Outstanding”
Despite not particularly liking Koh Samui this hotel made our stay memorable. We had a balcony room which was spacious, clean, well-equipped...and had an interrupted view out over one of the cliff top pools to the sea. The minibus driver attempted to rip us off by telling us our complimentary transfer from the boat would cost us another 200 bhat but when i raised my suspicioun with the reception staff before paying him they helped me confirm this and dealt with him. This was just an early example of a kind, welcoming helpful staff that we experienced for our whole stay. Which we extended after less than a day because we liked the place so much. It's a good place to esape the ramshackle that is most of Samui now. Quietly placed on a clifftop, only a 10 minute moped ride from Chaweng beach, the Best Western was an oasis. 3 pools, smiling faces at breakfast and well attended rooms. The food at the restaruant in the evening was equally well presented and tasty. I'd go back in no time.

Best getaway on the island”
We booked this hotel based on past best western experiences and the positive reviews from fellow travelers. This is a wonderful hotel we would definitely come back to should we visit Koh Samui again. The staff is very courteous, warm, and friendly. The free shuttles were always on time to take us to the two beaches. Although we had to take a taxi or tuk tuk back to the hotel in the evenings, we enjoyed the experience of riding a tuk tuk. Great breakfast. we had a deluxe ocean view room and it was wonderful. we had the best view on the island, also easy access to the pools. it was just the best place to be for x'mas. although we didn't join the big parties on the beach because we have young children who have early bed time, we still shared in the fun from our balcony, listening to the music and watching lanterns flying up the sky... it was beautiful and romantic. we are pretty sure the party went on all night, but we still had a great sleep because it was so quiet in the room still. just a nice hotel all around and excellent value.

Peaceful Paradise”
We enjoyed our stay at Samui Best Western Bayview Resort very much, but wished we had more time there. The restaurants had great views of the ocean and it was just gorgeous sitting there peacefully with eachother as it was quite private. The hotel is away from the busy streets and noise which was great. The staff were very friendly always smiling and willing to help us in any way needed. We will definatley stay there again in the future.

Another fantasic resort stay ruined by refurbishment again”
The Samui Bayview Resort & Spa was by far the best accommodation we experienced in thailand-sweeping views, great facilities (pools & gym) and well appointed rooms but, bloody construction noise & dust ruined the experience. Just wish others do not have to endure the 8am to 5pm jack hammers as we did.

Perfect”
Two of us stayed here in a deluxe seaview for three nights. I would rate this hotel as one of the best I have stayed in (including much more expensive 5 star places). The rooms are large and comfortable with an excellent balcony / terrace offering a fantasic view. It really is something to wake up each morning to such a view. Staff were very good and efficient (aside from the very annoying Bangladeshi tailor - what is he doing up there?). Food in the vening is good and value for money and breakfasts are quite varied in spite of the small number of diners. I would say this hotel is far better than a stay in Lamai or Chaweng as they are both over developed noisy places, which have lost the magic of Samui, while the Best Western still retains it. One area that could be improved is the supposed shuttle bus to Lamai. If you want to go to Lamai on the hour, they will take you. However, if there are no guests going on an hour, the bus won't leave, which means if you're waiting in Lamai for the bus at a quarter past the hour, you won't get picked up. This is something the hotel should improve.

Great location but slowly deteriorating hotel.”
Hotel has the best bay view in Koh Samui. But lack of proper maintenance is going to kill the hotel unless checked. For example sauna has a nearly broken bench, steam room has no lights, gym is dysfunctional, plastic flowers everywhere in a country of lovely flowers, no newspaper, none of the staff speaks a word of English, the only hotel in the World which charged me for ice in the room($1). I normally tip the person $1 who brings me ice! An air of gloom because the hotel is kept in the dark all the time. Even the front desk looks morose.

Loved it”
Overall the hotel is amazing, it has 3 infinity pools looking right out into the sea which is the best view I have ever had in a hotel. We got a sea view room and the view was well worth it.the breakfast was good, the staff were helpful and friendly, free dvd player is you ask for one, sauna snd steam room. We didnt use the spa but we heard it was really good. The restaurant food was great, around the same price you would pay for a meal in either of the towns. The room was gorgeous, large and very clean and there was a seperate bath and shower which is unusual in thailand. the hotel helps with excursions and car hire and also helped us improve our map reading skills when we couldnt find where we were staying.free shuttle bus to both lamai and chaweng is great, the sister hotel in lamai is right on the beach and its great.

Beautiful hotel”
The BW Samui Bayview is a beautiful hotel. We stayed in a Deluxe Seaview room at the beginning of December, which is still considered low season, so we got a really good rate for our room. When we were there, the hotel was very quiet...not sure if this is because it was low season or because the airport in Bangkok was closed due to the riots. The room we had was really nice...modern facilities, a bathtub and a shower curtain on the shower. A beautiful view off the balcony where we had breakfast delivered each morning - this too may have been because there were only a couple of people staying in the room - if it was busier, it may have been a buffet breakfast instead. The restaurant is a little pricey but the food is quite good. There was really nowhere else to eat unless you were in town somewhere. The shuttle service was really nice...leaves the hotel during the day every hour and returns from their sister hotel in Lamai at quarter past every hour until 5:15. The only other negative was that one night we went downstairs to play pool and quickly left as there were bats flying around and a large lizard was sitting on a ledge by the pool table...not the company we were hoping to have. All in all I would recommend this hotel - unless you need to be close to the action.

Beautiful hotel , Stunning views”
Booked the Bayview for a 2 night stay with friends. Was amazed at just how beautiful the setting is, with breath taking views accross the bay, from all over the hotel. Best to book a sea view room, the view again is fantastic. Rooms very spacious, very clean and well maintained. Food is excellent, and reasonably priced. Couldnt fault the breakfast buffet and again the breakfast room is right on top of the hotel with great views accross the bay. Wouldnt hesitate in recommending the bayview

Great stay!”
My husband and I stayed in the Deluxe Seaview room in early Dec 2009. We had been a little concerned that we were staying in a "Western" hotel, and that we might miss out on the local experience, however this was not the case at all! The local staff were always friendly and ready to help, the restaurant served good Thai food, and the ambience of the grounds had a definite tropical feel - just beautiful. Our room was large for it's price range and we had a gorgeous view from our balcony - definitely recommend the seaview rooms (otherwise why are you staying on top of a hill!). We felt the price of onsite services to be quite reasonable for a 4 star hotel, and used the onsite spa once for a great oil massage. The pools... just stunning. 2 horizon pools with spectacular views. The restaurant food was good quality and reasonable value, and the breakfast buffet (included in the room price) was excellent - freshly cooked omelettes yum. Reception even organised a free transfer from our previous hotel, and a cheap transfer to our next hotel after we contacted that hotel and found out how expensive their transfer fee was! We would definitely return here, and feel that it is a nice balance of comfort and price.

Rooms with awesome view”
Stay was great. It is located on the hill top & u have to pay taxi extra to reach you there. Chaweng & Lamai are around 15-20 mins by Songathew and may charge u 100 baht per ride per person. Sunday Lamai Walking street is fun shopping & eating street food. Chaweng is a lovely place to eat drink & enjoy. Hotel provides Minivan drop to Central Festival Mall at Chaweng twice during the day. Awesome seafood at Chaweng. Day trips to Ang Thong, Koh Phangan, etc. could be arranged from local tour operators from Chaweng at a great price. But don't forget to negotiate. View of Chaweng beach from my room was excellent to wake up with every morning. 5 stars for that awesome view.

Absolutely Amazing!!”
Superbly situated on top of the hill between Chaweng and Lamai Beaches, from the minute you walk into this resort it is absolutely breathtaking.Fantastic views from our Deluxe seaview balcony (even from the bathroom)and the breakfast, restaurants, this has to be one of the best Resorts we have ever stayed in. We checked out the honeymoon suite for our daughter, amazing with a jacuzzi on the seaside balcony.Even though not on the beach you can take the shuttle bus down to Lamai beach to their sister resort and use their facilities.Do hire a suzuki and trip around the island and across the top where there are a few fantastic restaurants- but make sure you take a map.The Hotel offers a great car hire rate without all the hassle of producing passports etc. to the hire car companies.

Good choice for Samui”
Booked Bayview for 3 nights, and then extended my stay till the end of vacation. I found it to be great and will definitely choose it again in case I go to Samui one more time.

Spacious rooms but isolated location”
stayed here for just one night when we first arrived in samui. the hotel is on par with its star rating but leaves a lot to be desired despite the low nightly rate. we saw one or two other couples here, generally speaking the hotel was deserted. the pool has the potential to be nice, but plastic lounge chairs and bugs in the pool really take it down a notch. breakfast is nice offering a decent selection and variety. location offers peace and quiet but is very isolated. the hotel offers one way to lamai beach and chawang, but return trips are either not offered or not offered later in the day. taxi ride to chawang beach runs about b300 one way. better to take the open air pickup truck taxis (forgot name). for honeymooners, chaweng beach is very touristy and not recommended.

Almost a "Best" Western Samui Bayview Resort.”
The Best Western Samui Bayview is just a "Standard" hotel and in the end of the day is still Ok for the priced that I payed! The hotel has a spectacular view of the bay and the visual effect from the balcony (seaview room) is fantastic. I find the position of the hotel quite good considering the Hotel is in the middle way from Chawekg and Lamai. So strategic for discover the beaches around the island and a quite place out of the noises of the crowded Chaweng. The best choice is then to rent a bike considering that nothing really happen around the hotel area and the always annoying , unfriendly and "expensive" public transportation experience we had during our stay. Rooms are quite big, clean even they need a bit of renovation. In fact the overall impression is of a old structure built with "the old Asian taste"! The breakfast buffet is nothing exceptional with a few choices and definitely not up to standard. The staff they have been ,after all , kind and helpful with only difficulties of their limited English that sometimes it created some incomprehension.

Great Hotel”
My wife and our 3 year old daughter stayed here for 5 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. Relaxing atmosphere and very clean, our room had a great view from the balcony over the great pools and across the bay towards Chaweng beach. The hotel is not on the beach but runs a regular shuttle to 2 differant beaches and so no need to worry about transport, although it is a good idea to rent a scooter to run about on for about 200 Baht a day. I would definately stay here again next time we go to Samui and loved the island ang hotel

Good romantic hotel”
One of the highest hotels on Samui. You have a really good view. Spa, fitness and steamroom. 3 or 4 pools. 2 infinity pools. A very quiet and pleasent hotel - perfect for couples and honerymooners. They have aromatherapy in every room and the staff is always helpfull no matter what you ask of them, the will help you.

The provide free suttle bus from the hotel every hour but only one way. You can also stop a tuk tuk and you can go to any beach on the island. You can also use taxi to get in chaweng beach is max. 150 baht..but they ask in the bigining 300...

Great hotel”
This hotel has one of the most beautiful views on Koh Samui and is located between Chaweng and Lamai. This could be a con if you don't like to rent a scooter and drive around on your own. But I can only recommend this place.

Lovely place”
The location of Panalee Resort is very good - just a few meters from the beach. It’s a silent and quiet place, it’s that we searched after city noise and vanity. Good place to rest, nobody disturbs your peace. Location is really perfect and nice beach with white and fine sand, but it's not suitable for swim (small bottom and corals). But it is possible to dabble on shore. For children it’s good. There is a bar at hotel on a beach, you can always take pleasure fresh juice or freshening shake, especially good is mango juice. By the way here near grows the mango tree, you can reap a crop directly on a beach))) The hotel's staff is very professional, friendly, warm and polite. We have never met such a nice and helpful people. Room is not big, but very comfortable and clean. Room service was every day and every day we got clean towels. Shower, toilet and air-conditioner all worked well. In a bathroom besides a standard set (shampoo, soap, tooth-brushes...) there was still a coconut oil. A trifle, but it’s pleasant. There isn’t safe in room, but you can always without problems leave your valuable things on reception (it’s free). It's romantic, nice, cozy hotel. We will return again next year to this hotel.
