Sakon Nakhon Province hotels & places to stay

Not for one that’s claustrophobic. Who designs room without any windows? I mean look, a dinosaur could be eating your car parked below without you even knowing it. Now the really good points which I will begin with, was the linen and bed were very comfortable to sleep in. There were 2 bears pleasantly placed on the bed for me to hug in my sleep, which was probably why this hotel cost a little more than the others. There was breakfast included, congee was fantastic. I could also order 2nd and 3rd servings till I am full. As again, it was one of my stays during a business trip. The room however was not much of a conducive environment as it was all closed in. The only outdoor scenes I got were from the TV which flashed it occasionally. They had so many channels but it was Thai news 99.9% of the time. In room amenities, well, everything you needed to keep your clothes, to sleep in and to take a shower were all there. A little pamphlet and a fridge were hints to indicate a mini-bar existed somewhere. The pamphlet indicated that coke, beer and some mysterious items that were written in Thai cost how much. But I could neither locate coke, beer nor of any of those mysterious Thai items. As I was having a teleconference 7 pm, I tried room service but was told the kitchen was closed even thought it stated kitchen closes at 9 pm. They were however kind enough to fetch KFC for me. In comparison to what the other hotels can offer this province, I have to say it was a pleasantly decent stay. Don’t expect much from accommodations from this province, this is Sakon Nakhon we are talking about.

outside of hotel may need a coat of paint but the inside of the hotel was excellent.staff were very helpful when you asked about anything and if they did not know the answer they would find out for you.the location of the hotel was perfect for our purpose as it is not very far from the centre of sakon nakhon so it was quite quiet most of the time. the resturant is very popular with the local people as it was busy most nights of our stay.

lovely hotel. lovely staff. the only problem is that it's hard to find especially when using Google maps in English. the hotel itself has nothing in English not even the room numbers which is difficult when you go back to the hotel late at night and can't remember where your room is. the breakfast is super Thai style - not even a knife to spread butter on your toast. the breakfast is also very spicy. I'd stay there again anytime I'm in Sakon Nakon.

My stay in The Majestic Sakon Nakhon Hotel was very convenient and easily accessible to all kinds of places and services in the city. The hotel is situated in the city centre hence making it very easy to find. The food was exceptionally good in addition the staff were also readily in providing assistance. The only thing that should be improved is their wifi which could only be used for a few hours then the password had to be changed constantly.

First impressions are important. Regrettably, the first impression of U-Hotel, Sakon Nakhon is poor. On being presented with an Agoda voucher the hotel’s reception the staff went into a private huddle. One then left reception before returning to inform us that they didn’t have a booking in my name for two nights in a Deluxe Double-bed room. Have never encountered this with any previous Agoda booking of a Thai hotels and bearing in mind the problem Patrick L had with the same hotel in October 2011 plus they were very keen to know what I paid Agoda, I was suspicious and had to forcefully demand to see the “Duty Manager”. The upshot was that after about 40 minutes, the most of which the “Duty Manager” seemed to spend on the phone, a Deluxe Double-bed room for the first night and an “ordinary” room (small and windowless) for the second was found. The failure of the relationship between Agoda and the U-Hotel to function effectively came close to ruining what is and will remain to be one of the proudest and most important days in the life of my wife. Like many thousand others, we were in town for her to receive her degree from the Crown Prince. This booking problem is a big shame. Almost all the points, good and bad, reported by other reviewers where experienced. The bad would seem to be easily remedied. The hotel itself is quite pleasant with the staff friendly and, with the exception of those encountered at reception on check-in and at check-out (another 30 minutes), helpful and pro-active. In the main this is a very interesting, small hotel. It needs just a little more effort by the management for it to improve from a 4 point rating to the 7 point its’ location and style deserves, Add in a little imagination and it could easily fit in to the boutique category thus justifying its’ rather high pricing structure relative to other hotels in Sakon Nakhon.

Chuantanapanya Resort is about 2km from the centre of Sawang Daen Din....turn at the lights by the Bangkok Bank on the road to Song Dao. Its a very relaxing resort with detached wooden bungalows with balcony,aircon,fridge,kettle,bathroom etc.Its not luxurious but still very comfortable. There is a small restaurant in the resort where you can order breakfast or also have delivered to your room.This costs extra than the basic bungalow price......staff are very pleasant. Adjoining the resort is the Baan Swetkamol restaurant (same owners).Its set in lovely well kept gardens and has private salsas as well as the main restaurant to dine in.The price of food and drink here is pretty reasonable and its nice to spend a couple of hours here before returning to your bungalow. Both the resort and the Baan Swetkamol restaurant are well recommended.

The staff are outstanding at this basic but economical hotel. The reception is pleasant and professional, the rooms are basic but cleaned well, and there is 24-hour reception and security.. Simple hotel design works - bright and air, rooms have a desk and shelf for luggage. The beds are firm. Location is within easy walking distance of dozens of restaurants, Big C, and the city park and lakefront. The only issue is the weak wifi typical of Asian budget hotels. Not enough routers!

The Color Ville Resort is actually more of a motor inn than a typical resort. Even so, it was a wonderful place for my wife, daughter, and I to stay. Each room is its own building, built in the style of a barn. There was always one staff person present who spoke English whenever we needed to talk. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to any special request we had. Breakfast is “Thai simple” with toast & jam, cookies, and instant 3-in-One coffee. This is normal for Thai motor inns, but less than at a typical resort. The building where breakfast is served is exceptionally cute, looking like an old farm house with seating inside, on the wrap around patio, and on the rooftop. After breakfast hours, the farm house is open as a coffee & desert shop. We were always on the go during the day, so we did not get to sample any of these products, but they all looked delicious. Parking at Color Ville is sufficient, with individual parking places for those renting the larger barns, and additional parking for those in the smaller barns. Our bed was typical Thai-hard, but after five years in Thailand, we're very used to this. It is the standard for Thai lodging services. The bed in the big barn is king size with good pillows. There is ample room for an extra bed and all our stuff. The bathroom was adequate for our needs. The hotel is located less than 1 KM from the highway, on a well traveled and newly built side road. There are traditional Thai restaurants along this side road and numerous Thai and western restaurants throughout Sakon Nakhon, all within 10 KM of the hotel. There are no sidewalks along the road, so use caution when walking. I was disappointed to find that Color Ville does not offer bicycles for customer use, something I expect to find at a Thai resort. All in all, I found staying at The Color Ville to be quite pleasurable and very affordable. I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Sakon Nakhon with their own personal transportation.

I stayed in Esan Country House only for one night and I regret that I could not stay longer. Everything in this place is made with much love and awareness. I loved the beautiful small garden and the beautiful room (Lilawadee) very much. The mattress is excellent and the shower is very good. Although close to the airport the resort is very quiet. Very helpful and nice is the host Khun Rung. When time allows she shows guests around to worth seeing places in Sakon Nakhon. Very interesting and nice. This place was one of the best I ever stayed in on my 8 month trip to Thailand.

The last time we stayed, the owner called to the reception and we got an upgrade at a big discount (this was before the hotel was on Agoda.) Assuming similar arrangements could be made we made reservations directly thru Agoda. The Superior room, even though it said was for 2 people (and we requested special requirements), it only had single beds, very hard. Were told that one could only get a double or queen bed was to get the deluxe room (hotel only had superior or deluxe.) The price would then go from 600 baht to 1500 baht. The free breakfast wss very Thai style, coffee was instant, no tea, and the juice was not a fruit juice, but a red drink. It was a very quiet hotel but in the morning between the slamming of doors and the squeaking of chairs across the floor it was a little noisy. Our conclusion was this hotel was for the transient salesmen or women who had come to Sakon Nakhon on business and would be moving on to their next city to meet other customers.

I was looking for a cheap place to spend the night, and for the price I paid I wasn't expecting much. What a surprise! The room was bigger than I expected, and had about everything you would expect at a higher-priced hotel, including a TV, AC, and Wifi (I don't remember if there was a fridge). It was also very clean and tidy, and everything worked well. As far as location, it's a bit out of the way if you're on foot, but the city buses do pass close by. It's between the bus station and downtown, and not too far from either, so could be a nice spot if you have your own transportation. The staff was also friendly and helpful. Overall it was a very nice stay for an extremely low price. I would freely recommend this hotel, and wouldn't hesitate to stay again if I'm ever back in town.

actually I book 18th to 22nd 3 rooms, I Sakon Nakhon 18th night 8.00 o clock flight, I came to city I got wrong address and go to rai phuphan, this is around 60 km from sakon nakhon, one of my friends residence is there then we stay there 2 days, 20th evening we reached bangchak phuphan ,then we asked them for two days money back, but staff cooperate and give coopans to use restarent and shoping for that two days money.i am very thankfull to them

If you find yourself out here you will do no wrong in staying here. If you find yourself here you obviously have tour own arrangements for transport. It is family owned and run. My Thai wife called the number given with the booking (son) and was given another for the general manager (father). The establishment is new. The chalets have not long been completed and although the building appears to be complete the restaurant is nearly finished. The chalet is very clean and contains fridge with 2 bottles of complimentary water,, tv and aircon and it has its own covered driveway. We booked two chalets and the general manager gave directions to our driver. On arrival the manager helped us get some lunch as we gave some money to one of his aids who drove off and kindly returned with pad Thai as well as some drinks from 7/11. The grounds are quite big so it wouldn't surprise me if there are further developments here.

They call it a villa,i call it a room.very basic at best,no side lamps,doors dont close properly.shower you had to run around to get wet and right next to the toilet which is ridiculous.no kettle to make a coffe,honestly i could go on but to be fair it was pretty cheap but could be so much better with a little more thought..oh and enjoy all the lizards running all over the place..

there is a 10 bahtntruck bus nearby going into the city, 10km away. once i figured that out, i didn;t feel stranded. the staff drov me the 1/2 km to it and picked me up later. they had free wifi but didn't know the access password. i also got a great thai breakfaxr delivered to my cabin. it would be a perfext getaway for a couple, expecially if one of them spoke thai.

Not good. Bed rock hard. A breakfast was included but consisted of rice soup only. The main problem was that the bathroom had no ventilation whatsoever! No window, nothing. The fan that normally evacuates dampness and smells from a bathroom, sits on a wall in the bedroom! Incredible. Imagine the condensed smell after a few hours after using the toilet and shower. We also had to pay 250B for an extra pillow for one night!

There is no front desk for this small hotel, but owner is very friendly and accommodating and lives on site. Room and furnishings appear new, room is adequately sized, well lit and while bathrooom is on small size, there is nice shower with dual shower heads. Hotel is on outskirts so you will need to take tuk tuk into city center, walkable if you are fit and wanted exercise, about 20-30 minutes to night market city center.
