Exceptional stay at the Sala Ayutthaya”

We had a wonderful stay at the Sala Ayutthaya. Our room was very spacious and clean, customer service was exceptional especially by the restaurant staff, I particularly love Ben, she was amazing and very accommodating, she would watch and entertain our 8-month old baby while we are trying to eat, and food at the restaurant was good but a bit pricey. We will definitely go back and stay here again.

Just what we were looking for !”

Sala boutique hotel was the perfect break in those 10 days we spent in Bangkok. Room was just like the pictures : wide, beautiful and comfortable. We enjoyed the beautiful view at the restaurant while having the somptuous breakfast, a late afternoon drink or diner. We hired a tuk tuk right outside the door to get us through town for 3 hours (600 baht), visiting what ayutthaya has to offer.

The Sala Ayutthaya is a very impressive hotel. The pool is very sleek and worthy of a dip. I like the fact that there are no sun lounges as this makes you get oit and about to see the temples and the other local sights.They have maintained attention to detail throughout the resort. This is reflectef in the dramatic entrance way referencing the bricks that are used in the temples. The rooms are spacious and the view from the restaurant is breathtaking. Would definitely come again.

Peaceful historic views”

Stayed here on 7th April 2015 in the Pool Suite. The staff were friendly and welcoming at the front desk. Lobby connects to an art gallery which is very nice and you can purchase the paintings. The architecture leading to the rooms and restaurant is very different and well designed. Standard rooms looks like they're from Greece with an shared swimming pool. The Pool Suite is private, comfortable and peaceful. Although, there is no view from this room overlooking the river. The room has a bath, not a Jacuzzi. The pool is narrow and about 10m long. Enough for 2 people to swim privately, The room comes with Espresso Machine, coffee, kettle and selection of drinks in the fridge from 60 to 120 baht. Best to go to 7/11 up the road (100m turn right out of hotel). The food at this hotel is good, but not the best. Quite expensive, too. But remember, this hotel is the best one available in Ayutthaya with a nice view overlooking the river. Our meal came to 1,700 baht for two people. (I did however have two dishes to myself as the burger was not filling). Would I stay here again? Yes I would, because it is nice but maybe just for one night in the standard room. A hotel itself qualifies as an attraction”

A stylish design hotel. Red bricks clearly pay tribute to those ruins in Ayutthaya. Corridor to the restaurant, swimming pool, and the gallery were so beautiful. The room allocated half of the space to separate toilet shower washing basin and round shape bathtub, turning personal hygiene activities into an enjoyment. Day bed above the TV set is also fun to use (so your roommate cannot see how you twist your body and you don't see them -- such near distance isolation is excellent). The restaurant had an unparalleled view of the river and a temple across (the river is not so wide and doesn't have unpleasant smell). Food quality is excellent( think Nara in Bangkok). A dinner 30 min before sunset is worth considering (one day advanced booking is necessary ). This is a rare case that a hotel looks and feels better than its internet pictures. The only drawback is transportation arranged by hotel was expensive. And Ayuttaya doesn't have public taxi, so you need to think of your way out beforehand. (There were many local guests. They drove midsize + car there--this was a positive sign).

Great get away from busy life”

I really enjoy my stay at Sala Ayutthaya. The hotel is in great condition with superb design; it also has a stunning river view. Only let down for me was the diner service; the food itself was not up to standard. Even thought the reaturant was half full; I had to wait about an hour for my food!

Too short a stay...”

We checked in to the hotel after a day of travel followed by a 3 hour cycling tour of the city. Therefore the large soaking tub was very welcome. The food was excellent both for dinner and breakfast. The service was excellent and the room spotless. Loved the rooms modern decor and the view of the temples through a massive floor to ceiling window. We only had one night scheduled in Ayutthaya and now regret not making it longer.

good location at the center of the city ”

Positive points It is very well located at the center of Ayutthaya, so it is easy to travel around. The building is also well designed (I believed that they received an award for the building), if you love taking photo, you will especially enjoy staying here. In addition, the hotel is very clean and the staffs are friendly and quite responsive. Points which can be improved 1. the standard amenities - On our first night there were no some standard amenities such as toothbrush and cotton brush, so we had to call and requested for them. 2. many visits by the house keeper - In addition to the normal cleaning service, the house keeper has visited our room many times during our stays when we were out started from a few hours after we just checked in. I wasn't sure if this was how the service supposed to be but compared to my past experience with other hotels, I personally think it was too often for me.

Peaceful stay in a superb riverside location”

My stay was perfect and peaceful. The hotel was located in the middle of historic town of Ayutthaya. This is very ideal for cultural tour. The hotel itself is brand new. Room was super clean. As the hotel was just opened in early August, you may find limited choice of food on the restaurant's menu.

Surprisingly Amazing”

It was amazing, we love the details of the design of the hotel. the sink to the bath tub, to the simple yet comfortable room layout, over seeing the river and temple. It gave a sense of serenity. It is an amazing way to enjoy the beauty of Ayutthaya and away from the hustle and buzzle of Bangkok.

Dining room right on the river across from temple ruins. Probably best place to eat in Ayutthaya. Food was also better than anything I encountered on the outside. Expensive by local standards but still a bargain for most tourists. I recommend it highly.

Not up to Sala's standard”

We have stayed at Sala hotels in multiple locations in Thailand and sought out Sala in Ayutthaya because we have been impressed by attentive service at other Sala locations - we were very disappointed by the staff inattentiveness at the desk and especially in the restaurant at Sala Ayutthaya relative to the others. There is nothing wrong with this hotel - desk staff ignoring you while on their cell phones and sketchy service at restaurants is normal in Thailand - shouldn't be at a Sala hotel though

Not meet Sala service standard. I used to stay at sala phuket staff and dinner way much better. But overall of sala ayutthaya are ok room was cool design and clean but staff allow walkin customer to walk around pool and private area so uncomfortable.
