"The staff was super sweet and gave us a complimentary room upgrade and cake for my friend's birthday. The views from the resort were breathtaking, especially from the infinity pool looking out to the clouds and valley below. Unfortunately the weather was not ideal for swimming for us. The Executive Double Room we had was very comfortable with a super large TV screen and very comfy bed and pillows. The bathtub was a welcoming treat for a cold and rainy day. It would be nice if they provided some bath foam for bubble bath. The restaurant menu was a little limited, and could be better with an expansion of the offerings. The ala carte American breakfast we had was nice though a little pricey at 15k each. Parts of the resort was still under construction as it was newly opened, including the spa. Overall I'd recommend coming here for a night or 2 as a special treat. The cable car rides were included in the booking so you don't have to get them separately."

"This property spanning around 22 acres in the most perfect location outside of Kathmandu pampers all of the senses from the visual to the sublime. The staff is outstanding, the rooms encompass gorgeous views, and the food is some of the best in the world. Activities abound like a hike to the local farm, yoga, meditation, painting, spa, Pottery, or just lounging in one of the multiple forest sitting areas. Service and amenities are 5 star, this was one of the best stays we've discovered around the world. this will remain one of our greatest memories of travel."

"This hotel is awesome. I can't believe that it is not mentioned in more guide books. It is the best value for a luxury hotel in Kathmandu. It is nestled in a large jungle-like park,away from the noise and chaos of the downtown. The rooms are great, the staff extremely helpful and abundant, and the facilities including spa exceptional. I found the food at both restaurants to be really tasty and with a nice variety."

"Not the center of town, located at the base of the mountains, 500NPR from Thamel. Honestly, I didn't leave for the two nights I was there. I soaked in the tranquility of the gardens, the beauty of the pool, the tasty breakfast, the incredibly helpful staff that stopped before they were overly helpful and my room, a beautiful fresh air room with flyscreens in good condition (AC also). Highly recommend Park Village Resort if looking to separate hectic Kathmandu with some tranquility."

"The hotel is easily found on an unnamed side-street off Thamel Marg (North of Ashok Galli). Staff were friendly and spoke English well. There was an issue with lack of water supply in the bathroom but the staff were quick to manage this and promptly tried to fix it before offering me another room close by. Hot showers were readily available, though when the power-outages occurred in Kathmandu the Hotel did not have their own power generator, even for basic lights. Enjoy your extras such as cable TV in the evenings after dinner at night instead when the power is on (though really you should be out during the day anyway, so the lack of generator is not really an issue). Rooms are spacious, with generous lighting (when the power is on), wooden floorboards and plenty of wardrobe and hanging space. Rooms can be quite light during the day due to the large windows looking out onto the central garden or lower-lying neighbours. Queen beds with high quality linen and good towels are a welcome luxury. Safe drinking water is supplied in a thermos as are clean glasses, shampoo and soap. Breakfast is excellent and you can have a speedy, full 'American' breakfast (tea/coffee, juice, bacon, sausages, eggs, toast, spreads, and fruit salad +more) for approximately 370R. Get it included in your deal and you'll be well-satisfied until lunch. This place is a bit pricey for the budget traveller looking for private rooms in a hotel but it is well worth it, perhaps for a few relaxing days at the end of your trip."

"I had an enjoyable time in Sampada garden resort. It is within walking distance from main street (2 mins walk), yet not too close that it is noisy. Perfect. It has a little garden. I honestly didn't like breakfast, I thought it was bland and boring. However, dinner was excellent! Restaurant meals were way better than anything I had elsewhere in Kathmandu. It was really good. I wish I ate there more. Give it a try. I didn't try all the dishes lol, we had a few and they were good. The room was comfortable, basic, yet sufficient. Price was good. A little bit of a walk to Thamel, but that was fine by us. Overall, we like it and would stay here again."
