Ha Noi hotels & places to stay

We got the 5-star treatment at the Diamond Elegance and had a great couple of days unwinding and looking round the old quarter of Ha Noi, which starts right outside the front door. Check in was first rate and all the staff were consistently helpful. The in-house restaurant put on a great breakfast but the menu for other meals was limited which is not surprising for a small, boutique, hotel and they provided a list of several good local restaurants at check-in. The room was very good but the furniture could have been better arranged to make the most of the space.

the staff were very friendly and tried valiantly to get the wi-fi to work above the second floor. in never did until i returned from halong bay. the breakfast had little or no western food with the exception of toast and cold cereal. even the omelette chef left it runny and somewhat unfamiliar. on the other hand, if you like soups, steamed vegetables and seafood there was lots to eat. the bell men were hard working and very eager to help as we're the front line staff. there dinner menu was more than acceptable to my tastes and the quality seemed great. i did not like that smoking is allowed in the lobby - this needs to stop immediately. also, the tours of ha noi and halong bay all seemed to be a long ways away and connecting with them took a 20 minute taxi ride, which the tour company paid. it does mean your 8:00 o'clock tour really begins at 7:30 am. this can be difficult after getting in on a later flight into the city.

The staff really try their best to make you feel welcomed and comfortable! No task was to small or difficult for them to try and assist with. We stayed for two weeks which I think is longer then most passing through the hotel and the staff made us feel like we had lived there forever remembering our names and what we liked asking about trips we had done and what we got up to during the day. Wasn’t very impressed with Agoda when we had a mix up with the booking but that was in no way down to the hotel. The hotel was mostly peaceful and relaxing although some noise from building but if you’ve seen Hanoi you can’t throw a stone with some sort of construction happening!! Very central and easy to walk to all areas with the beautiful temperate rooftop pool to unwind and relax after a lot of exploring. Thankyou a million times to the staff! We wish you all the best and Would highly recommend and hopefully can return Sometime!

I totally in love with my stay at Quoc Hoa hotel. From here, we were only steps away from the famous Pho on 45 Bat Dan, 20 steps away from the famous (and to my taste, the best of the best, representing the essence of Hanoi culinary) Ba Thin dessert and to many more amazing shops & eateries. On top of that, the staffs were super supportive and helpful. The room amenities were top-notch. Even at the 5-stars hotels, I could hardly find the small sewing kit for cases that I needed one. They even help us to replace the normal only-shavers electric outlet for the 120V & 240V electric outlet for us to use our water toothpick! I would definitely come back to stay at Quoc Hoa hotel for my next visit!

We booked 3 rooms and stayed there for 2 nights. It's located at the heart of old quarter and within walking distance to night market (5 mins), hoan kiem lake (10mins) and lots of street food/restaurants nearby. The staff are very helpful and always greet with a smile. Even though we couldn't get one of the balcony rooms that we booked, the manager was accommodating and gave us a bigger deluxe room and free drinks for our group. The hotel and the rooms are quite new/clean and everything is provided in the room (including the extension cords with multi-country sockets). Breakfast buffet has a decent spread and good taste overall. Overall, I would come back to this hotel again if I were to visit hanoi in the future.

The building is quite old, my unit somehow had smell of old house which I didnt like. Facilities in the apartment were new and clean. Breakfast was ok. I traveled alone for a business trip and booked a one bedroom apartment but they didnt have it and put me in a spacious 2 bedroom unit instead, very comfortable if anyone is traveling with big groups. Location is good, convenient, especially if you have any work to do with US Embassy or American Center. Surrounding area has Highland coffee, several Bun Cha eateries, and a massive pharmaceutical market with lots of pharmacies along the street. Staffs are very helpful and friendly, thank you Ms Huong who's always smiling and cheerful to help me with my luggage and questions. Keep in mind this is a residence and not a hotel, they dont have bellboys but they do have trolleys in case you have bulky luggage. Highly recommend for family trips.

Staff were great, a bit robotic in delivery, I'm sure they'll naturalise as time goes on. The staff are really friendly and attentive. The location is ideal with easy access to everything. Bonus points for not being charged to keep my motorbike downstairs under the hotel :) As a new hotel (Oct 2014) everything was up to date, though being Vietnam the attention to detail on finishings was Vietnam standard. Example the shower sprays to the wall and creates a nice waterfall on to the floor :p Another example is the $2 100% plasticy plastic hairdryer that failed after blowing for 6secs, maybe the $6 one would have been up to the task? You can pay half (~$35) and get an OK place or pay double and stay here for an awesome room, great bathroom and excellent staff. I'll probably stay here when visiting Ha Noi in the future as value for money, it is great.

I am pleased to say that this return stay to Hanoi Hotel after 2 years has not let me down. Services and staff performance has improved tremendously. Very customer oriented staffs that will go all out to serve and help. The only thing that remained unchanged, unfortunately, is the ageing old rooms that have been there for almost 20 plus years. I think with all the revenues and profits of the hotel company, it is time to overhaul the old rooms. if not, there are many options available such as Lotte Hotel, which I have stayed there since its opening in September last year that boasts rooms that are more modern and high floors similar to 5 stars hotel.

This hotel is right on the water of the West Lake. The patio and pool area are away from the street, facing the lake, so it is quiet and peaceful with a nice view and outdoor area--a welcome oasis away from busy Hanoi. The room was clean and very nice for a reasonable price. The lakefront area around it has nice cafes and restaurants. The staff was extremely helpful and spoke English well. The food was good. They have a travel agent on-site who can help with tours, too. I preferred staying here and then traveling to the Old Quarter. An Uber ride to the old quarter cost less than $2 and was quick. However, on the morning of my departure, the Uber driver had difficulty finding the right street and was delayed. Best to book a taxi with the hotel for departure to get a driver who knows how to get there without delay--and the price to the airport they could arrange was actually cheaper than Uber. Overall, I'm very glad I stayed there, and would do so again in a heartbeat!

This hotel has some great features but the best is the location - if you want to be in the thick of the old quarter. Street converts to walking street at night. Very close to the night market. Other features include interconnecting family room (we have three older children) with spacious bathroom (incl. bath). Rooftop sundeck is pleasant for relaxing with a drink. Pool is located in the centre of the hotel but it’s not great - if your focus is a pool maybe look to another hotel. The front desk staff generally spoke adequate English and were always keen to please. Laundry by the kilo (AUD$3/kg) was good value and returned same day. Included breakfast was okay but nothing standout. The on site spa was not used by us except for mani/pedi and both offered good result. There was no “experience“ as such (uncomfortable chair next to the pool) but for AUD$5 for a basic mani and polish and AUD$7 for a French polish what can you expect? The manicurists had good skills. As noted, we didn’t use the other spa services. The hotel has a lift, hairdryers, complimentary biscuits, free wifi and Netflix (own account needed). Exchange rate was good and a simple transaction. Reception arranged cheap airport transfer (AUD$18). The beds were very firm but we slept well. Noise can be an issue particularly on Friday nights (Opera nightclub across the road) and I found earplugs helpful. Enjoy your stay at Hanoi Nostalgia. They are ready to please!

During a five-day stay at Hotel Brilliant, everything at this hotel is perfect. Like most smaller hotels in Hanoi, especially around the old town, Hotel Brilliant strives to provide the best service. In our opinion, Hotel Brilliant has succeeded in doing so. The location of the hotel is very close to the hustle center of Hoan Kiem lake. The hotel rooms are fully equipped and functional. The mattresses are clean and comfortable. Breakfast is complete enough, you can try PHO and iced Vietnamese coffee, it is delicious. The staff are working hard, something that we have rarely encountered in the hotel industry these days. We highly recommend this hotel for those visiting Hanoi.

When you look for a good place to stay in the Old City of Ha Noi, you can go there: charming and clean rooms with a rich equipment , a very helpful, friendly and competent staff at the reception with excellent travel tips and good bookings - a wonderful breakfast buffet - and a location in the middle of the vibrant Old City, only some steps back home after a funny evening. Really to recommend, I go back the next time I visit Ha Noi.

If you don't want a cheap and basic place, but also don't want an over priced high end establishment where a beer cost 20 times the street price, then Tirant I think is the perfect middle ground. Staff are excellent, in fact if there was another word to say better than that I'd use it - they really do have customer service. Hana, Chester, Joy, Jake are just some of the staff who made our stay most memorable. Chester's ice coffee was a work of art! The location is great, just a few minutes walk to the lake or into the Old Quarter. The pool is relaxing, but I didn't get to the gym. The restaurant on the 12th floor has a great view as does the roof top bar. Over the past 14 years we have stayed at 5 hotels in Ha Noi from budget to high end, but as you can guess I highly recommend Tirant and will be staying there for any future visits

Stayed here for one night before returning to our regular Ha Noi hotel, just for a change. Hotel is well located near Hoan Kiem Lake and tourist area. Hotel has recently been extended, and that is obvious on the 10th floor where the restaurant and pool are located; works not yet complete, pool out of service. Our room was spacious and comfortable. TV system is still the old system, not HD digital. Staff are helpful, welcoming and friendly. We went to the top floor restaurant considering having dinner, but the restaurant was empty and not inviting, so we went elsewhere. At breakfast the food was okay, but the serving area is cramp and chaotic. The cooking station is too small and orders get lost in the numerous staff rushing about trying to over service guests. Dining room needs a reevaluation to lay out. The pool was closed for repairs and due to be reopened in January 2015. Nothing seems to be happening, so that date is probably optimistic. This is a brand new hotel. It has a nice fresh decor, which made us feel at home. Staff was nice, though pretty hard to understand at times. We did really like this one, and even came back to it twice, but It does have some downsides so I’ll try giving a neutral review. Rooms are pretty small but very modern and have a good vibe to them. The bed is incredibly comfortable!! Room structure is pretty weird and there’s no real separation between the bathroom and the bed area, which makes it hard to avoid disturbances if someone is sleeping. The safe didn’t have batteries when we arrived and so they just came and *replaced* the whole safe 🤦‍♂️ what’s the point of having a safe if one can just grab it and go?! There are also little annoyances like no hangers for wet towels, or no stool to place luggage on. The “closet” is just a tiny open rack. Breakfast is good enough in Vietnamese standards. We’ve stayed in 4 different hotels around the old quarter area and we loved this location the most - it’s just outside the chaos, but still just a 5 minute walk away, and the French Quarter area is pretty damn beautiful and relaxing. Right by the hotel there’s the only real French bakery we found in Vietnam - L’epicerie - at the Sofitel Metropole hotel, and their pastries are really great 👍🏻 We highly recommend staying here, it’s a great deal.

The Ha Noi Pearl hotel was a fantastic experience from the very first impression to the last. All staff from the first person on the front door through to the front desk staff, restaurant breakfast staff and the persons who cleaned our rooms were amazing. Breakfasts were amazing, great variety to temp any palet. I would recommend this hotel every time if travelling to Ha Noi.

Agoda give information of the price ! We booked family room which stated in Agoda good for 4 adults with 1 double bed & 1 single bed . However we will told by receptionist we have requested for extra bed since we are 4 peoples in a room and there is an extra charge for the extra bed like SGD $30 per night . So Agoda please provide correct information! The hotel staffs were very friendly and helpful , we were served with welcome juice and hot towel upon arrival. The cleanliness of the hotel was superb and the location was not as noisy as some other hotel . The breakfast buffet spread reasonable and you can order eggs and beef / chicken noodle soup . The hotel is very close to the local market and night market especially Fri to Sun . Overall we would recommend this hotel to everyone because the Font Desk Manager ( Male ) and his team ensure you will get the best service and satisfaction! Bravo to Serene Boutique Hotel & Spa for accommodating us.

We booked this hotel from the Airport - and were so glad we did!. This small hotel is Excellent! It opened in April 2018 - and everything works in the room, the bathroom is a treat with the latest shower and ablution technology, the breakfast is delicious, all the staff are attentive and helpful. And it is located just on the edge of the Old Centre of Hanoi - so not quite in the most hectic streets. The room size is typical of these small Hanoi hotels, but much thought has been put into the design of this one. Lighting and power points are top class, as is wifi throughout the hotel. And the noodle soup in the generous breakfast was the best I've ever had! The only shortcoming we could detect is the somewhat limited space for a large travelling case - but there is an adequate built-in wardrobe with hanging space and a generous room safe. Overall: Couldn't have been better and it will be our regular 'go-to' hotel in Hanoi.

One of the best hotels I have stayed in and without a doubt, the best in Hanoi. I travel extensively and have stayed in Hanoi many times over the last few years. The hotel is in a fantastic position, the accommodation and facilities are of high quality and really good value for money. That said, without a doubt, the attention and service levels provided by the staff are what make staying here a special experience. The staff goes out of their way to ensure you are comfortable. I would like to especially highlight the wonderful service provided by Ms. Ha. She went above and beyond to ensure that my family and I were taken care of, even noticing that it was my birthday during the stay and organizing a surprise cake. Thank you - we will be back.

After a slew of bad hotels, my sister and I were so relieved to finally get to a beautiful hotel, perfectly situated in the old quarter of Hanoi. It's not the cheapest, but it's still a good value for your money. We got to the hotel a bit early before our check in, but the lobby held our luggage while we walked around the busy neighborhood. The twin room we had was clean, and had a great shower. We really appreciated the fitness room and pool on the roof. The views are incredible, both day and night. Breakfast that was included was a lovely buffet spread with good variety and located in their tenth floor restaurant. The staff were attentive, friendly, and helpful. It was also very convenient to have them help us book a bus to Cat Ba island that picked us up from the hotel. The hotel is close to everything - cafes, restaurants, night market, Hoan Kiem lake, and St. Joseph's Cathedral, just to name a few. Would definitely stay here again next time we're in Hanoi! :)

This hotel has recently re opened and has been renovated. The standard is very high and extreamly clean. We were very impressed with the reception staff, they spoke very good English and were extreanly polite and helpful. Hotel is little nosy due to the road and construction works however we have found that every hotel we have stayed in during our stay in Vietnam is nosy-you can never escape the traffic beeping at each other. Thought our twin room was very modern and spacious, thought the stay over all was great value for money and would definitely stay again.

Hai Bay has just opened so the facilities and quality of the hotel are great. Rated as a 3 star hotel but I have definitely felt that the service provided was 5 star. Staff was always so friendly and welcoming. The location of the hotel is ideal as well. It is within walking distance of all the popular and touristic places so it was very convenient for us, especially with kids. There are so many food places around so it made our staycation really worth it. Definitely recommend it and would come back soon!

The hotel has a very good location in the centre of Ha Noi. The hotel was very new and everything within the hotel and our room was very satisfying. It's not a lot of facilities, they have a restaurant in the basement. The breakfast was a bit disapointed. They had options to buy With and without and it cost quite alot more for the breakfast. The restaurant looked very Nice on the photo's so we decided to include the breakfast. However the breakfast is not served in the restaurant and wasnt really that special. At arrival, my luggage was delayed by the airplane Company. The staff at the hotel were really amazing and helped me out alot With phone Calls, contant and assistance. This is a wonderful boutique hotel, where the staff always knows you and offers great service. The hotel has strict smoking policy, which is wonderful for us as non smokers. Our room is great and spacious, with a wonderful balcony. Must stay in the junior room if you have a chance to stay at this hotel. The breakfast was served with many choices of all excellent food. We will definitely come back to this hotel when having a chance to be in Ha Noi.

Good variety of food at breakfast and convenient location. Close to many famous eateries, good sound proofing system in the building. Had a great sleep! The staffs are friendly, especially the receptionist, Rosie, and a bellman (not sure his name, but even though his English speaking skill is limited, he tries his best to communicate with me and my friend, and brief us with the facility of the hotel). Rosie is a very nice and patient receptionist, she tries her best to fulfill my requirement and gave me tips to go around in Hanoi. However, I suggest to have a water dispenser to be made available at the lobby area for hotel guest. Also, I was told by the sales team of Luxury Old Quarter Hotel that the hotel has some international adaptors to be loan to the guests, Rosie did lend it to me, however, when she's not on duty (I stayed in this hotel for three nights, one night, then rechecked in again after a night at Halong Bay, for two nights), I requested the adaptor from another receptionist, she said the hotel has not international adaptor for the hotel guests and hence refused to lend it to me. I think this has to be clarified. Overall, my experience in this hotel is pleasant, I will recommend this to my friends and family. Will return again when I next visit Hanoi!

We only stay for 1 night before head home, we booked studio room got upgrade to the best room of hotel room 804. 200% worth the money! Walk in the room big space, large bed, balcony, large bath room, bath with window view! Top quality decor, I found that when I use their lobby public toilet I already know this hotel build with good quality material! I know their services going to be good right after my booking, I actually mistakenly booked twice on same day, one on agora, one on hotel website, within 5 mins I received email from hotel to double check if there any mistake for Booking? We had breakfast in hotel not bad options, but didn't eat there for lunch & dinner, because Hanoi have so many good restaurant with bargain price!! Overall we enjoy our stay, and we will go back again also recommend friends & family stay there.
