Extremely pleased with my 1 week stay! Less than 5mins walk to the metro lines, and there so much shops and eateries in vicinity. The room was small but so cosy, sparkling clean and tidy. And not to mention how amicable, warm, and accommodating the ladies Staff were ! Will definitely return to this Ryokan, tiny but full of heart !

Nice place to stay, people he”
This location is very close to Sensoji Temple, and you can see the Tokyo tree. The surrounding food and transportation are very convenient. The key is that the butler and service are in place. Although the room is a bit small, the price is very high, and it is already a very cheap price nearby. We really enjoyed this trip and accommodation, enjoyed a very good service and were very warm and courteous. I look forward to visiting Tokyo again next time.

I loved this place as it is in a calm area. Around here there are tons of restaurants. You get the value for money. The room was very comfortable, the staff were super friendly, and it is very clean.

Very nice expirience for ryokan style room. Friendly staff, clean, near metro station, best money value. My room was beside the street, first night kind of hearing the noise from outside. Sleep well the rest of my stay. Wanted to stay here again on my last 3 night before heading home but was full.

Great place”
Love the location. Sensoji Temple is right next to the ryokan. The area has an old traditional vibe with tons of kissaten (old style Tokyo cafe) and sushi restaurants around. The room is basic but clean and comfortable for the price. Staff is friendly. There's also a washer/dryer which is always an added plus. Would come back here again!

The location is very accessible and convenient. The place is impeccably clean. Threre are a lot of street food and restaurants in the area. The receptionist does not speak fluently in English but you can communicate with her using basic phrases.

Excellent”
This ryokan was very convenient to Asakusa metro station. The room was basic and clean and had an en suite. There was free coffee and snacks available in the lobby and also a coin laundry. If you haven't been to Asakusa before I would recommend it as, apart from the temple complex river, and Sky Tree, there is a lot of restaurants and shopping right there. If you are looking for an early breakfast I recommend Koh Hi? on the main road walking away from the metro on the same side. It opens at 7:30am. You may have to wait but its good value.

Enjoyable Stay”
After spending five nights in a modern hotel at the central but costly Ginza. It was time to see what a stay at a ryokan in a popular district would feel like. The Ryokan is strategically located a few minutes from asakusa station and literally seconds away from either kaminarimon or sensoji. the staff was very polite and spoke English. The Japanese style bed was surprisingly comfortable and it the area was quiet despite the ryokan being located a couple of meters from nakamise street. The only downside is that you have to check-out at 10 a.m. which can be a little inconvenient if you have a flight late at night. Overall. It was an pleasant experience

Great location nice staffs, beds are nice. But the room is so bright because there is no curtains. Noise start very early in the morning 3am! OMG I had to look for other hotels in second day.

Perfect Location!”
Stayed here because I wanted to try out traditional Japanese lodgings. Location could not have been better! Room had an amazing view of Tokyo tower, and our room was so close to Nakamise market that I could see the rooftops of the street from our hotel window. You literally step outside and you're in the heart of it, so I really liked that. Station was only 5 minutes away! The staff was very friendly and accommodating - spoke English well enough to get by. However, this is definitely a two star hotel. Facilities were worn in, wallpaper was peeling off the walls and it could use some freshening up. We stayed here for 3 nights, and because of the conditions and the fact that futons are only so comfortable I think 3 days was long enough. Also, not very many outlets - only three in our room total. So we ended up having to unplug the TV in order to charge our phones/wireless internet. Overall, I had a good stay here because of the excellent location.

The location is just some steps to Sensoji Temple. But the room is very very tiny, cannot move easily with beds and closed luggages around.

beautiful view, lovely service”
We were a couple, students from Australia, travelling on a bit of a budget but we decided to spend a few nights here at the start of our week in Tokyo so that we could stay in a traditional room. The girl at the front desk was super lovely, spoke english, and organised a last-minute breakfast for us for the morning after we arrived. On first entering the room we thought it was very sweet and traditional (tatami flooring, futons and paper screens) but then we opened the window and it was CRAZY - our room had a perfect view, overlooking the old-school shops on Nakamise street with the lit-up Tokyo Skytree in the distance. The girl at the desk gave us a card we could use to come in after-hours so when we first arrived we headed out sometime after 11pm and went to a ramen shop nearby and explored Donkihote. The next day we wandered around Nakamise street and checked out Sensoji, the shrine at the end of the street. The day after that we walked to Kappabashidori (the cookware/fake food district). I guess what I'm saying is that the location is just perfect, public transport is very easy to get to but you could just as easily spend a couple of days sightseeing within walking distance. Fair warning, do print out a map or have google maps on hand because the Japanese addressing system felt pretty counterintuitive and we did get a little lost finding the place. Asakusa is officially my favourite place in Tokyo and it's largely thanks to our stay at Ryokan Asakusa Mikawaya Honten. Take at least one night to buy cheap umeshu/sake/suntory highball from the convenience store, have a really hot bath, and sit in your yukatas watching terrible japanese game shows.

Excellent stay!”
We were a group of three and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mikayawa Hanten Ryokan. The location is ideal for those who want to experience a different side of Tokyo. Although the rooms were small, they are clean and comfortable. Each room has its own wifi. Originally we booked a large room for 3 people but they gave us the option of having two smaller rooms. The ryokan is family run and the staff knows enough English to make communication possible. We had to see a doctor during our stay, and the staff found us a local doctor. Price wise, it is more expensive than other budget western style hotels near Shibuya or Shinjuku, but it is totally worth it if you want to have a unique Tokyo experience.

Great tradition style ryokan in a great location!”
This was my husbands and I first time to Japan and we wanted to stay at a traditional ryokan. Unfortunately we thought we could not afford to stay at one because the prices were higher than a western style hotel. We were happy to find this one located in a great location. (It is right around the corner from the Sensōji Temple in Asakusa.) This one had a separate bathroom (we were also looking for this) in the room and great wifi in the lobby. I would definitely stay here again.

Fantastic location near the Temples of Asakusa!”
my partner and i loved the japanese style of the rooms although small and the doors were short too - but a great way to soak in the culture. asakusa is the old part of tokyo and there were lots of lovely places to eat, a theme park and markets right on your doorstep - my favourite part of tokyo was in asakusa and the hotel was in a very central and convenient location. i would definately go back there if we return. there was one small problem with access whilst we were there - the staff were great in this situation and we were very happy with our stay.
