    “Convenient location, good value”

I think overall our stay was pleasant. There were times where I’d notice it’s age, such as rust on the sinks, creaking of floors, corners a little dusty, but overall it is clean. The main negative experience was the communal (gender separated) baths, where you could see a lot of dead bugs floating around. I bet they take better care of the private baths, which happen to be assigned upon check in. Our hostess was funny and we did our best to communicate considering my limited Japanese skill, and she spoke in English where she can. The autumn morning view in their restaurant was breathtaking. Be prepared to eat lots of seafood instead of meat!

“Highly recommended, highly recommended, highly recommended!”

I'm leaving a review because there aren't many from Koreans. This was my first time at a ryokan, and I haven't been to others, but the hospitality was exceptional (they don't speak English, so gestures are necessary, haha). The accommodation was clean and nice, and each room has its own outdoor bath, making it private. The kaiseki meals served at each meal were delicious! (Though they weren't tear-jerkingly good, the service to the room was convenient and presented nicely.) They provide drop-off service to the station, so be sure to request it! (I don't think pickup was available.) Initially, the price seemed a bit high when I booked, but considering it includes accommodation for two people, the onsen, and dinner/breakfast, it seems quite excellent.

    “Very good.”

The accommodation experience at this hotel is fantastic! I booked a room with a private hot spring and could enjoy the onsen at any time, which was really great. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the bed was very cozy. The staff were friendly and the service was warm. The restaurant's breakfast and dinner were plentiful, and in the morning, I could enjoy beautiful scenery. It is very convenient to drive up, and it's also easy to get to Owakudani.

“It is a place I wanted to go because I wanted to stay at a ryokan in Hakone.”

I made a reservation with a firm decision. Ultimately, I am satisfied with the results. The hotel is conveniently located near the Souunzan Station, making it easy to find. Arriving in Hakone from Tokyo in the morning, visiting Hakone Shrine, and then taking the pirate ship before passing through Togen-dai to Souunzan is a reasonable schedule. Checking in before 8 o'clock and trying the dinner course feels like being treated to something special. Overall, the food is not overly spicy and is a heartfelt Japanese kaiseki! The staff served us very kindly, so there were no inconveniences. The facilities are somewhat old overall, but they have their own charm. The private ryokan is available at any time, 24 hours a day, which I really liked. I enjoyed using it in the evening and again in the morning. I can't comment on the large public bath, as I didn't use it. The next morning, the breakfast was neatly presented, making me feel like I was being treated well.

“The open-air bath is the best.”

The private outdoor baths assigned to each room are very nice. I was able to spend a luxurious time soaking in the hot spring while feeling the wind filled with negative ions in the forest. The attendant was from a foreign country, but their polite service and dedicated work made me feel comfortable and relaxed. When I want to visit Hakone for relaxation again, I plan to rely on Hanagokoro.
