This hotel has an excellent staff that provides exceptional service to guests. The surroundings are peaceful, with beautiful gardens that guests enjoy. The hotel is centrally located and just a short walk to Ubud Palace, restaurants, markets, and supermarkets. Guests rave about the fantastic spa experience, which includes stunning natural spring-fed pools and steam/sauna rooms.
Note that the hotel has steps and limited transportation. Some rooms may require refurbishment and have a slight odor. Although air conditioning may be insufficient, the hotel is suitable for most.

Beautiful hotel, really incredible actually. Every part of the hotel overlooks trees and the river and the spa is incredibly designed. However, the hotel makes a couple major errors that I can't quite look past: 1, this is the only public place in Bali I've been to that doesn't offer free filtered water - a jug of filtered water in the reception. When I asked, the staff said I had two bottles of water in my room - yes but this isn't enough water for a day, and I couldn't even open the bottles because there was no bottle opener in my room. Given the level of comfort and price of this hotel, not supplying water is shocking... Also, I found out upon checkin that access to the spa was not included in my stay. I had to pay for it each time I wanted to go. That should've clearer at the time of reservation. The second time I went to the spa, the cold plunge pool was not clean enough for me to use it. I would've appreciated some kind of commercial gesture because the cold pool, spa, and hot tub are all that the spa offers. Although the hotel is beautiful, I'm not sure I would stay here again.
5 nights and 6 days ❶ Check-in → Smooth. First, we were greeted with cold towels and cold ginger tea. Already, the view from the entrance is amazing 🎶 We arrived in Bali early in the morning and got to the hotel just after 10 AM. However, they informed us that the room was ready, so they let us check in at 11 AM. We were tired, so this was a huge help. Only stairs for movement. You can rest assured that the bellboy will carry your luggage. * For both check-in and check-out * Not recommended for people who dislike stairs. ❷ Staff → Anyway, the staff maintained smiles throughout our 5-day stay. They were incredibly kind. When we asked for ice, they immediately contacted us with a quick response. * Ice was free. ❸ Room → Cleaned every day. Spacious terrace. The view is of the jungle right in front. Every day, we were soothed by the sound of the river and the chirping of birds. Upon entering the room, we were welcomed with flowers and fruits (free service). Only on the first day were the refrigerator contents free. * Coke, Sprite, 2 bottles of water, chocolate snacks. No refills after that. Everything was neatly arranged, but we did see some reptile-like lizards; however, they are shy creatures and don’t approach humans, and they eat insects, so we didn’t see any cockroaches. Amenities include shampoo, conditioner, body soap, soap, body lotion, razors, etc., but there is no comb. * The fruits were mostly unfamiliar except for oranges, and I didn’t know how to eat them. However, when I saw the same fruits at the breakfast dessert corner and asked how to eat them, they kindly taught me. Dissatisfaction → Every day, there was always something missing, like towels or amenities. I had to request a refill at the front desk each time. ❹ Meals → Fewer types but buffet-style. Egg dishes are available on request. Generally tasty. There were many types of Indonesian sweets beautifully displayed. The variety of fruits was abundant. The bread variety was also rich. Croissants and other Danish pastries, as well as muffins, felt homemade. The homemade pineapple jam is recommended. There were 3 types of coffee. Breakfast at the sky restaurant with its wonderful view took a leisurely almost 2 hours. Other guests were also relatively relaxed. I think this is a place to take your time. When traveling, I always worry about noisy, poorly-mannered, overly boisterous Chinese tourists, but there were none at all, allowing for a quiet stay. Perhaps more guests from Western countries? ❺ Neighborhood → There are two convenience stores within walking distance. For restaurants, it's either a straight walk into the lively town or a Grab (taxi or motorbike). The distance is fine for walking, but it depends on the person. Is it about a 15 to 20-minute walk to the palace? About an hour to the Monkey Forest, perhaps? In the city, we could casually walk around while having tea or shopping. This hotel is worth staying at again when visiting Ubud.
This is a hidden gem in Ubud with stunning views over a river but also right off the Main Street. It’s about 10 mins walk into the central area of Ubud but also has some incredible restaurants very close by. There is a convenience store across the road with some larger ones about 5-10minutes walk away. The hotel spa and facilities were very good, albeit missing that special touch of a nice reception area. The buffet breakfast was ok. Nothing special. The biggest thing letting down the hotel were the staff in the lobby and the restaurant. No one smiled or went out of their way to make you feel welcome. However the cleaning staff were friendly. I would stay again.

Its timeless appeal, combined with the tranquility of its surroundings, creates an unforgettable retreat for those seeking a truly immersive cultural experience. For travelers yearning to step back in time and immerse themselves in the charm of old Bali, Hotel Tjampuhan is a perfect destination.

“Lovely hotel”
We really loved our stay at this very pretty hotel. The staff were so lovely and friendly. We left our phone behind in the hotel at checkout and a staff member found us walking in ubud and returned the phone to us! Thankyou so much! The gardens are beautifully maintained and the spa facilities were unique! We also really loved our room, very private and comfortable. We also enjoyed the location of the hotel- a nice walk into central Ubud.
