Sukhumvit hotels & places to stay

I stayed in a dozen hotels in Bangkok, this was definitely my favorite. The location is superb, just located besides BTS with easy access to Sukhumvit Soi. With indoor pathways connected to Emporium shopping mall, you don't need to worry where to dine if it's raining outside. I believe this is owned or managed by Japanese, as the hotel and room is very clean according to Japanese standard. The staff is super attentive. I happen to lost my iPhone on Taxi, and staff helped me find the Taxi by their surveillance video within 1 hour. The room is a bit small, and pricey at normal times, but the quality is definitely worth it!! It's a hard pick between Emporium Suites and Marriott in Sukhumvit 24.

Simply love the location! We've been visiting Bangkok very frequently and always stayed in a 5 star hotel in Chitlom. Just found out about Grand Centre Point Sukhumvit through my friend in facebook. It's the best hotel for our needs! We can take the MRT train from Sukhumvit station directly to Chatuchak market. Exit at Kamphangpetch station to section 24 where all the latest fashion stalls are situated. In the past, we usually take the BTS train from Chitlom to Mochit station then brave through the crowds and sun to transfer to another train using the MRT line to Kamphangpetch station. Appreciate the welcome platter of fresh fruits upon arrival. Spent the first few days playing with the electronic toilet. Love the microwave where we can heat up the Best Hot Chocolate that we bought from the Gourmet Supermarket at Terminal 21 Shopping mall. It was indeed very rich & yummy! We had a wonderful time swimming and soaking in the jucuzzi. Enjoyed the widespread morning buffet breakfast too! My only gripe is the water heater. The temperature kept fluctuating from very hot to very cold. It's frustrating having to spent the entire time adjusting it. I hope they'll address this problem soon as we're spending more time in the shower and wasting precious water. An ironing board with iron will be a bonus too especially we've bought tons of clothes and would love to wear them immediately after some light rinse. All in, we adore this hotel and have already booked flights to Bangkok in December!

In one word - AWESOME! Location is just next to the Marriott Hotel and a 3 min walk to the BTS Station. Walking distance to Sukhumvit 55 where you can find plenty on spas, restaurants, cafes and some really good local food. The hotel itself is not huge, but intimate, very nice decor and rooms, pool and gym on the roof. Rooms were clean and new, bed is really comfy and washroom is also equipped with electronic toilet. Extremely helpful staff and always greets you with a smile. Breakfast buffet had a limited choice of food, but always fresh and enough variety to keep me happy, the waffles and coffee is excellent and must try! I would definitely recommend The Salil Hotel Sukhumvit 57 to anyone.

The Continent Bangkok by Compass Hospitality is tucked away and easily missed from the street. On the North side of Sukhumvit Road just about midway between Asok Montri Rd and Sukhumvit Soi 23 is a small driveway entrance that I mistook for an alley many times strolling by on the sidewalk when I first stayed in the area. Luckily, a great price offering on Agoda brought my attention to this 5 star gem back then and I have stayed here several times since. Their sign is actually on the side of the building on the East side of the driveway and can be easily missed when driving by in a taxi on the street. Know your location and watch for it when coming for the first time. Staff here is very professional and will treat you very well. Accommodations are impeccable. Each floor is small with only a handful of rooms on each which means there are no long hallways. If you have a chance to get the Sky Room upgrade give it a whirl, you won't be disappointed. In room amenities are nice including robes and slippers, large safe, iron and ironing board, and hair dryer. Most rooms I've stayed in had closet door that doubles as bathroom door which is a bit inconvenient as you can't get to closet with bathroom open and vice versa. The upper floor pool, dinning room, and club are very nice so don't forget to check them out while your there. The club offers some great views and great food to entertain your guests. Even though it's in the middle of a very busy area conveniently next to Asoke BTS station, it is not a busy hotel and you will find your stay here very relaxing.

This is my 3rd stay at this hotel and I can say with confidence that this is the best hotel in Bangkok. I had several needs that this hotel quickly accomodated. We needed to book some tickets to Siam Niramit and I inquired at the front desk, next thing I know we were booked and they wanted to give us directions which I already had. This is a soup to nuts hotel, if you need anything it will be done. The suite is a wonderfully decorated and functional room. It will not disappoint. Love the bidet toilet seats by Toto and the quality fixtures. The bar is a great place to grab a drink and enjoy the city view outside. The breakfast has just about everything you could want, but I try not to indulge too much and everything is just so tempting. I enjoyed the wonderful pool with a view. The internet always worked. The keycards never had a problem. I had numerous packages delivered here. I had several VIPs in Bangkok visit me here. Never a problem with them handling very expensive packages nor taking care of my friends who were always impressed when they came to visit. I didn't have to worry about them being rudely treated. So after all is said and done, don't even think twice about staying here. This should be your first choice, you will not be disappointed. I've traveled to Bangkok so many times and stayed at so many hotels here and this is at the top of the list.

We choose 137 pillars residence for our last night stay in Bangkok before flying back home and we were so happy with our choice. We stayed in a one bedroom residence, first we wanted to book a suite but the residence was totally fine, much better than we expected, we were on 22th floor and there was a small balcony with stunning view over Bangkok. It was very beautiful decorated, the size of residence is bigger than many other hotel rooms we had been with the same price (or higher) and what we really love are their bathroom amenities from panpuri and harnn!! The hotel itself is a luxury boutique hotel, the moment we entered the entrance we already felt relaxed. Staff are all very friendly, especially concierge I rate them with 6 stars, they are very helpful and I can tell that not every 5 stars hotel in Bangkok are like this. A big plus is that the hotel has a room on 27th fl. for after check-out you still can use the room to rest, taking shower etc. We will definitely come back again!

my first stay at the royal benja in bangkok, probably my seventh or eighth visit to bangkok. of the hotels i've stayed at, i'd pick royal benja over all of them (except perhaps the j.w. marriott, but that hotel is in a radically different price range). it is conveniently located, about 2 blocks off sukhumvit rd, and about 3-4 blocks from the nana bts station so getting anywhere in bangkok is a breeze. it was also perfect for me since i booked a physical at bumrungrad international hospital, about 2 blocks away. a lot of bangkok hotels have tub/showers with tiny instantaneous water heaters. royal benja has both a tub and a separate walk in shower with great water pressure and as much hot water as you can take. after a 26 hour flight (counting layovers), it was great! my only disappointment was the included breakfast. i guess i have been spoiled by the montien in pattaya. the royal benja breakfast was fine, included the usual odd assortment of eggs, pancakes, and tossed green salad, just not expansive like some others. still i got plenty to eat.

Stayed over at S31 Sukhumvit Hotel for the first time and the experience was purely awesome! Staff at the Reception was really friendly with a smile on their face without fail. Room was really clean, comfortable and spacious. The bed was really HUGE and comfortable as well. Location wise, its really convenient as its about a 10 - 15 mins walk to Asok BTS which is in front of Terminal 21. I will definitely go back to S31 Sukhumvit Hotel with my partner the next time when we visit BKK!

the hotel was difficult to find because it is located in a mall and signage is clear from one side of the street. we took tolls from don muang airport which was fast but the taxi driver needed to ask people in the area where the hotel is this is a common review....he also had to turn around...look for foodland...i recommend they place a larger sign on both sides of the street...who knows if this is practical... the restaurants are good, a true coffee place in the lobby. the best part is a 24 hr grocery store and asian/western dining like diner..order off the menu...good variety of low and high price restaurants...starbucks is a 5-7 minute walk...and located in a mall with tops grocery and burger king...in the direction of the bts....which is about a 15 minute walk... the front office staff tae, aye were especially excellent. a women named vien at the desk was excellent...helpful, efficient and spoke excellent english the rooms are outstanding, quiet, clean and very comfortable. the bath is huge...like scandanivian huge...i actually think they were imported from sweden or denmark...my husband is 6ft and he found it huge...the shower had great water pressure. the kitchen had wwf and european cutlery and cleaning sponges...excellent job on the the area seems to have a lot of japanese expats living there...there are alot of japanese restaurants in the area...the area seems to have a fair bit of medical tourism...overalll a great place to stop over...the area has a number of serviced apartments...the gym is great...overall a really outstanding experience for about 150 usd a night... ..the beds are divine...the threadcount sheets are really great, big and the sofa too was big and comfortable...one of the best experiences in a hotel...beyond expectation...i would definitely stay if i was passing through bangkok again...also free wifii...when we compared some hotels charge 1000 baht per day...like 50 usd a day...

Metropole Bangkok was a pleasant surprise considering how few people know about it in Bangkok. The hotel is located very close to the new places like Sukhumvit, but a little far from the old town. The hotel itself is very beautiful, with a classic feel about it and the rooms are stuffed with all the amenities you could expect, including a TV Audio Bar that you could connect with your phone and play music while relaxing in the bath tub. All in all a fantastic deal for the price you pay.

I spent three nights at the Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit Hotel on the club level and thought it was a nice new luxury hotel in Bangkok. The location is right on Sukhumvit road which makes it nice and easy to get to the BTS. The staff was extremely professional and Charlie and the front desk couldn’t have been nicer. The rooms had the latest Samsung smart led tv’s and bose sound systems. The beds are extremely comfortable and I didn’t want to get out in the morning. My only complaint of the room was the Hermes soap. They only give one tiny bar of soap that could be used for either washing your hands or for the shower. A second bar of soap for the shower would be nice. The club floor was nice with a great selection for breakfast, afternoon tea and complimentary evening cocktails from 5-7pm. I was surprised how few people were taking advantage of the evening cocktails...I felt like I had the place to myself which was great. The pool was nice and refreshing. My only complaint of the pool area was that they would use an old dirty mop to remove the water from around the pool area and it seemed a little disgusting. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice place to stay on Sukhumvit road in Bangkok.

booked 2 rooms for 6 days and then changed it to 3 days as we planned to go to chaing mai. booked the hotel through agoda and got a very good deal. less than half of the rate offered by the hotel. you wouldn't expect a hotel on sukhumvit road behind a bts station to be any good, but it is. hotel is clean, well maintained and modern. the service is good as well. the rooms are a good size with a kitchenette and a large fridge for a hotel room. there is a 7/11 next door so one can stock the fridge with your own choice of beverage. the bathroom could have been better designed, but its not bad. the floor should have had a less slippery tile as well. the spa and swimming pool areas in the l floor are also nice. outdoor pool. also a large spa pool indoor. again slippery tiles, in some areas, around the spa pool. so be careful around it. did not eat in the restaurant as we were out most of the time. the bts station ( phrakhanong) is, conveniently located next to the hotel. very handy indeed. we are returning to the hotel after our excursion around thailand. the hotel has a storage for baggage which we used whilst we were traveling around. it was free of charge. stayed july 2012

Bangkok Marriott Marquis Queen's Park knows what it takes to care for their guests and making sure they come back! And that is what we are doing soon. Firstly, I'd like to take the opportunity to share a few memorable encounters with the staff that draw us back, besides the beauty of the Hotel. Champ, at the Front Desk, checked us in with warmth, helpfulness, and despite other guests that cut in front of us demanding things or even to check in, he had handled them professionally and simultaneously making us feel like VIPs. After all procedure done, he walked us towards the lift and explained the annex going to the park adjacent to the Hotel. He's got our attention alright! Ordinary guests made VIP! Room was great, very clean, full amenities, turn-down service, housekeepers were friendly to follow-up with our requests and with such politeness! Could not have asked for more. F&B - We applaud the quality and spread of food for both Breakfast and Dinner Buffet. Not all 5 star hotels would go to this extent. Professionalism displayed in food presentation, quality & quantity and great service. About the latter, I cannot help but to name a Chef, CB, from one of the stations. We wanted to take a look at the buffet spread and had some questions. He greeted us and did more than explaining to us but showed us around the spreads and different stations, informing what kinds of food served. We thanked him but he actually stunned us by walking us out, wished us Good Night, and hoped we could try the buffet. Because of CB, we had actually cancelled a dinner reservation at a highly acclaimed restaurant but preferred to have the buffet dinner at our Hotel. We have no regrets whatsoever but in fact enjoyed the sumptuous meal to the fullest!!! One note - their breads and pastries are to die for! We have been treated well by most service staff at the restaurant but we would like to commend too some who are interns at the hotel. They have put everything

The "In Residence Bangkok Sukhumvit" is direct located at the Radisson Suites in the Soi 13 Sukhumvit.The "In Residence" shares the lobby with the Radisson Hotel at the same address. I stay in the 8th floor. The rooms, in the class booked by me (bedroom suite) were very large - well furnished and pleasantly neutral. Simply to feel good - ideal for business people, as there is a meeting room (“living-room), refrigerator and a separate dining table. The bedroom and bathroom are separated by a door and also have their own air conditioning. The shower has normal and a rain shower. The view is not particularly interesting - but you do not stay in Bangkok to be too long time in the room. And if you stay longer you have television in bedroom and “living room“. As a holiday traveler, you feel like a little prince because of the large rooms. The way to Sukhumvit Road is about 500m - unfortunately not a good footpath, but the hotel offers a shuttle service - so this is acceptable. You are near Terminal 21 and a lot of good places around the Sukhumvit road. The pool on the 9th floor and the jacuzzi are really great - it is recommended to appear in time to get sun beds with umbrellas - these are quickly occupied. The sun is quite long on the pool deck, but there are shadows in the pool (the best place to relax). And the pool-bar-Service is very helpfull and nice. The breakfast for 450 THB is very much to choise - Omlet and eggs are directly prepared. The selection of food is enough and a good start for the day There are 2 personal computers in the lobby to make check-in or other bookings. Particularly worth mentioning is the willingness to help at the reception - the ladies really try to support with advice and action. Especially Arisa, Bow and Bee have always found solutions for small wishes or special features. So also by their help an extension night in the same hotel room worked - although a room in the Radisson (Partner-hotel)was booked (about Agoda). F

Been to Bangkok many times for pleasure and usually stay in Sukhumvit. Our gold standard hotel is The Sukhothai but we prefer Sukhumvit location near the BTS / MRTA. We also like the Sheraton Grand as the pool is lovely, buffet really good and location excellent. The Movenpick is stylish & is our new favorite pool plus location is really good, so we'd go back. PROS: -Staff extremely friendly and helpful. -Free tuk-tuk service to and from hotel to Terminal 21 (which is right at Asok BTS & Sukhumvit MTRA) -Central Sukhumvit location. -Extremely quiet, stylish and updated. -5 star amenities (24hr room service / free gym / free Wifi / pool & roof bar / restaurant). -Rooms are nice/clean w/ wood floors and bathrooms updated & well designed. -The pool is fab. CONS: -Not the best buffet in the world but perfectly adequate and plentiful. Could have better pastry & fruits (pastries are rather soggy ... no mango?) -Mattress fine but on the hard side.

this is a real gem, very private, family run, with great food & service & free wifi (absolutely essential) - i recommend this and the location.the staff are very friendly and the rooms are well equipped and comfortable. the hotel is 200m from asoke bts and close to many restaurants, shops and bars along sukhumvit. emporium shopping mall is one stop on the bts from asoke or a slow 15 min stroll along sukhumvit. opposite queen sirikit park which for those wanting exercise is over the road. access is easy to and from the airport depending on the time of day and if you need to get to silom/sathorn area then access is also easy. i will adopt this as my new found best hotel in bangkok for future visits. excellent!

Booked 4 nights initially but extended to 8 nights due to location, delicious inexpensive local food around. My recommendation for local food are chinese chicken/duck rice shop next to Pizza Company just a few doors away and beef/pork noodle stall at night after 7-11 store at Kluai Nam Thai corner (across Bangkok Univ). There is also a 24 non-smoking internet cafe next to the pizza company. Phra Khanong BTS is only 10-15min walk away and there is also a new Japanese Gateway Mall at the end of Sukhumvit soi42 (right on Ekkamai BTS), 20min walk. The rooms are spacious n comfortable beds. Helpful excellent English-speaking staffs during the day and friendly housekeeping staffs too.

I can't say enough about AETAS Residence. It was incredible! The staff greeted me by name every time I came through the lobby. Coming back from shopping, I was surprised to see one of the staff running out to help me with my bags--while I was still 30 yards from the door! When I asked what time the tuk-tuk was leaving for the BTS, they took me immediately even though it wasn't scheduled to go for another 20 minutes. I also got a hassle-free late checkout. Absolutely wonderful staff! And the room was to match. It was one of the cleanest, most comfortable suites I've ever stayed in, and I loved the view from the balconies. The kitchenette had a full set of cookware, a microwave, oven range and a full-size fridge. For a 5-star hotel, room service was quite reasonably priced with an extensive menu. The location was also ideal--just two stops on the sky train to all the shopping at Siam and a few in the other direction to all the dining and nightlife of Sukhumvit. Plus, the area is mostly locals and expat businesspeople so it's quite safe and tout-free. One of my new favorite hotels in Bangkok! I will definitely be back!

I stayed at the Westin Grande Sukhumvit for 4 nights, and it was ideal on many levels. The location on Sukhumvit is amazing. There are great restaurants in the immediate neighborhood, the BTS (overground rail) is right outside the hotel door, and there is a mall, Terminal 21, next door. Taxis were also very easy to get with the hotel staff's assistance. The room was very comfortable, and the bed linens were soft and luxurious. The main room and bathroom were both ample in size and very clean. I only had breakfast through room service, and my meals were all delicious. Perhaps the greatest surprise for me was the fitness center. It was an average size but it was equipped far better than most hotel fitness centers. Also, the staff in the fitness center and around the hotel were very friendly. There are some aspects of the hotel that seem a little run down, but nothing that impacts one's stay. I would rate the hotel as a solid 4-star property (not a 5-star as listed).

I stayed at the amari atrium for 4 days along with my wife. Though the hotel is located in Sukhumvit area, it's closer to the Phetchaburi MRT. It's a good 700 mtrs walk to MRT. Being Indians we were craving for some Indian food, the location of the hotel is such that there were 2 very good indian restaurants just outside the hotel. The hotel staff are very courteous so much so that they upgraded our room to the 21st floor. It's also has a very nice jaccuzi overlooking the river-canal. And amazing swimming pool which is very clean. The only reason I'm holding back a 9 rating is that, we happened to book our day tours through their travel desk, i.e. Ambika Tour Agency. I understand that it's a third party agency but at the same time the hotel is responsible to ensure that they have someone who is reliable and who wouldn't mis-represent what is and is not included in the tour package. The case on hand is that we had booked the day tour to Ayuthaya and the tour program stated that we would be visiting the replica of Angkor Wat. When we actually boarded the tour bus we were informed that this was not included. Overall this is a wonderful place to stay if you would like to relax after a long day of sightseeing and day tours. I would definitely recommend this to all those looking for quality service and a place away from the hustle and bustle of a metropolis. But if you are looking to stay very close to the shopping locations and in the middle of all the action then I would suggest staying somewhere closer to BTS Nana or BTS Asok.

During this trip I've stayed at all 5 Star hotels and I booked the remaining 9 days at the AETAS. So many of the 5 star hotels didn't even have free Wifi but this one does. The location is right on Ruam Rudee near Soi 2. There is a lot to do around here with hip eateries and a wonderful spa called M Room within 1 minute walking distance. Ruam Rudee is nice because you can take it two directions, one is toward lower Wireless Rd and the other takes you eastbound on Sukhumvit toward the shopping malls. Traffic here is easy if you're driving. The bed is huge and comfy. Fantastic sheets, comforter and pillows. Bathroom is large with a big bathtub and rainfall showerhead. Good fixtures, only a small problem with the water leaking out the door when you take a shower. The only real con staying here is that the internet is slow. You can't really watch youtube.

Right in the heart of the Sukhumvit shopping area and almost literally at the steps of the BTS skytrain, location was the major factor in choosing the Amari Boulevard. Everything else the hotel had to offer was a bonus. From here you can comfortably reach all the major sightseeing areas of Bangkok - the Riverside,Grand Palace, Siam Square, Emporium Shopping malls and the infamous entertainment areas of Patpong, Nana and Soi Cowboy. If you want to travel further afield the hotel has a permanently staffed travel desk offering advice and booking services for a whole range of tours picking up from the hotel doorstep. The rooms are clean, modern and well attended by the room service staff. The hotel lobby lounge, where you can take advantage of free wi-fi, is spacious with friendly and attentive staff everywhere. Breakfast service at the ground floor restaurant offers a good selection of fresh foods. Value for money! I really am hard pushed to find fault here. In fact we booked the Amari Boulevard for the return leg of our vacation on our way back to the Middle East on the strength of our first stay here. I imagine we'll be back there next time we visit Bangkok.

I visit BKK twice a year and have stayed at many properties but the Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit was the best hotel that I have visited so far. The selling point for me was the rooftop jungle maze like pool. It's like staying in a resort but with all the attractions of BKK close at hand. The pool is absolutely gorgeous, giant plants everywhere making it look like a lagoon. There are many private little nooks to sunbake and enjoy the yourself. This rooftop spa-swimming area is an engineering feat. This hotel was constantly surprising and all of the surprises were good. I loved the gym and the gentlemens spa/sauna/grooming station. The buffet was very good. All of the staff were attentive and I didn't get a whiff of the BKK attitude you get at some hotels around town. I really liked the area - although if you stray to far into Nana it gets a bit dicey. I usually stay around Siam or Silom but this was nicer yet still close enough to the action to be fun. It is connected to Terminal 21 which I quite liked. The Sheraton Grande Sukhumvit is also directly connected to the BTS so it is very convenient to get anywhere. The decor of the hotel would have been cutting edge in 1994 but it has been well maintained. It is a bit daggy looking but who cares? The bedding is very comfortable and the room has been well thought out. I had a few niggles with the bathroom - the shower door didn't really close and the toilet was a little bit weird. I can't recommend this hotel enough. If you feel like you might want to stay here and are dithering just stop and choose it. You won't regret it. Room Tip: My room was fine but a bit drab. I was facing the city which wasn't a very good view. I booked well in advance and got a much cheaper room rate. Also get a Starwood Preferred Guest Card and they'll put you in a better room, the card is free and you can use it immediately.

My wife and i had a three night stay here as part of the first leg of our honeymoon. The location was vreat as it was right next to the BTS rail system which made it great for getting to the water taxis and anywhere else ( especially the airport, which was a lot cheaper than using a taxi). The pool was great, food at the restaurant was awesome for dinner and the included breakfast was especially nice- great variety and very good coffee. The room was very clean and quiet. Could not hear the roads through sukhumvit at all. The staff was very kind and got us extra bottles of water when we needed it and made sure we booked correct tours and made sure we knew where we were wanting to go befofe we left.

We stayed in a Pano Suite on the 30th floor which meant we had the most spectacular view over Bangkok. The hotel is getting old which is visible in especially in the 90's style bathrooms. But everything is very clean and does not have any of these strange smells you often meet in tropical hotels. Very fresh air in the rooms. The suites have two air conditioners. We shut off the one in the bedroom in the night and had the most quiet nights ever in a room with A/C. If you like a more modern style, the Neo Suites are probably better. Google Maps locates the Excecutive Suites at an other address than Windsor Suites, but it is actually the same hotel, just the top floors. An other difference is the breakfast, served at 32nd floor. Wow! It's an immense variety of European and Asian food. Everything is very fresh. The staff is perfect, serving a very good coffee. In the early evening snacks and drinks are served free of charge for two hours. A nice start for a Bangkok night, also with 5 star staff. 5 minutes walk from the hotel is a combined Metro and Skytrain station that makes it very easy to look around in the city. It's also situated close to a great mall, Terminal 21 with Bangkoks best (and cheapest?) food court. Both of us agreed, after 6 great days, that this is our new base in Bangkok. See you next year!

Stopped in Hilton on our travel to Thialand !! Decided to stay in Bangkok for a few nights on way home which I planned to book Hilton or Sheraton !!! While looking for deal came a cross lachester at a price half the cost of hilton and Sheraton !!i got to say this is the best five star hotel I have stopped in while my Many vists to Bangkok there service is best ever had !! I think this hotel is a £200 pound a night hotel not £ 75 we paid the hotel only been open 2 month and is brand new rooms are luxury clean !!!showers are to die for Plenty tea and coffee in room maids round twice a day !!! We were looked after on service desk by a young fella called jay if had one complainant drinks are very pricey but you expect that in 5 star !!! Sky train near by and hotel as free shuttle !! Also night life 10 minute walk this hotel as got to be best in Bangkok
