Texas hotels & places to stay

When I first got there, they upgraded me. I was excited the room was beautiful high off the river, great king bed. Well the TV didnt work and the loo was used and not cleaned. I went back to the desk and was given the smallest room they had. And the washroom just the same. I was so disappointed I left the first night crying. It was wasted money. My friend made me go back and try to enjoy it. So we slept the day away ate at the Hard Rock Cafe across the bridge. When we got back to the room, I decided to enjoy the patio but was interrupted by hotel security throwing a teen in the hallway. And they stayed there for 30 min. Police showed up and took the teen away. But GEEZ 341 dollars for 2 nights, I'd expect better. I also had the ac on and it was 40° and I was still sweating in the room. The day of check out I stripped the bed for the housekeeping, and by heck the pillows were yellow. Fluffy but yellow. Oh and the hallways made me feel vertiogiunous. Oh well, now I know better.

My wife and I don't get to stay in hotels often and were looking forward to staying in a nice hotel in the middle of downtown Austin. The staff was very nice and helpful but the room was definitely in need of an update. The tv was small and the carpet was stained. There was no cover on the duvet, just another sheet. We were only there one night and we didnt even spend a lot of time at the hotel so it's not a big deal. The room just seemed very beat up and in need of an update. If I include the room price plus the $48 to park in the garage for 1 night , it's just not a good value for the money. Mainly because I have stayed in hotels that cost half the price, had free guest parking and nicer amenities. Had hoped that it would've been a nicer room.

This hotel was amazing. My daughter lives the mini river that runs through the hotel lobby. She lived the koi fish swimming around. For me, the best part were the beds. I usually have a hard time falling asleep when I travel but the bed was so comfortable. I fell asleep almost instantly. My daughter and I wanted to go see the pool and followed the signs to another floor but we were never able to find it. If you need a place to stay in Houston, this is it.

The hotel is in a great location for an early flight out or late flight in. Shuttle was timely in coming to pick me up from the airport & get me to the hotel. My room was freezing during the night and when I tried resetting the control it only held for a short time. Another guest that I spoke to on my way out said that they had the same problem except their room was too hot. It was late and I didn’t want to have my sleep further disturbed by calling maintenance to come look at it so I just got up earlier than planned.

Traveling alone with my son and we were greeted by very friendly staff. My son was in heaven the minute we walked in. The room was very clean, small but expected as the building is older. I had read a lot of reviews and I was scared to book this place because of that. I am HAPPY I didn’t pay attention to that. The bathroom is small BUT clean!! Not sure why their was so many complaints about that. My son loved the pool, their were a lot of families so I felt very comfortable. At my sons request (he insisted I write a good review) the bar burgers are the BEST!!! Ladies at the bar were very sweet and took very good care of us. Make sure you look up water taxi times online-they can take a while to get to that stop. We decided to walk along the river and rode back to hotel on the boat-fun ride back. We WILL be back! It will be our to go place when we are in San Antonio.

We stayed here with another couple last weekend. We had adjoining rooms which worked out great! Rooms were clean, nicely decorated and roomy! Good breakfast, too! Perfect location! Right next to the Alamo and 2 blocks from Riverwalk. Staff was super friendly, as was everyone we met in Texas. Would love to go back to San Antonio and when we do, will definitely stay here again.

I recently stayed at the Omni Fort Worth for a work conference and decided to bring along my children (3 and 5) and mother. The room itself smelled and was clean upon entering. At bedtime we found that the sheets on the bed were not tucked in and just laid across the top of the bed. During check in the children were provided a small backpack of goodies which was a nice touch. The heated pool was certainly a perk for us considering our stay was during the winter months and little ones always equate a hotel stay to swimming in the pool. Valet was convenient and quick. The only issue we ran in to was getting a cart up to our room to take down our luggage. We called ahead that morning and asked that one be brought up at a certain time. 15 minutes after it was supposed to arrive a member of housekeeping made the call herself to have one brought up (she saw us trying to manage two little ones and luggage). After 15 more minutes we just decided to make two trips ourselves.

I booked a two nights at this hotel. I arrived very early 1:30am. The front desk didn't allow me to check in bec it should be 3am. I am very tired and sleepy at that time but I agreed to wait at the lobby with my luggage. After 20mins, the front desk came to me and said that i can't stay at the lobby and will have to leave and wait somewhere. I was like? Sir it's late already?! Where to you wait me to stay? It's just ridiculous and sad that some people are just inconsiderate and rude.

We booked for Memorial Day weekend last minute and lost a lot of affordable options due to being sold out. I was happy to find a hotel with a pool AND putt putt for such a small Price. Checking into the hotel I wasn’t expecting much but then was super pleased with what we had gotten! It was such a big room, very clean. Yes it is outdated compared to some but we didn’t care at all. The bed was super comfortable. We were in a king room with pull out sofa. I didn’t try it out but it was clean and my kids slept on it with no problem (ages 2 and 3). I already want to plan another trip to Galveston and want to return to Inn at the Waterpark. Best value you’ll find! Oh and as a side note.. the restaurant on property was very good!! Great for use who had been out in the sun at the beach far too long and wanted to stay close to our room. Great stay!

Girls trip at a beautiful hotel at Austin was the idea but only problem was the hotel. The hotel is beautiful but if you book 3rd party beware! Out of 4 reservations only 1 ran smooth. 2 reservations cancelled and 1 check in the room was dirty. The cancelled reservations ended with 1 double and 1 king, when reservation was for 2 doubles. At the bar lounge to lazy to provide glassware to our group at 9:30pm. Asked for a manger who never showed up. Reported the issue the next morning to make sure the rest of our stay ran smooth, response was “what can we do?”. I’m not the expert but everyone just a pleasant stay and have a good time at a 4 Star. Not asking for free stuff just an experience. All 12 girls left disappointed with the hotel. At checkout one of our debit cards had a hold of $450, no reason they just decided to hold $450. We notice another elderly person also questioning a $ hold. Parking $12 Conscience fee $14

Nice hotel but mayhem at check in. I booked 3 rooms well in advance. We arrived early (1:00'ish) & were told that the rooms were not ready (not expecting otherwise). We were told that they couldn't put us in rooms next to each other since all the rooms in the hotel were all "blocked" for the night. I stated that if the other guests had not arrived, then why couldn't rooms be close to each other. I booked the hotel way in advance. I find it very hard to believe that all the rooms were pre-assigned in a 20-story hotel, especially since room assignments are not made until the guest arrives. We were happy to sit by the pool until the rooms were ready. I gave my cell phone # and was told we would be notified when the rooms were available. I never received a call. We went to dinner & came back at 5:30 to check in and then the front desk assigned 2 of the couples to the same room. Specifically asked for rooms to be away from elevator but got the first room next to the elevator.

My cousin has a son around the same age as mine, so we booked at Moody Gardens because it was convenient. The hotel was very clean, decor was nice and staff super friendly. The hotel's pool and play area was great and all the attractions were within walking distance. We went to Palm Beach and the kids had a blast. The hotel also has a nice cafe with a good menu. I would definitely recommend this place for any family with children.

My opinions: Wonderful staff, excellent customer service from all employees. Hot tub was nice Light bright airy interior Excellent breakfast buffet Complementary infused water and cookies at the front desk. Nice workout room with complementary infused water. Nice views of LadyBird Lake from treadmills. Quality linens and toiletries. Wonderfully comfortable beds. Nice outdoor eating area overlooking the lake and views of the skyline. Kayak / water rentals, bat watching pontoon excursions are steps from the hotel. Hotel is adjacent to a nice river walking path. Coffee makers are in the room and Starbucks is on the premises. Hotel was very accommodating about holding our bags until our room was ready and providing us with early check-in (even texting us when the room was ready!).

The hotel was absolutely beautiful. I was greeted with a friendly smile by the doorman whom directed me to the front desk where I was welcomed by a wonderful staff that had me checked in within minutes. I was taken back by my spacious room and the incredibly beautiful view from the 22nd floor. Everything was within walking distance of the hotel which was perfect. When I checked out the staff was just as warm and energetic. I can guarantee that I will be returning and recommending this hotel to everyone. My visit was perfect in every way possible..

Price point was better than many other hotels for the excellent location. With a view onto the Alamo, fantastic pictures that tell the history of the hotel and it’s famous visitors, a bar for a drink with friends, and short walking distances to the river walk and convention center, the Menger was the best choice for my trip. Staff was super friendly and helpful, room was clean, and water bottles were left every day. Perfect. Friend thought fitness room was adequate. Bathroom shower pressure was firm but not hurtful, water temp stayed consistent. No refrigerator or microwave, but coffee pot present. Room size was fine for 2-3 people. A few usb connections available on lamps. Would return if don’t need a spa type of setting.

Beautiful and relaxing. The hotel is clean. The beds were very uncomfortable, bring your own pillow. My husband slept ok though. The pools were very fun and my daughter enjoyed a paddle boarding with my husband. We rented a boat from the Lakeway marina and it was an absolute blast. Everybody was so friendly and helpful at the marina. The food was delicious and the restaurant we only had appetizers though. I highly recommend the charcuterie board. It was delectable. Elvis made us feel right at home and special. The kids liked the s’mores And the pools were really fun with lots of little bits of things to do for little kids. There is no beach to the lake though. The spa is nothing fancy but Alyssa has heavy hands and turned me into puddy . I highly recommend for one of the best massage of your life. Our 10-year-old and two-year-old enjoyed a couple hours at the Kidzone. We definitely plan on coming back next year and staying for longer just this time I’m bringing my own pillow.
