"Dang Guei is very worth of money, we stayed for 2 nights there and tour around alishan. The view is magnificent, if you cant wake up in the morning or you dont want to fight with the crowd to see the sunrise or sunset, just stay in Dang Guei. And you will experience sunset or sunrise from cloud sea. It will be quite hard to find the exact hotel location from LongTou bus station but Thanks to the owner, he will pick you up from longtou bus stop and send you back there if you want to travel around. Dang Guei is located in the middle of Chiayi and Alishan. So you wont have to travel too long to go either of the places (roughly around 1 hour to each place). At night, it is suggested to buy food from 7 eleven or get dinner at Dang Guei which is steam boat with unlimited meat and vegies for NTD 350 per head. For touring guidance the owner and maid will tell you where exactly the best time and places to go. In the end, its very worth it."
