Beautiful and homey resort ”
We ended up postponing our trip twice to October 2021 due to the COVID-19 closures which the hotel was very helpful with. We spent 3 nights here which were re-energizing and relaxing. The food tasted great and service was very hospitable. The room was squeaky clean. You can tell the staff and owner here take pride in their resort and work. The design and location of the resort is also very nice. Although the beach section is rather small. We found that the dynamic geography with the rocks, hills and waterside cafe were a lot more interesting than other resorts which only have one main section. You could stay here for 3-4 nights without getting bored.

The staff is very kind and helpful at all times. The restaurant has very nice food and service is also great. The hotel is close to one of the nicest beaches in the island. Definitely staying at the Shantaa Hotel made the trip to Koh Kood very much more enjoyable!

The food at the restaurant is one of the best we had in Thailand in the past year and we did not even want to explore the restaurants on the island! The staffs at the Resort is very attentive and friendly and that's definitely one of the highlights of our trip. Highly recommend this resort and will definitely come back again :)

Very high quality resort. Good sized rooms, tastefully decorated all looking out at the ocean. Excellent kitchen- they really use fresh herbs, spices, and seafood. Cheap for this kind of quality too. Staff is also top notch, they really looked after us the whole time. There are better beaches elsewhere on the island, but not resorts like this one. Anyway, that's what motorcycle rentals are for, which they have here.

Clean Resort - But Beware Dress Code”
Shantaa is set in tremendous manicured grounds and is clean, with excellent bungalows which should be expected at this price point. Disappointingly, there is no gym and no pool, and you must wear a shirt to sit in the outdoor restaurant, which is unusual for a beach resort and inconvenient if you want to drink wine and have snacks between dips in the ocean. It seems like a family run business with strong traditional values and virtues.

under developed island .. but very indigenous and relax .”
If you want to reset sometime this island is best for you , but u r upmost and upbeat guy like me I would say think twice , first of all the whole island is maybe look like koh Samet but they are more under developed.. maybe they wanna keep that way , also the water smell soo bad , and too much bugs and mosquitoes, I got bumps all over and all red .. I hate bug so maybe this is again not for me , what is great is very quiet and very naturally nature beauty , if u r into camping and stuff like that this maybe your heaven .. As for this Boutique hotel staffs are very nice but no phone or tv in the room so if u call them u need to use your cell and they close office very early around 10 pm .. make sure u call them prior and the restaurant are nice with too much duplicates style of foods .. but again staffs are very nice .. there is another one compliant is the toilet is outdoor even within your parameters of the room outdoor especially night time too much mosquitoes and flying bees and bugs .. I got bite mainly during sleepy head to go toilet .. and u need to close the glass doors all time or else bugs and mosquitoes will treat your body like wonderland.. u got what I mean .. also driving motor bike which u can rent are very dangerous coz the whole island road are very sloppy and raining during this time very slippery not recommended but taxi is very expensive one beach cost 500 THB . Again mainly u wanna relax and chill and reset , this is your heaven and other than that think twice .. I had great time however .. thanks for reading

The moment we arrived at Shantaa, everything quieted down. The resort's grounds were nicely designed, and every villa was spaced out well. Most of the guests were couples or families traveling with elderlies, meaning that we had a quiet crowd. We stayed in the Shantaa Extra Sweet. The villa was very well-designed, airy, and well-thought-out. There's a quality speaker that you can connect to your phone. And I appreciate the "No TV". The shower warmed up nicely, and the water pressure was great. WIFI is very fast, a rare treat, especially on an island. So it was indeed a great place to relax and recharge. We did not leave the resort and had all 3 delicious meals at Shantaa. Breakfast was included. The 2 lunches & 2 dinners (+ some alcoholic drinks) rounded up to 140$. They could have gotten away with selling something mediocre at a ridiculous price but chose to deliver exceptional quality. Hats off to the team. There's also a lovely swimming pool and 2 beaches. The staffs are polite and friendly. My only regret was not staying longer.
