aljezur is gr...

We stayed here for one night only and found it to be very good value with friendly staff and pleasant surroundings. We didn’t use the swimming pool but it looked very attractive and there were plenty of sun loungers. We would consider booking for a holiday sometime in the future.

Such a fantastic time spent in this very homely place . We loved everyone who worked there they really made us feel at home. This place is a gem and great value for money. I will definitely come back 10/10 for me . Lana the receptionist was truly amazing. She made us feel so welcome and at home . I look forward to seeing her again. Even the cleaning lady Florian was f...

A nice, well equipped modern building in a surprisingly good location. Easy walk to the town centre and waterfront. I only wish they had a little more than "Hong Kong" sized shower cubicles and something to hang your shower stuff in them, but that aside, no complaints whatsoever. Brilliant!

There were no where near enough bathrooms, one per floor with up 16 people. The bathrooms had lots of things broken including no toilet seat. The room was clean but noisy next to the road and with a dorm room on the same floor. The kitchen had 4 stoves which would not work of other appliances were in use. The staff were good and helpful.

We went there to spend one week in Lagos for our holidays, despite some bad reviews we can say that the place was clean enough and the people who work in this hostel were amazing, all kind person that offer us free wine during the evening and share their stories with us. We spend a really good time there, highly recommended.

We had a room with a private bath which was really tasteful and nicely done. While it's a hostal the room could have been in a midrange hotel for double the price. Very modern and clean, the from looks like an old building but the interior is surprisingly modern.

The room was really lovely and clean though we had some issues checking in due to the hostel being unfamiliar with Agoda. It was quite a good location in the middle of everything though that also meant it can get pretty noisy especially in the morning with construction around as well as other visitors in the hallways.

enjoyed the stay here, was good to stay away from the bar area which gets a bit hectic. real close to the beach, however it's up on top of a cliff, which you can walk down or take a stroll down a hill in the other direction. nice pool, only a few apartments to not too many people. 30 - 40 min walk into town, or a cheap cab ride. way too many aussies in lagos fo...

Yet another fantastic stay here, rooms spotless, friendly staff, pool area clean with plenty sunbeds. Its a 20 minute walk into the marina but the hotel.put on a courtesy bus 3 times a day.Buffet breakfast has something for everyone at €7.Will be back again in September

PROS this hotel is the ideal location if you are looking to stay in Albufeira. It is less than 10 minutes walk to either the Old Town or the New Town (the strip) with beaches on either side. There are many cafes and restaurants nearby with varied price ranges. The staff at this hotel are friendly, they offered to keep my bags for me in a secure locked cupboard until ch...

A good hostel in the centre of old town. They have a sister hostel just across the road (Made Inn). Staff are all very competent and friendly and will recommend places to eat at and drinks after. The port by the river is walking distance and touristy but still very pleasant to stroll.

Apartments have everything you need and is very clean staff very helpful and friendly great location near to all bars shops etc but away from the noise would recommend to anyone to stay I go at least 6 times a year I will definitely be returning to squash once again thank you squash for making my holiday

We arrived without much expectations but this place was a top notch! the location is super as it is 10 minutes walk to the center. WOW!! what a breakfast it had it all, very tasty, super fresh and the...

Great location. A minute walk from the small strip with bars and restaurants. We didn’t have any noise issues in the 2 bedroom apt. We we’re expecting much about the balcony as it wasn’t in the photos but it was surprisingly big. Bedrooms were grand and both had aircon units. Living room and kitchen were good too. Only problem I had was we stayed for 3 nights and the c...

My hubby and I came to Lagos for our honeymoon and found Suite Thing hostel to be the perfect place to stay. Our request for a late check-in was well accommodated and before arrival we were left instructions on how to access the property and our bedroom. The room was immaculate, cosy and beautifully decorated. It was clear that a great deal of thought had been put int...

My review will be for the Pestana Blue Alvor Resort across the street. We were upgraded due to an overbooking on the Pestana Delfim. The Blue Alvor was a 5 star brand new resort. Opened in May 2019 with everything that you may ask. Buffet restaurant was great. Kids club was amazing for the little ones. Don’t have anything to say wrong. All went great and recommend t...

It was very pleasant and relaxing. Staff was nice and did everything to meet our needs. Environment was calm and it was great to enjoy the pool and to take the breakfast on the balcony. I booked this hotel mistaking it for a hotel with a similar name that i’d previously stayed at. By the end of our stay I was so pleased the mistake had been made as the hotel proved to be better. Food fabulous, extensive choice, friendly staff & exceptional cleanliness. The only negative I have is the inconsiderate guests who are on a mission to get their pool towels ...

The hotel is perfectly located on the beach. It is just 15 minutes walk along the boardwalk to the town centre. I would definitely recommend paying a little extra for a room with a fabulous sea view. The hotel is located near the marina of Olhao, it has a beautiful view of the marina of you book a sea view room. The hotel has a nice in- and outdoor swimming pool. Beautiful hotel and facilities really good. I would certainly recommend this hotel,. The only small criticism is the breakfast staff were not particularly enthusiastic, and could do with a little training. In customer service. Small things make a difference, but overall I would give this hotel a positive review and certainly recommend it for both golfers and holiday ...

We have stayed twice at this hotel this year, and we tell our friends if they plan to visit the south of Portugal, they are making a mistake not staying at this hotel. The hotel is maintained at very high standards, and the staff is friendly with the location second to none.

This is the place for you if you like golf and relaxing. The hotel is very comfortable! Standard room could have a little bit more space. The hotel is very clean , with good pool, pool area and grounds. The hotels location is not ideal as it is a little way to the beach. Free shuttle available only till September 30th as the beach club in Alvor is closing by this date. ...

This is a lovely place to relax as a couple or with family. Caters for both with an adult only pool and one more suitable for families. Right in the middle of the Algarve countryside, but with a shuttle to the beach it provides variety and you can be away from the busy crowds.

The thing that let this resort down was the staff. On reception they were unhelpful. At the bar you had to get your own drinks as they never seemed available to serve you. This is down to management as they were also unhelpful and lack of good training. The resort was kept clean but the pool was freezing cold. This resort is fine if you own a property there but not if...

Cascade is a well positioned resort with a trail directly to the main attraction - Ponta Piedade. The pool, jacuzzi and spa complex are best in class with all modern amenities.
