Where to stay in Nan Province
Nan Province hotels & accommodations
I'm a seasoned traveler, traveling extensively in South/Southeast Asia each year for 2-3 months each time(currently based in Laos, teaching English)....but this was my first visit to Nan. Unfortunately, not one of the hotel staff speak any English. The young ladies at the Reception were most charming and tried to be helpful. They only had maps of Nan in Thai - but...
We stayed three nights to do day trips around Nan province. The hotel is really beautiful and the bed comfortable. Breakfast choices are limited, but there are plenty of other places close to the hotel. Staff was very friendly. Would definitely stay there again.
NanNakara is far more than we expected, it was at great location (only few steps to Nan landmark - Phumin Temple and Nan Museum, great spacious room with amenities travelers may need, great breakfast with beautiful taste and decoration, most of all, great staff with attentive service (they prepare special dish for Vegetarian every morning). I am sure to stay here agai...
The staff was so very nice and friendly. I chose Front Standard room type which quiet old but so big space. I really like the breakfast, soft-boiled rice was extremely delicious. It made me feel like when I was a kid. Anyway, if I have a chance to visit NAN, this resort will be the one of my choice. (I will book another room type and try the best COCOA drinks)
My wife is from Nan, so we go there often and decided to try a new place this time. Nan Sripanna looked great, and in many ways it is. Nice quiet location, spacious well-designed rooms, helpful staff, and great views. BUT... when we came back to the hotel at 5 pm planning to shower and rest before going out to dinner, I was surprised that there was no hot water. My w...
We didn't stay first in Sasidara and it also will not be our last stay. Quality is great, the hotel well maintained, the staff friendly and the location perfect if you want to mix Nan culture with a relaxing stopover on the way to Luang Prabang. Compare with other top travelers destinations (same like Chiang Khan for example), Nan and here the Sasidara Resort is a perf...
Perfect hotel with perfect location. Nice and friendly staffs, they did what im I requested without said no at all. Lovely hotel owner, they are always there at the breakfast to check all guest satisfaction and make sure all your stay is going smooth. The lovely owner also recommended me what to do and where to go, feeling like you are at home Delicious breakfast. A...
Although hotel located really close to the Airport but at night it amazingly quiet (maybe because there is no flight around Nan at night). The room is supper nice luxury and huge. Too bad we checked in quite late so didn't have time for swimming pool and other facility. Only two things which I picked up that worth to mention are some bugs and lizard inside our bathroom...
It's near by nan city center but you should have a car to come here and travel around nan. Staff are so nice and friendly, room and the resort is so good. I would go back to stay this properties for sure.
Wow, I am so glad I booked this hotel after searching for many days online about hotels in Nan. Phumin Place is a beautiful haven, the rooms are huge and so comfortable and the staff are above and beyond helpful. The location is about a 5-second walk to the Night Market and Wat Phumin, but if you want to go further afield, the free bikes on offer are good quality and c...
The hotel is not far from Nan city center on the road to Wat Phradhat Chae Haeng. If you travel by a van with driver like what we did, it is convenient. We also love the breakfast and the hotel ambience. We much appreciate the hotel staff, as they were very attentive, friendly and helpful. The room is big and clean, but the pillows are not that comfortable. However, w...
Booked a Superior Twin for three nights. Hotel seems to be ageing but is clean and well outfitted - bed was comfortable, room included a small fridge, kettle (but no coffee), wardrobe, desk, table and chair, and a balcony overlooking the large clean beautiful pool. TV with no English channels, but that's standard in rural areas like this. No room safe. Bathroom was sma...
The hotel locates near Nan market and major Nan attractions like Wat Phumin and the National museum. It's about 30 minute walk to those attractions. The best thing about this hotel is its owner who made sure we had the most memorable stay in Nan. He and his guest truly lived up to Northern Thai's hospitality! He helped us booked the car to visit nearby national parks w...
This hotel is in an excellent location in the city centre. Nothing at all to complain about and I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Nan. I was a lone female traveller of Thai nationality. Very good for me!
Nan We took the AC bus from Chiang Mai to Nan city. Nan province is in the north east of Thailand and borders Laos. Nan city on the river Nan, is a quiet and as it turned out, attractive and extremely clean little city (population about25,000). Nan, apparently, was an independent kingdom into the 20th century and was only fully integrated into Thailand in 1931. Bet...
We have driven around most parts of Nan and Boaklua View is in our view the most ideal location with fantastic roads connecting to Pua and Nan city (fantastic scenaries). Food is great (love the weekday breakfast especially) and service was excellent especially on weekday when there is much less visitors. The resort is pretty quiet throughout the day giving the visitor...
Nan Boutique Hotel has become one of our favourite hotels. This hotel is a little bit far from most of interesting spots like old temples, walking street and cafés. but that makes it so unique. It's so quiet and peaceful. The swimming pool is great. You can look out to the rice field and Nan river. The best part is that they make breakfast fresh every morning such as b...
Dhevaraj Hotel was very pleasant. The rooms were smallish but they were modern looking and nicely done up with good lighting and furniture. Mattresses were very good, not too hard or too soft. Mini-bar available in the room. No tea/coffee making facilities, mini safe or hair dryer in the room. Also only one available power point in the room. Furniture was modern and e...
Amazing view on a hill. Gem of Nan province. I only booked for 1 night, we regret we should stay a few days more. The swimming pool is right in front of the room facing the green scenery. Only 4 rooms, so full of privacy. Very close to the main road
-Very good location. -Friendly and very helpful staff. -Serve the best breakfast ever!
This place is really beautiful as all the interior and furniture in- and outside is very stylish. You can see that the owner has a good eye for style. The Lodge also has a small restaurant/bar where you can enjoy some food and a beer in the nice garden. The room was maybe a bit smaller than other rooms we've seen so far but still big enough and also especially pretty d...
The rooms here are quite nice and breakfast is good. 15 minutes to bus station and can walk to main attractions in Nan.
From the moment we found the Nan Seasons Boutique website, we were smitten. It only got better as we reached out to them to help us plan our Nan Region Trek and they arranged a personal guide for us that was beyond our expectations. For months before we arrived, the team at Nan was responsive, caring and helpful. Once we actually arrived, we were blown away by the ac...
Nan if rapidly expanding in terms of hotels available to travellers, the Rapeepong is well located for sightseeing and some great restaurants are with easy walking distance, namely The Crossroads and Gin Restaurants. The Rapeepong offers good clean accommodation for a very attractive price, the rooms are a good size, beds are very comfortable for Thailand and good coo...
fantastic location near city radius, reasonably priced hotel with big spacious and clean rooms. charges below average of nan city 3-star hotel even at the peak season. hotel staff extremely efficient and helpful. within radius to all shops and market, bicycle rental shop. except hotel without wardrobe. I'll recommend to my friends and check in to this hotel my next vis...
This hotel so good, here so clean and comfortable. Good located also.
It was a very pleasant stay in peaceful Nan. Nice room with comfortable bed. Breakfast and coffee were so good.
The Hotel is beautifully decorated very near the airport and the City centre .. Staff are exceptional and very anticipated to guess needs , polite and very helpful. We all have a good time and enjoy staying there.
Cheap places to stay in Nan Province
location the guesthouse not far from airport and have a bicycle for free.
Simple room. I didn't like that the bathroom for the guests is the same as for customers of the restaurant. Good location, friendly staff (I could even enter the hostel at 4.30am)
I stayed 2 nites in the twin bunk bed room and 2 nights in the dorm. Both were extremely well designed to meet the needs of travelers. Very simple and clean. Loved the individual reading lamps and outlets in the bunk space to recharge electronics. Each shower stall had its own light and fan. And plenty of privacy. Aircon was great in both rooms. Food only allo...
I spent 2 nights here. The house is seperated into about 7 rooms for travellers. It might be occupied only 1 or 2 rooms on weekdays, you might feel lonely or afriad to stay alone there if that. The location is good to see many attractive places in Nan city. The owner is very nice, she came and picked me up at the house on my check out and drove me to the bus station.
The property isn't located right in the centre of action, but the clean and very spacious rooms and the exceptional hospitality of the owner all the difference. Great choice
A big thank you to the host Marco. The bungalow was very comfortable and very quiet. Too bad that Marco is moving soon. I would come back immediately. Ein grosses Dankeschön an den Gastgeber Marco. Das Bungalow war sehr gemütlich und äusserst ruhig gelegen. Schade, dass Marco demnächst umzieht. Ich würde sofort wiederkommen.
Loved stsuimg here. The town of Nan is mellow and all I did was eat and rest. Nan guest house was the place to do it, especially on the upper roof top with views of the town. Comfortable and clean in a traditional old wood house with addition. Aircon worked well, warm water shower and the water in the bathroom drains well. It's nice they provide water and coffee for ...
Lush garden and lovely setting. Great breakfast spread. Helpful and cheerful staff.
What a pleasant place! Nice people, room, scene etc. It felt like home-stay. This place will be inspired you to create new idea and push you up from a boring life.
We used to visit this small town many times. We could see good and bad points of these hotels. Fah Place Hotel is one another with good location where we can walk to any places. The owner and staff are friendly. We were leaving early at 05.00 am. The hotel made an impressive morning call both by phone and door knock. Bike rent was easily returned at 05.00 am...
This is a small hotel with character in Nan Province. Close to Nan walking street and many attraction in Nan. There are 6 rooms which nicely decorated. Not large but comfy, feel like stay at home. The hotel also provide free WiFi. Staff will provide you with the password when checking in. There are also bicycle for guest to borrow.
Nothing was outstanding here and nothing was a problem either! I'd stay again for sure
New apartment building at the outskirts of Nan . Basic but all that you need is there . Parking , wifi , good shower . Downpoint is a lot of roosters that will wake you up early .
Place is clean with daily cleaning. Staff friendly. No breakfast served but have good noodle soup that is priced fairly. I would recommend renting a car and go to Pua to see beautiful rice fields. The city of Nan is a very clean place and great to explore. Yes, I would stay here again as I just need a place to stay that outs clean, comfortable, and quiet, which this pl...
No no
I stayed at this Guesthouse whilst exploring the town and province. Neat, modern and comfortable room with ensuite shower. Family run, the friendly owner went out of her way to help me plan my daily excursions and make sure that I was comfortable. No food available however free coffee on offer all day. They picked me up from the airport (small charge) and dropped me of...
this place is a perfect match with nan province. peaceful, natural, low-key but with much 'sabai.' you should rent a bike in nan anyway, so it wont be hard to get to and from town/guesthouse. you could easily walk from airport if you wanted to. three generations of the family will be there with you. it is just a nice place. i never write reviews but i did for this plac...
Middle of the nowhere but single staff member was ok. Clean room, good A/C and bathroom. Nothing nearby, no breakfast, not even a restaurant. Needs extensive upgrade and renovation.
very valuable good staff owner take care closely to guest. Good resort in Nan !!!
Staff was friendly and the price was good, everything you would expect from a budget hotel. bathroom was kind of smelly and poorly design if that bothers you, then you'd probably want to find a more expensive place.
fantastic location near city radius, reasonably priced hotel with big spacious and clean rooms. charges below average of nan city 3-star hotel even at the peak season. hotel staff extremely efficient and helpful. within radius to all shops and market, bicycle rental shop. except hotel without wardrobe. The hotel has a pet monkey on premises. "Meetang" is small and playful. He was wearing a little green t-shirt because Nan can be a cold city for a monkey. He had a good smell and was very clean. Unfortunately, he was still sleeping at our check out.
Pua is a small town of Nan province. The best time to visit should be when the Chomphu Phuka flower blooms which will be in February. In winter time the weather is also presant. The european chalet style make this hotel differs from any other resorts in this area, actually it is the first hotel in this town. The hotel is rather old, however for stay overnight and going...
very good staff, so kind and friendly
Sun's guesthouse is not named after himself, he tells us but after the Sanskrit word for beauty. Situated in a little residential area outside of the main city of Nan, it is within walking distance of the bus stop, which was a relief as there were no tuktuks or motos at the bus stop at 10pm at night. The location itself means that the surrounding area is pretty quiet ...
Well, we actually got some heat when we arrived since we arrived pretty late (around 9pm) and really tired, to find out that our reserved standard room have no attached bathroom (which totally my false) and the room is really small with super thin wall. After some discussion with lady owner, we agreed to move to more luxury room as she offered with extra payment. This ...

The resort has extensive grounds on the side of a hill, steep in parts. However it all looks a bit run down and in need of some TLC but there are new owners who are planning a gradual series of major improvements so hopefully it will improve. We stayed in two of the rooms in the villa section. The rooms were definitely small, and looked very plain and tired. Décor was...
The location is very close to Doi Samer Dao. The room is good with sufficient toiletries. There's a balcony at the front on the 2nd floor where you can sit back and relax. The owner and staffs are very nice and helpful. The cons for this place is the wifi signal is quite weak.

One night stop on a road trip through Nan and Pua. Interesting, remote resort. Take a resort bicycle and explore the super-friendly local village. Good dinner at the resort. But expect an early night - unless you have your own entertainment. Grim breakfast. Who wants to eat cold congealed fried eggs? The super hero and cartoon character figures scattered around the...
