Seogwipo hotels & places to stay

We (three adults and two teenagers in two rooms) had a great stay at BK Hotel, Jeju. Located near restaurants, scenic waterfalls and a short walk from night street vendors, shops and an art street, it is indeed very convenient. Although only one staff was English speaking, the friendly and enthusiastic service makes up for any communications problem. Oh yes, some other staff do speak some Chinese. The rooms were clean and comfortable, heated flooring ensures we do not get "cold feet". If there is any "complains", it will be that there was no bath towels during our stay due to some problems with the supplier/laundry serving the hotel. Also, aps were all in Korean and we couldn't make use of them. Will definitely recommend BK Hotel to anyone wanting to visit Jeju, especially if you are going to be in Seogwipo.

Excellent location in downtown Seogwipo near the market and several eating places. Very accommodating English-speaking staff. Comfortable bed and cool A/C (I stayed in a standard single room). And two common areas, one of which has a pool table! It's easy to explore Seogwipo and Jungmun from this area. You can also get to Hallasan easily by bus from here. They also rent bikes for free if you have a valid ID. The only cons: (1) they only have small towels (they gave me more than one, though), (2) pillows that were pretty hard for me, and (3) my room didn't have blackout curtains (you can tape maps to the windows though). I still slept well though. I highly recommend this hotel for everyone, whether solo travelers or families with young kids. Excellent value for money!

Generally, my stay at minjoonggak was good mainly because it provides a comfortable, clean and safe place to sleep in. Firstly, The staff is extremely friendㅣy and will go all out to help you, Even though he speaks little English, you can use signs or pointing to express what you wish. Even though the place may seemed difficult to reach (from Airport limousine 600), it is actually quite simple once you get used to it. Minjoonggak is about\3000 taxi fee away from The Newkyongnam hotel bus stop for airport limousine. The room that i stayed in was a 4 bed room dorm for females. it was rather spacious. i think the best thing about minjoonggak is that it is 5 minutes walk away from seogwipo intercity bus termninal, 30 minutes walk to cheonjiyeon water fall and seogwipo submarine. if you are interested about olle trail in jeju,minjonggak is the place for you because the manger is part of the olle committee.

I stay at Slow City for a week, and they give free upgrade from 4-bed dorm to private room. Free breakfast (cereal, toast, milk, juice, butter & jam) every morning. Washing machine can be use for 3000won. They also have cloth iron, drying rack, electical adaptors, jeju guide books and map for anyone to use. Staff and owner is super friendly and helpful, going extra length to search info and give help. Ying even walk about 12km with me along Reversed Olle Route 7, where i see hidden gem of Seogwipo Coastal view and end our journey watching the most beautiful sunset in Jeju at Saeyeon Bridge. I'm also thankful they give/share fruits and cake with me while i'm there. For Muslim traveller, they do provide seperate utensils/kitchenware only for Muslim use, and even taharah soap for our convenient use. We can freely cook our meal at the pantry too. The location is close to Meile Olle Market and Seogwipo old bus terminal. For the price, i can't ask for more. Thanks 👍👍.

I can't praise R Hotel enough. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly, no query or question was too much for them. The staff all speak English and have many recommendations of places to visit and restaurants to eat at. Although breakfast is simple (toast, jam, eggs and fruit juice), it made a welcome change to Kimchi and rice! I can see that the hotel has previously been rated down for 'location'. However, it was in the perfect location for us. Within walking distance to many tourist attractions. If you are wanting to go a little further out, there's a scooter rental shop just round the corner called Scooter and Freezone where they speak English. The room was very clean and comfortable, with toiletries included as well as the room having air-conditioning, a TV, a fridge and a hair dryer. The hotel was very well equipped in general; they have a large kitchen which you can use freely to cook, as well as a pool table, computers, bicycles and an american football table. We had a fantastic stay at Hotel R and it would definitely be our first choice of places to stay if we return to Seogwipo!

The room was quite spacious, with all the amenities one would expect of a hotel room. The dining area offered coffee and toast for breakfast but you can prepare your own food, which we did by buying ingredients from the local market. The receptionist (Jin and her partner) were very helpful providing information during our stay including getting contacts for car rentals. Location is quite fine for travelling around Seogwipo and around the south of the island. All in all; value for money. Highly recommended fir travelers on a budget. A very pleasant stay indeed.

Seogwipo, although an hour away from the airport, is where most of the attractions are. Hence, Kodakkodak Guest house provides good starting location point. The guesthouse provides free breakfast (bread, jam and coffee) plus two crate-full of Jeju tangerine await the guests. Help yourself!! You can cook your own meal if you feel like buying seafood from the nearby 5 day Seogwipo market. Laundry is self service as well. Rooms are big and comfortable. Toiletries are complete and bath tub is a bonus! Really comfy!

This hotel is a must if you are traveling alone or in a group of two or more. The rooms were cleaned and made up daily; also much cleaner than most friends' homes! From Jeju Airport, it was a single 80min bus ride (Limousine Bus 600) and less than a five minute walk North West of the bus stop (New Gyongnam Hotel in Seogwipo). Check in was simple, and the hotel offered a cafe, outdoor picnic area, and a basement with lots of tables, dart machines, stage, music, etc. The hotel was within walking distance of several restaurants, bars, coffee shops, orange stands/stores, and shopping. The 600 bus line was a great tool for excursions too far for walking, and taxis were also readily available and usually cost less than $5 for where we went. The hotel offered a daily breakfast (eggs, toast, cold cereal, coffee, milk, OJ) that was more than enough to get us going in the morning. The cafe offered an extended menu that would be suitable for lunch and dinner and included several "western" type meals (bagels and sandwiches), as well as coffees, teas, and beers (for those interested). Additionally, they offered an evening Korean-style BBQ that was worth the money! You were able to socialize with other guests and get an authentic Korean meal (all you can eat). The staff was great. Their English was superb, and they were very helpful in recommending excursions, restaurants, shops, directions, etc. Currently they are renovating to make the hotel even BETTER (it sounds amazing)! This was my first time in a backpacker's hotel, and from what I'm told, this is one of the great ones. I'd recommend that you stay here.

Overall great guesthouse and good value. You're very close to the water and the view is great. Looking right at 'tiger island'. The neighborhood is quiet and a little isolated. However, its an easy bus ride/taxi to downtown Seogwipo only 10 minutes away. They don't make up your room but that's not a big deal. Breakfast was pretty good including toast, coffee, juice and eggs you can cook yourself! The couple working here are really friendly. The lady speaks English well.

Conveniently located in the heart of Seogwipo with easy access to the two waterfalls, right in the middle of the artistic Lee Jung Seob street and 5 minutes walk from the Olle Market. All the staffs were very young and friendly and makes the 1-week stay very enjoyable. Although mainly catered to Koreans, the other guests were young, friendly and considerate. I had a great time.

We got in to Jeju island rather early and arrived the hotel about 9AM. The owner mentioned we were early and check in is at 2PM. But after a few seconds, the owner's wife (I think) decided to let us check in which I think it's really nice of them as we were tired from an early flight in from Seoul. The moment we walked in to our room, we were really pleased with the room. It's clean and spacious. The bathroom even had a big tub with a good shower head. They had electric blankets in case we feel chilly during the night. A really nice hair dryer was provided and our room was cleaned up every day. The owner even gave us some oranges and yogurt drinks for tea. The morning we left for Busan, the owner got up and waited along with us in the lobby for our taxi to the airport. It was about 5:30 AM! I would recommend Mimong anytime because of their hospitality and the location of the hotel. You do no need to worry about food as it's right in the center of the famous food street and 5 mins walk to Seogwipo Olle Market.

Great house with front and backyard. Living have balcony which can walk down to the front yard. Super clean worg nice furniture. Very friendly hosting with a lovely cat and dog. Ist floor is for guest while 2nd floor is for the host living. The lady host is a Korean who nake excellent muffin or bed for guest as breakfast everyday. The male host is a USA guy who is friendly to drive take guest to the nearby bus stop to start of the day. In this house, guest can enjoy very healthy lifestyle which light out at 11pm and breakfast at 8am. All in all, great place to stay to enjoy harmony moment.

The breakfast was good with pretty solid choices that included western style...probably could have used a little more Korean variety but that's really a personal preference. There was no lunch nor dinner when we stayed, but the hotel had only been open for 3 days and was not truly complete. The rooms were great...we had two different types. The rooftop pool is not a true pool but more like a very large Jacuzzi. It was pleasant, and the view from the rooftop is top notch. It's only a couple of blocks (uphill) from the airport limousine stop (world cup stadium). Cab ride into Seogwipo was between 5,000 to 7,000 won...which was reasonable. There are restaurants within walking distance and an E-mart as well. Overall, it was a nice place to have as a "base camp" for site seeing.

The hotel itself is nicely decorated with animal statues which kinda makes it special. Location wise its right infront of a bus stop and next to a convinience store. Parking space is a little limited though. 3 waterfalls, Cheonjiyeon, Jeongbang and Seojongbang is near to the hotel, apart from the fact that hotel is located very close to Seogwipo harbour. Room was well equipped with necessities like TV, toileteries, hair dryer and as usual for Korea, small towels. Breakfast was simplistic but it was okay. Very happy with our stay and will probably be back next time around.

The sunset seaview were breathtaking, with such effortable price, you only able to found few resort or pension give you such view. Location is not perfectly situated for all sightseeing in jeju, but near to seogwipo, waterfall, and larva formed cliff. Suitable for people who are driving in Jeju. Nearedt supermarket Emart, in two miles away. Staff extremely helpful, borrow me his charger for my power bank one night. No breakfast provided, room is big, cafe is downstairs until 11pm, the funny thing were I told the staff there are no cover for the water outflow hole, so he passed me a tea pot cover and it fits the hole amazingly, at the end I din use the jacuzzi. The chop stick is one stick instead a pair, water heater cover is broken. The cleanliness is fine, only some black dots on the wall as there some of the guest luggage hits the wall.

We got a room overlooking the beautiful harbour and the Saeyeon-gyo bridge. The staff can’t converse much in english, you might need to use google translate. The location is walkable to Cheonjiyeon waterfall and the popular Rose Marin cafe which is situated right in front of the waterfront. There’s a laundry mat near the corner facing the main road, 3min walk away from the hotel. Which is very good for travelers who doesn’t want to bring a lot of clothes. The fee is about 4000-5000won depending on the type of washing you want and dryer is 500won for every 4 mins. It is also within 10-15mins walking distant to the Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market. You can also take bus to Mount Hallasan - Seongpanak trail which is about 20-30 mins. If you walk along the main road, you can find a lot of local eatery too! i hope this help anyone who is interested to visit jeju :)

Value of money : EINS HOTEL is cheap than other hotel in Seogwipo-si. EINS Hotel provides us delicious breakfast with amazing ocean view. The Location : But I think for the location is little bit far from Jeju city. Because there is no public transport to go this hotel, we need to rent car to reach this hotel. The cleanliness : The bedroom and bathroom is very clean. The staff : The staff is very friendly. When we need some mineral water, he provides me for free mineral water without additional charges. Facilities : The facilities of the hotel are nice. But I recommend to the HOTEL Management to change the hotel's bed. I think it's too hard bed for us. Overall EINS HOTELis very nice to stay if you visit Jeju Island, South Korea. Regard, Budy - Indonesia

The hotel is good value for money. The staff are extremely helpful. Although they don't speak very good English, it is enough to communicate and they also have a folder filled with information of how to get to all the tourist attractions in Jeju. The folder has information in Chinese, Japanese, Korean and English and one of the staff speaks French fluently. Unfortunately Seogwipo is a little sleepy at night with only Korean food and no Western restaurants. We found it difficult to find places to eat at night.

The M-Stay hotel in Seogwipo, Jeju is a relatively new and comfortable hotel. It is reasonably easy to get to using the Airport shuttle bus, but Seogwipo is a long way from Jeju town and airport. There are no extra frills to the hotel, not even coffee in the rooms (but there is a convenience store and coffee house on the ground floor, no room safe and no universal power points (but adaptors available with a deposit). Pool is a bonus, but shallow and with very limited hours, closing at 6pm. It is close to plenty of eating options. Getting taxis back from tourist spots can be challenging and expensive - but that I think is Seogwipo rather than just this hotel.

I am happy for my trip and I don’t want to type lengthy comment so just the point form 1. The location for me is good as it’s quiet and it’ll more convenient if selfdrive 2. The owner and hotel staff are running the property, restaurant & convenient store. They might not at front desk all the time but reachable at convenient store or phone. 3. They are helpful, when my car have some problem she call the car centre for me and assisted for the translation. The car centre sent the engineer to fixed my tire. 4. Daily change towel but not the linen, it’s fine as I only stay for 3 nights 5. The cleanliness is acceptable and hope the staff can keep the hardwork in maintaining the standard. 6. If possible please install the clothes hanger behind the toilet doors. 7. Lastly, my favorite part is the hotel did provide some Mandrin Orange at front desk, it’s nice and I think is from the own farm (they have the mandarin orange farm area the propert).

I'd recommend this hotel to use as a base for exploring Jeju - it's far enough from the Seogwipo centre that the area's not really busy (so easy to navigate around) but not too far. The room was adequately sized and clean. The reception staff didn't speak great English but we didn't expect nor need them to. We didn't eat any meals at the hotel because there was a good Sundubu restaurant a couple of minutes walk away (and plenty of others within a short drive) and a Paris Baguette close by which was fine for breakfast. The wifi worked well for us.

The accommodation itself was clean, comfortable, and even had cooking facilities and utensils/crockery. The towels provided were small hand-towel-sized, so do bring your own bath towels. The boss lady was very helpful when we approached her for advice regarding our itinerary. (She doesn't speak much English, but w got by with some basic Korean, and Google translate.) However, the pension was located in a secluded area in seogwipo and you had to walk about 20-30min out to get to a bus terminal/taxi stand. This was particularly inconvenient at night as the area was not well-lit. Although the boss was very kind and offered to drive us out to the bus stop (and pick us up from there), we felt bad troubling her all the time. Moreover, breakfast was not provided so finding breakfast places in the morning was a pain. It would be wonderful if the pension could provide guests with a simple breakfast. Generally, we enjoyed our stay but would not recommend it to travellers without hired cars. But if you're looking for a quiet and comfortable place to stay and have your own car, we highly recommend it!

A great value with a very nice staff! The room is very quiet, very clean and has excellent WiFi service. The common areas has a washing machine and a kitchen you can use for free as long as you clean up after yourself (it is a shared common area with a few other guest rooms, so some common courtesy is required). The hotel isn't well known by local taxi drivers and is a little off the beaten path, but the downtown Seogwipo area is still only a 10-15 minute walk with plenty of restaurants all within 15 minutes walking no matter which direction you go. Would definitely stay here again!
