“I definitely want to stay again.”

I have been interested for a while due to the good reviews. As the reviews said, the staff's atmosphere is very good, and the lounge that is available 24 hours is a stylish and relaxing space. The room is compact but just right, with all the necessary items nicely provided, making it very comfortable. The popular breakfast was delicious and well-balanced. It was the day of the fireworks at Ashinoko, but the sightseeing boat and bus stop are within walking distance. There is also a Lawson nearby, which is convenient. It was also helpful that they could hold my large luggage while I explored the area. I have stayed at various places in Hakone, but this one stands out for its hospitality and is personally top-class; I definitely want to stay here again! I actually want to keep it a secret, but I posted this review out of gratitude!

    “"An absolutely amazing guesthouse"”

I made a reservation at Rohen, which I had been interested in due to reviews, in the Hakone area where I always wanted to stay for my child's soccer support in Gotenba. Although I thought the service and space would be simple due to the reasonable price, it turned out to be a really stylish and comfortable space with free self-service for tea and coffee. It was so comfortable that I ended up doing computer work in the lounge late at night. The breakfast included fresh vegetables, minestrone, ratatouille, and bread, which I helped myself to. It was delicious! Lake Ashi is also nearby, and I really felt refreshed. Thank you again for everything.

“Enjoying a relaxing break from the everyday.”

Located by Lake Ashi, the location is great and very convenient with a convenience store and free parking nearby. The lounge space is spacious, featuring a large fireplace in the center. There are many foreign guests, but everyone seems to be enjoying their time quietly. Food can be brought in, and there are light snacks and a bar counter where you can order as well. Hakone Shrine is within walking distance, and it’s possible to see the Peace Torii in the quiet of the early morning. I stayed in a superior twin room, which was clean and equipped with everything I needed. I fell asleep when it got dark and woke up to the sound of birds chirping. Then I enjoyed a delicious breakfast. I had a truly valuable time that makes me want to visit again.

    “Best Stay in Hakone”

I had a fantastic stay at Rohen Ashinoko Hakone. The hostel is clean, comfortable, and offers a peaceful atmosphere surrounded by the beautiful nature of Hakone. One of the highlights of my stay was the wonderful breakfast. Since many cafés and restaurants in Hakone do not open until around 11:00 AM, having a delicious breakfast available in the morning was incredibly convenient and helped me start my day of sightseeing without any hassle. The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the facilities were well maintained. The location is also great for exploring the Hakone area and enjoying the stunning views around Lake Ashi. I highly recommend Rohen Ashinoko Hakone to anyone visiting Hakone. The excellent breakfast, comfortable accommodations, and warm hospitality made my stay truly memorable. I would definitely stay here again.

    SMALL ROOM DOUBLE BED
Stayed 1 night in December 2025

“Comfortable even in a small double room.”

As we are a couple who know each other well, we were comfortable even in a small double bed room. Since the ceiling is low, my husband, who is 175 cm tall, hit his head quite a bit. Caution is needed for those who are taller. The walls are relatively thin, so for those who are sensitive, it might be better to have earplugs. It seems that earplugs can be obtained at the front desk. The iconic fireplace is a battle for seats, but it was lovely. We booked early for a Sunday stay, and it cost us less than 10,000 yen for two with breakfast included. It was quite a good deal. The prices just before staying can be quite high, so I recommend booking in advance!
